What a mess! I was sent here after a stroke and case managers not knowing where to send me. I have trauma and serious DV cases against my ex so I figured why not make the most of it? When I got there, they told me they… detox people off nicotine, which I was willing to do. Because of my left sided stroke, my right arm was in EXTREME pain and the dr didn’t see me for 5 days. THEIR DOCTOR prescribed me Suboxone. Then I got pulled in and told they don’t give that medication there and I told them I needed it, so unfortunately I needed to go to a different place. They said okay and sat me in the social workers office to make calls. One of the therapists (Jeremy) daughter came and said she was leaving in 15 mins and if I wanted a ride, she could help. I told her I didn’t think I’d be ready by then and I was trying to call places. In 15 mins she came back and said I needed to go. I told her I wasn’t packed and we hadn’t found a place and she said I had to find a place on the way out and leave immediately! I panicked. I had been through so much. Because I wasn’t packed by the 15 mins and was just having a panic attack, she told me that because I wasn’t leaving that she was calling police!. 6 cop cars showed up like I was going wild. I walked out and got a ride from them. UTaAC didn’t help me find anywhere to go and discharged me to the street after I had a stroke and heart attack just because I asked about going somewhere else. It was cruel and they were so EXTRA and programs do this! If you even talk about not wanting to be there, they kick you to the curb and don’t give ANY resources. I was actually happy and excited about finally getting trauma work done, just to be kicked out for asking for options. These programs need to be held liable for doing this to people, especially when someone is so medically vulnerable. I’ve been passed around to places just because they don’t know what to do with a disabled adult. What terrible people! AND they’re SUPER LDS and the head therapist thinks he knows EVERYTHING and he’s soo cocky about it and there’s things he said that were FOR SURE incorrect. Very closed minded program and their beds were bunk beds and 7 women in one room on beds that weren’t even the right ones put together and one had a ladder that was loose and you up and had to duck to avoid the fan hitting you. It seemed like a great place but the people that run it are horrible. Even the police officer was confused why they were being so harsh and called them “d—-s” They acted like I had broken a very serious rule and deserved to be kicked out… so dramatic for nothing. Jeremy and his daughter shouldn’t be in charge of anyone’s program.

Utah trauma and addiction centers changed my life. I've never been to rehab before not knowing what to expect. I show up and it's on a very nice property with horses. I was impressed. I came in with a drug, alcohol, and… suicidal attempts. I was broken. I learned I didn't really have a drug and alcohol problem I had a problem with myself, I didn't love myself, I didn't accept who I was. My therapist James Raburn was the best thing that happened to me in rehab. I've been with other therapist I didn't feel like they cared about me they were just doing their therapist thing, Not James he actually cared about me and listened to me. He showed how flawed my thoughts toward my self were And alot more. I recommend this place I think you will too!

This place was transformative for me. I self admitted to focus on working through a history of trauma, shame, and problematic sexual behavior. James Raburn was my therapist, and although I was unsure of our… compatibility at first, he exceeded expectations and really helped me get the care I needed. We practiced EMDR, individual talk sessions, Couples betrayal therapy, as well as moving through the program each day which included multiple group sessions with the fellow residents, various 12-step meetings, and personal assignments. If you are thinking of giving this program a try, I would highly encourage it. It will require you to surrender what you think your recovery “needs” to look like, and really show up and challenge yourself and behavior in ways you haven’t. Some moments are frustrating - on weekends there are no therapists or professionals in house and you are under the care of a “tech” who is often younger than you. It requires humility, patience, and self determination to change and accept the flow of the program. But because of this place, I’ve seen incredible results in my wellbeing, self image, and emotional coping skills, as well as in the recovery of my relationship since graduating and I am grateful to the resident therapists - James, Jeremy, all the staff who helped make my recovery possible.

The director texted mother saying it is her fault if I don't get help and kill myself or get worse. This has her completely upset as any mother would be. Completely unprofessional considering I'm 19 and don't even live… in the same state as them. I just saw this and i am mortified by your response. Im blown away that you think it is okay to respond this way. I never even said ANY of the things you are claiming. Like you said, it was 15 minutes of our lives. If you are considering this facility i would definitely look elsewhere.

I just wanted to say that I loved Utah trauma and addiction center. They made me feel at home and safe. I loved spending time with the horses it always helped put me in a good mood. Jeremy was my therapist he was… amazing. James was another therapist he always made groups interesting with his humor. Also an excellent therapist. I wish that we could have rode the horses, they were helpful to have either way. One thing I would like to recommend is a Chef. Our diets were left up to the residents to cook and they were not always the healthiest. They were none the less amazing and I would go there again if ever needed and I would highly recommend them as well. I would like to say I am still clean and sober and with my children as well as still in school. Thank you UTAC!

