Rehabs That Take Hometown Health

Hometown Health is a health plan based in Reno, Nevada, owned by Renown Health. It offers employer group, individual and Medicare Advantage coverage, including Senior Care Plus, mostly to members in northern Nevada. Its plans can include coverage for drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits that vary by plan, provider network and level of care.

The centers on this page, in Nevada and South Dakota, name Hometown Health on their websites. Out-of-state care can be handled differently from care in northern Nevada, so ask the facility how it bills Hometown Health. Then call the plan to ask about network status, prior authorization and copays for your specific plan.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Hometown Health cover rehab?

Yes. Hometown Health plans cover medically necessary inpatient and outpatient alcohol and substance use services, including acute medical detoxification, rehabilitation and counseling, under the 2026 individual and family evidence of coverage. What you pay and which programs are in network depend on whether you hold an HMO, EPO, PPO or Senior Care Plus plan.

Hometown Health sells only in Nevada, mainly the northern counties, so call customer service at 775-982-3232 to ask how your plan handles a specific level of care.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Hometown Health cover detox?

Yes, detoxification is covered. Plan documents describe acute medical detoxification as ridding the body of toxins, monitoring vital signs and managing withdrawal symptoms, and place it among covered inpatient and outpatient substance use services. Inpatient detoxification requires prior authorization, and any hospital inpatient stay needs notification within 24 hours.

Authorization runs through Hometown Health's own utilization management team at 775-982-3232 or 800-336-0123, with a prior authorization fax of 775-982-3744.

Medical Detoxhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/detox-centers/medical-detox/
Does Hometown Health cover inpatient or residential rehab?

Yes, residential care is covered. Inpatient benefits include alcohol and substance use rehabilitation delivered in a hospital, a residential treatment facility or a day treatment program when medically necessary. Inpatient mental health and inpatient detoxification need prior authorization; residential treatment does not appear as its own line on the authorization matrix.

Cost sharing varies by plan: the 2026 Hometown Gold EPO charges 20% coinsurance for inpatient behavioral care, while the AHP Renown Platinum HMO charges $2,000 per stay.

Hometown Health is a not-for-profit health plan based in Reno that sells HMO, EPO and PPO coverage to Nevada employers and families, administers self-funded employer groups, and runs Medicare Advantage under the Senior Care Plus name. Addiction treatment is a covered benefit across those lines, and because the plan writes and manages the benefit in-house, the same Reno customer service number handles questions about detox, a residential admission or a therapy copay.

Ownership changed on February 3, 2026, when a joint venture closed that gave Kaiser Permanente a majority interest in the plan alongside Renown Health, which founded it in 1988. Hometown Health insurance, benefits, ID cards and phone numbers stay the same through 2026, with new Kaiser Permanente Nevada plan options offered at fall 2026 open enrollment for the 2027 plan year and the name reported to change on January 1, 2027.

This guide sets out which levels of addiction care the plan documents cover, where prior authorization applies and where it does not, what the 2026 schedules charge for behavioral health on several named plans, how medication for opioid and alcohol use disorder is paid for, and how to work out whether a program in Nevada holds a contract for the plan on the card.
