Worst place ever I relapsed on drugs and ask for help on a sponsor. They kept me for a week the whole time all I seen was the staff on their phones. They were hitting some of the clients calling clients stupid I seen… clients using the bathroom on their self and the AID told them they need to grow up. And the doctor made a complete joke with me and told me to put on a wristband so my dumbass wouldn’t forget my name. Rooms were horrible at the head of my bed was boogers and someone else, previous clothes and blankets were in the cubby holder. The aid on duty Heather pics on who they talk to. If you were an attractive male they gave you a lot of attention they woke you up for groups. They gave you double portions of food but if you were not attractive, they didn’t give you the time of day please never send your family and love wants to this place. The only nice person was the lady that was passing out the pills. She actually opened up and talked to us and let us know that she cared.

Just Plain Neglect - This isn't my 1st grievance with these people! My mom arrived on 3/30/26 and left on 4/14. My mother is highly medicated for health, mental health and addiction. She also suddenly fell while in… their care & no action was taken, they didn't even consider that maybe she wasn't ready to be moved. They transferred her to a women's shelter - upon arrival my mother was informed she would have to detox off her prescriptions before being allowed to stay in the shelter - my mother was NOT INFORMED of this until it was too late. They sent her to a place that doesn't allow prescriptions - KNOWING she needs her medicine - . She's left with no choice but to go through this 1 week detox center for shelter. I won't go into details on how obviously hard & difficult this is on her. Not only is she having to complete a fast detox off medication she's been on for so many years, upon completion she will then have to cope with no longer being medicated for her addiction problems but mental health as well. I'm not shocked based off my personal knowledge of history with Oceans, but I am fed up enough to make others aware of what happens to my mom in their "care".

My brother is bipolar and has been to this facility many times, Only to be let out just as sick as he was when he went in! Out of his mind claiming to be Jesus. He is a danger to himself and society when he is Manic! My… family, and I just cannot believe that A doctor of any kind would let someone back out on the streets in this shape. It’s so hard on the family we feel as though our hands are tied and when we finally do get him into a hospital and this is what they do absolutely nothing!!!! This is what nightmares are made of! I feel like they just don’t want to deal with the patients That are completely out of Touch with reality! In my opinion, this place should be shut down because they are being paid lots of money for absolutely nothing!!! They lock them up for a few nights, drug them up And then release them! They do absolutely nothing to help these patients 3 hrs after his release he is in another facility completely out of his mind! I don’t know how these people get away with this! Please keep my brother and my family in your prayers!! This place is a total scam I absolutely hate this good for nothing place!!!!!!!!!!

First please be advised to not bring your loved one to oceans . We brought my grandmother for behavior issues . We arrived late on a Wednesday the charge nurse would not come and speak to us she kept yelling at the… nurse to relay the information and the nurse was having to holler through the door for our question. now this is a women that has anger issues doesn’t sleep forgets goes to the bathroom on herself want eat yells and screams. So I called Thursday they tell me she is a pleasure to be with they said she slept over 7 hours she eat all her food she’s wearing a diaper not fighting them. She’s smiling and laughing . So I just thought that is odd but that’s only day one fast forward to Monday I have called everyday everyday it was the same line as the first day. I asked daily have y’all given her any medication no ma’am just the medicine she came with we locked hers up and give her ours but it’s the same medication. Well they didn’t care to tell us the insurance was out of network so be ware . Not one dr called us to give us updates half the time the chart wasn’t updated till the following day. So they told us we owe 575.00 a day. Well our thought was if she’s acting fine we aren’t going to continue spending that. Went and picked her up Tuesday evening nobody spoke to us explained anything they were just worried about the money. We get home and we have another patients paper work which I know is against hippa laws . Then we see on there that they are giving her a extra blood pressure medicine along with several other medicine through the day. Now she is home acting the same way. I will be calling the medical board regarding this and I will be calling the facility because they definitely owe us a refund and an apology. Just be cautious I had read the reviews previously and questioned if we should take her to that place but unfortunately for elderly there isn’t a ton of option. BUT they reassured us that things have changed . We also never got anything stating the psychiatrist name and we have a random medication in her bag with a Taylor on it as a dr but that is Not listed anywhere . She went to her primary dr today and we showed him all the paper work he said it sound like they just kept her doped up and her blood pressure so low that’s why she was just going with whatever at the time. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted you to be aware before bringing your loved one there. It’s already scary enough for them and then you feel like you had no purpose afterwards. You have no answer. When now we sit with her still acting the same way and now she’s scared to get in a vehicle with us thinking we are going to drop her off somewhere. And I’m sure the patients private information we have she wouldn’t appreciate that being disclosed to strangers . And if they don’t take this serious I will try and locate the person with the paper work and let her know her information is just being handed out to random family’s. Update …. Spoke with the director who seems concerned and assured me he would be contacting me back within 1 day . Did not do so he was just worried about who the patient was that we got there information. Once he had that we were no concern to him. He could not provide notes as to why they gave her all the medication . I asked to have the nurses call me he said he would do that never followed up . I asked him to have accounting call me regarding the bill that we got nothing out of he said somebody would be calling me never did . He was a complete joke and I assure you he takes part in that place running like it does . Because he did not care to help us one bit with my grandmother so why would he care about any other patient or the way the facility is ran. It is trash please stay away from that place I will be calling the state today.