This place is incredible and can change lives. James Raburn was exactly what I needed. He pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me address all of my past while giving me the support I needed to grow from it and… let it go. He helped me to see the value in myself once again. James is tough and will put you in hard situations, but will always have your back and help you to grow through those things and gain confidence that you can get through them. He gives you a safe place to address hard realities that we deal with in life, so that you are prepared to face them head on in the real world.

James Raburn has truly been the driving force behind some of the biggest positive changes in my life. I wouldn’t be writing this review if I didn’t genuinely believe that I’m in a far better place today because of his… guidance, honesty, and support. Over the past three years, I haven’t always been the easiest patient. It took real patience, consistency, and straightforward conversations to help me get where I am now. James has been there for me at all times — and I mean all times. He doesn’t just go through the motions; he shows up. If you’re looking for someone who will hold you accountable, call you out when needed, and still make it clear that he truly cares about you as a person, James is that person. You’ve made a lasting impact on my life, and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you James! I think you’re an amazing person and friend!

Aloha, I completed this program in November of 2025. I am currently In Outpatient care and doing very well in my recovery. My time a UTAC was a rollercoaster ride in Regards to my own trauma and addictions however… because of the amazing staff there I was able to do the work I needed to recognize and push through, using the tools and skills I developed . My therapist was James; at first I was just along for the ride, some how James was able to get me to a point where I was able to open up, trust, share and ultimately give me hope for a better future. James used his funny personality, compassion for his work, knowledge, skills and the grace it takes to believe and support another human in the space they are in at the time when everything in their life is unbearable and out of control. Thank you James for believing in me! Best therapist on the EARTH! I highly recommend this program for those suffering from life and all its lemons. Mahalo to the UTAC team…

I was looking for a treatment center for my friend who was in jail. I was very overwhelmed and getting very discouraged. I called Jeremy and was very offended and upset by his attitude and unwillingness to help. I got… the impression this place is too good for people who are in jail. Unless the patient is perfect and highly highly motivated to get sober then they won’t be accepted into their program. Well most addicts that are currently using don’t feel that they really need help so finding a highly highly motivated addict is almost impossible! I don’t know how they get any patients here unless of course weren’t in jail at the time in which I’m sure Jeremy had a nicer more accepting willing to help attitude. Thanks Jeremy you were almost the last straw. If I didn’t love and care about my friend as much as I do I would have just gave up after talking with you!!! Call someplace else if your needing truly caring accepting people and treatment center.

My brother Joshua was fortunate enough to be able to stay here for 40 days. He's doing so much better, he's sober and hopeful. He was released prematurely due to insurance/paperwork error, and Jeremy and Darrin were so… kind and understanding. My brother has said nothing but positive things about the environment and the way he was treated. He feels that he was seen. He feels heard. He feels understood. We will always be thankful for his care, and his future now seems so promising. Thank you to everyone who runs and operates this safe haven. 🙏

Utah Addiction Centers truly saved my life. When I arrived, I was so spiritually bankrupt. I was truly a mess. I was battling my Mother's death and my Fiancé suicide. By the time I graduated the program, I was a strong… empowered woman who found her center and spirituality again. I was transferred to Active Recovery in Centerville. I went from being homeless and hopeless to getting my own place and employment I love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the counselors and support personnel. This is a safe place of healing and love. Hope starts here! I recommend it to anyone who wants to start over. One phone call could change your life, it did mine. I will be eternally grateful 🙏 🥲

Utah Trauma has made a lasting impact on how I see myself and the way I treat the world. The amount of knowledge I gained from my stay at this treatment center is unreal. My initial intention when I landed at Utah… Trauma was to create a much needed foundation I could grow from. Im writing this 2 weeks into the real world so the afterglow is still very strong from everything I gained from my experience at this house. I expected a very surface level of foundation than what I actually have now. I was more seeking a physical security rather than the emotional structure I now have. I feel more confident shaping my future with the tools I learned at Utah Trauma than I ever planned. Fully immersing myself into the world of self growth that this place had to offer opened my eyes to more truths about my past than I really imagined. Jumping into an inpatient treatment center has a ton of variables. The way this house is setup makes for so much more actual real world life lessons than the previous program I sat thru. I always felt a true level of compassion from the people that ran Utah Trauma during my stay no matter how hard it was for me to face whatever truth I was being presented. I couldn't have asked for more from this treatment facility. No matter the drama within the clients there was always a deep level of respect for how each patient felt about what was happening within the culture and I cant emphasize this enough. It's difficult to see passed the emotional lenses when drama is faced head on. Jeremy had an awesome approach with every person at this facility during my time here.

