I came to Be Bold expecting a structured 2.5 PHP like the program I was at before. That was not my experience. No meals are provided. I asked for help getting my ID and did not receive assistance. I have only met with… my counselor for a few minutes to complete a generic treatment plan, not individualized counseling. The recovery housing has no on-site manager that I have seen, and I have observed residents drinking on the porch without consequence. If you need a program with hands-on case management, ID help, meals, and structured housing oversight, this was not it for me. I would like to update this review, to say that now they are denying a med pass that I put in weeks in advance for the appointment for my sublocade shot. That directly affects my recovery and I will not be missing that appointment. This place is not it for recovery.
Great program! Great teachers, housing, and lessons. 12 step program. Learned coping skills, Diid both of the programs there!! Nothing but the best!
I’ve been through recovery programs before, but my experience at BeBold was genuinely different. There were some people there who made a real impact on me, and there were others who… well, let’s just say they made the… experience more interesting than it needed to be. First, Cassius deserves ALL the kudos. He is hands-down one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in a recovery program. He’s patient, understanding, and actually knows how to make you think instead of just sitting there listening to someone talk at you. He opened my eyes to things I honestly never would have considered before, and I’m genuinely grateful for that. Now let’s talk about my absolute favorite BHT, Reigna. That girl is a whole vibe. She was funny, cool, genuine, and knew how to make people feel comfortable. But beyond that, she was there for me when I really needed someone. One day I was struggling HARD and seriously wanted to use. Reigna shared her own story with me, and I truly believe that if she hadn’t done that, I might have made a very different decision that day. That girl may have literally saved me. I will never forget that. In a place where people are fighting some of the hardest battles of their lives, having someone like Reigna who can connect with you on a human level matters more than she probably realizes. And Krystal, the medical assistant, is beautiful, hilarious as hell, and somehow manages to make even the medical side of things feel a little less stressful. Now… we need to talk about Danesha, because unfortunately, she was the one person who could take an otherwise positive experience and completely suck the air out of the room. Her attitude toward me was consistently unpleasant. The dirty looks, the condescending tone, the unnecessary attitude—it all made me feel like I was being judged rather than supported. And in a recovery environment, that is the last thing somebody needs. What really got under my skin was the apparent double standard. I was told my clothes were “too revealing,” while other girls could walk around wearing what appeared to be essentially the same thing—short shorts, tube tops, etc.—and Danesha suddenly seemed to develop selective eyesight. If there is a dress code, enforce it consistently. If there are rules, they should apply to everyone—not just the people you personally decide to police. And honestly, Danesha’s biggest issue wasn’t even the dress-code situation. It was the way she made me feel. There is a huge difference between enforcing a rule professionally and making someone feel embarrassed, unwelcome, or like they’re a problem for simply existing in the space. A BHT working with people in recovery should understand that. I can handle someone having a bad day. I can handle somebody being strict. What I can’t respect is someone repeatedly treating people with an attitude while working in an environment where compassion, patience, and emotional support should be part of the job description. Reigna made me feel like I was worth fighting for. Danesha made me feel like I was an inconvenience. That contrast says everything. BeBold itself gets my recommendation because there are genuinely good people there who care, and those people made a real difference in my recovery. Cassius, Reigna, and Krystal are examples of the kind of staff who can make someone’s experience meaningful. I would absolutely go back to BeBold. I’d just strongly prefer to do it without Danesha. If management is reading this: please understand that people in recovery remember how you make them feel. The right staff can literally change the trajectory of someone’s life. Reigna did that for me. Staff members who make patients feel judged, singled out, or unwelcome can do the exact opposite. So yes—BeBold gets my recommendation. Cassius gets a standing ovation. Reigna gets a million stars. Krystal gets an honorable mention for being hilarious. And Danesha gets a very enthusiastic “please reconsider your career choice.”
Mr. Todd the clinical director and my son's therapist Mrs Antoinette really came through for my son. They truly have his best interest and recovery at heart.
Be bold Recovery , Recognizes each of their clients and their individualities and constantly looking for better ways to support!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BeBold Recovery is an exceptional recovery center with a staff that genuinely cares about the people they serve. They treat everyone with dignity, compassion, and respect while providing the structure,… encouragement, and accountability needed during recovery. What stands out most is their commitment to the whole person—not merely the addiction. They create a safe and supportive environment where people can be honest, work through difficult issues, and begin rebuilding their lives. The sense of community and personal attention makes a meaningful difference. I am truly grateful for BeBold Recovery and the positive impact they are making in Norfolk. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking compassionate, professional support for themselves or someone they love.

I love B Bold..I glad I made the decision to come here ..They help u with things you need to succeed in your recovery.
The program far exceeds my expectations so far. I've been to detox, residential rehabs, and iop programs, but I wanted to try something that would adjust me to living on my own so I chose the php program here at bebold.… I didn't know what to expect, so ill give a short description: you will live in a house with a curfew of 7pm for the first 2 weeks and 9pm in the weeks following. They will help set up transportation to the school where you will go to classes that teach about recovery from 9am-3pm with a lunch break that provides food around noon. The whole program is 6-8 weeks and then they help you transition to iop. My house has 10 people in it and it is really nice! The people are friendly, I feel like my belongings are safe and the chores are split equally and there is no issue or conflict with cleanliness. I am very happy in my house, it is functional and fun! They definitely provide a stable foundation for a transition into living on my own when I complete all levels of these programs. The school is honestly easy to engage in, and I have a pretty short attention span, so to whoever is reading do not be intimidated by how much of the day it is, it will go by quick and you will also have 1 day off either Saturday or Sunday. The staff is helpful, but this is a program that allows you a lot of freedom and I would recommend it for someone who is ready to take on more responsibility. If you are at a place in life where you feel you have lost control completely and need to take the first steps, I would recommend going to detox at vb psych or even a residential rehab first. But I would absolutely recommend bebold to anyone looking to regain control over their life, it is a very comfortable, clean, organized, and pleasant environment to readjust to sober living. Thank you to the staff and house manager for the opportunity to learn and grow my sober life skills in this wonderful house and facility!
Great services for this struggling with addiction, definitely recommend.
BeBold recovery is a great start to recovery and a new fresh start in life. Great staff members and associates 😀
I am in Miss Alexis' class and is the best group I've ever taken.I have gotten more out of her group and just a few days that I have any group
this is a great program and I believe everybody could benefit from it , I absolutely love it here