Just released from in-care for anxiety and calming down. Love, love, love the staff! Groups are very helpful, and participating can be be enlightening. Food had been great on previous visits-not right now, it isn't.… Beware of you have asthma, cleaning product grades are medically necessary with so many people going in and out, and are high in VOCs. Get medical Dr to temporarily double your asthma medication, I forgot and I had a hard time catching my breath. Not highly structured at all, and wonderful people helping you. A great place to calm down!

Absolutely horrible!!! Did absolutely nothing to help my Mom longterm. Was told she would be in their care for Medication Adjustment, evaluation and monitoring for 10-14 days. She was discharged after just 5 days with… absolutely zero notice. Their communication with family is non-existent! They will not update you on the progress of your loved ones care. You have to call them and beg for information. They claimed to have "Adjusted" her meds but didn't keep her in their care long enough to evaluate if the adjustment made any difference. Subsequently, the very next day she had a crises situation where law enforcement had to be involved and she ended up in the Emergency Room. She also came back from Oceans with bruises all over her and a very sore back. The only thing we were told is that she slipped on some water on the floor and hit her knees. We doubt we are being told what really happen due to the amount of and location of bruises on her legs, arms and back which have been photographed and documented. Beware before sending your loved one to Oceans. They will do as little as possible and discharge your loved one as quick as possible. There are other options that only deal with Dementia related behavioral issues. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Update: Xrays show my Mom has a Compression Fracture in her lower back that she did not have when she arrived at Oceans... This just keeps getting worse!

A family member of mine has been in and out of behavioral facilities for quite some time. It can be difficult following the progress and watching loved ones struggle. The staff at Oceans (Ms Jennifer) have been extra… supportive and gone out of their way to assist in any way they can. Thank you all !

These people at Oceans in DeRidder Louisiana are discharging my 87 Year Old unsafe Mother back to her home even though she was found without money food and electricity. She lives alone and often times without money… electricity and food because she has an online romance scam of 3 long years she never met in person, she has given more than $47,000.00 to. They don't care one iota trust me. Don't go here for real help. They said she's safe to go home. So unbelievable after all we went through to get her there for help.

BEFORE YOU READ, PLEASE KNOW ALL THE OTHER STAFF ARE SUPER KIND, CARING, AND OVER ALL LOVELY PEOPLE. THIS IS ABOUT THE NEW COUNSELOR TAKING OVER AFTERNOON OUTPATIENT GROUP COUNSELING. When Ms. Julian was there it was… awesome. Then they had a newer lady taking over and she was pretty nice, but I sadly forgot her name. THEN she left and found a better paying job (Good for her. Happy for her). A new lady who I won't name came in. That is when it went down hill. She is kind, don't get me wrong, but she pushed religion into the group counseling. It made me uncomfortable. I was there for counseling, not church. If I brought up my religion it seemed to be ignored. Kinda hypocritical. Then I brought up I smoked.. herbs... The two other ladies before her didnt like when I told them, but understood it was the least of my mental problems, especially if it helped me sleep and calm down. This new one pulled me into her office as if being scolded by a teacher and told me I was to take a drug test once a week if I was to continue going. Out of the almost one and a half years I've been there, I never had to do that. I quit and left. Way to make me feel threatened. I didn't do any other "drugs" other than those leafy herbs.

The communication with the staff(nurses& DRs) included is horrible. They do not reach out to the individuals family and keep them updated with the behavioral progress of the patient. There has been multiple times I have… called to speak to a family member for them to hang up on me and or tell me that there is not enough time to find said patient (this was a woman the man was nice). When your loved ones are being "looked" after communication is top priority. How is the family to believe you have the patients best interest at heart when you do not keep their caregivers in touch with reports. If you cant speak to your family member how would anyone know how they are being treated?. Also after turning in medical records staff tends to ask same questions listed in medical reports provided. So really do you really have the patients best interest at heart? sincerely concerned daughter!

My father came out if Oceans in a worse condition than he went in. Had 2 falls that required him to go to the emergency room. I requested to be involved in the group meeting with the staff concerning his care. I was… contacted by the physician after the meeting, and was told that his medication was being changed. I was told for 5 days that he was doing well on the medication change. Within an hour of him being returned to the nursing facility he came from, they had to try to sedate him for aggressive behavior. He lost a significant amount of weight in the 2 weeks he was there. Please....whatever you do, DO NOT send a loved one to Oceans Behavioral.