I would have rated 4 stars but at the end of the day they're a business so you will be treated to their standards and I was treated well. Other than that I had a mixed, complicated experience. You should know about the… type of residents who reside there, mostly severe drug addicts, convicts and people with severe trauma and suicidal tendencies so living with a bunch of strangers who mostly are there because of legal issues and not so much that they're truly trying to turn their life around is going to cause drama. There's a lot of house and client issues that it interferes with group therapy. There's a lot of needy, complaining, immature clients that make it difficult for the ones who are willing there and committed to the program and truly seeking help and change. Every now and than there's also favoritism among the clients, therapists and interns who put in hours there. They don't hire people for chore duties or meal cooks so clients have to participate in all that among other activities such as going to AA meetings and gym time along with the strict rules they ( which nobody follows, rules are broken, people are held accountable but there's no disciplinary action until it's reached totally out of control than you're kicked out) but I found all this truly beneficial trying to also have some order and discipline in my life. It's a fairly, decent, classic type of home, nothing modern. They have equine horse therapy in which they have 2 lovely, friendly horses and my favorite a donkey named Nacho. On the bright side, it's a lovely home, beautiful landscaping all around the house, beautiful views of Eagle Mountain, Saratoga and UT County Lake which I found very therapeutical. The owners did a very good job in designing and constructing the home along with it's location. Shout out to the staff who work there (Darron, Callie and Avery) in which they're family but they're very nice and professional and you will be taken care of no matter what you got going on. Try to make sure you're type of insurance is "in network" first especially the Medicaid plans cause it sucks to get admitted but have to leave because you're insurance didn't cover the stay but they will still try their hardest to make things work out. I especially want to shout out my therapist James. He truly cares, he handles himself professionally but yet he's laid back and super funny. Apart from him being my therapist I found his groups more enjoyable and knowledgeable. Also want to mention that this type of program is mostly based on "group therapy" rather than the one on one personal therapy with the therapist. Shout out to Jeremy as well, life changing experience with the EMDR therapy and truly inspirational therapists, I myself have always loved psychology and working with them truly inspired and motivated me to perhaps get into this type of field. Much love and respect on how they orchestrated the program. My family and I see and feel the change and how I've grown and learned but recognize that it was just an awesome stepping stone towards my journey to continue on a successful recovery.

I am really grateful i went to this treament program for two months. It really brought to light my morals, values and inner strength. The program allowed me to adjust to circumstancrs that were not mentally comfortable… which ended up making me appreciate things more. Today i can say i have more mental clarity and inner peace because of how the utah trauma and addiction centers challenged my trauma and flawed psychological traits. I am thankful for my time there.

This is the best treatment I have ever received! I never thought it was possible to be this happy and have this much tenacity to continue my recovery. I learned independence, accountability and fortitude. I learned… helpful skills, strategies and information other programs have never taught me! The staff is committed to your recovery. Jeremy, my therapist, changed my view of the world. I cannot express how grateful I am for his dedication to my recovery. If you are truly committed to getting better, this is the place to go. The technique of healing through trauma WORKS! I was also able to find my higher power through working the 12 steps. In addition, even though I was concerned about the co-ed aspect, the environment of living in a house with people from all different walks of life was crucial to my recovery. If you want to get better go to Utah Trauma and Addiction Center and put in the work.

I came for help with my past trauma and addiction needs and they were meet and more. I would… recommend Utah trama and addiction center with theirs professional staff and the program they follow along with the 12 step program. Bravo.

What an amazing experience. I found exactly what I was looking for… I needed god, and the staff here helped me find my way. James was my therapist, and needless to say (with all the bullshit I brought) he gave me the… tools to navigate and surrender to my disease. With the help of these amazing people- I’ve now found peace and the strength to take conscious control of my life. Thank you Darron and Jeremy for giving me shelter when I needed it. If you’re seeking a truly remarkable program and results- this is place to come.

UTAC is such an amazing place to start your recovery journey at. I've had such an amazing stay and I enjoyed every second being in residential. I recommend staying at UTAC.. The therapist care a lot about your recovery… and have done an amazing job with my recovery. If I could rate more than 5 stars I would. Also James has such a cool shoe game. I just wanted to say again thank you again. I could not be more thankful for my experience. all of the workers are caring and are just wonderful to be around. Jeremy was my therapist and I could have not asked for a better therapist tp start my recovery journey. Thank you again UTAC.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support I received from my therapist James during my recovery from pornography addiction. From our very first session, I felt a sense of understanding and compassion… that made it easier to open up about my struggles. James provided a safe and non-judgmental space where I could explore the underlying issues contributing to my addiction. His expertise and tailored approach helped me develop effective coping strategies and healthier habits. I appreciated his patience and encouragement throughout the process, which made a significant difference in my journey. Thanks to his guidance, I have gained valuable insights into myself and have made substantial progress in my recovery. I now feel more empowered and equipped to face challenges head-on. I highly recommend James to anyone seeking support in overcoming similar struggles. He truly has a gift for helping others heal and grow. Thank you for everything!

UTAC has and continues to be a positive influence on my life. They brought me in from New York when the people there were telling me there were no options for my care and helped me see my weaknesses, struggles, and how… to have hope.
