GenPsych – Avenel

I was apprehensive about having my 13 y/o in a PHP. I was beyond pleasantly surprised with her experience. She struggles with school avoidance but went through the whole program here and wanted to go! I highly… recommend..She attended the program in Livingston.

My daughter came to gen psyche for ADD counseling program. Her grades improved to mostly A's. The teacher said shes doing a lot better.

My daughter did very well in this program. The staff & program were intense & amazing . My daughters therapist was amazing, the psychiatrist was as well. I cannot think of a negative. She made great progress in her time… there & after graduating she has continued to do well. I would highly recommend this program for teens with mental health issues.

I first thought that wouldn’t have fun there at all due to it affecting my school attendance and grades. Although unexpectedly, I had fun! The therapists are sweet and helpful as they mention the amount of topics like… DBT, CBT, and the creative fun stuff they do on Fridays. The social workers there are very creative and helpful as well, and the kids there were kind! I thought I was going to feel out of place, but in the end, I managed my way and fit in perfectly. I’m glad that I got to experience this moment.

GenPsych Avenel has been a wonderful, difficult, and worthy experience. DBT is something that you have to actively practice and put effort into if you want to get something out of it, it works if you work it. I’ve… really enjoyed the program and all that it entails. They helped me changed my perspective, learn to give myself more grace, and to remember that I need to put the oxygen mask on myself before I can take care of anybody else. Healing is supposed to be a messy, beautiful, fragile, difficult process. If it were easy, wouldn’t everyone be doing it already?

Very helpful place, and safe environment... my therapist pays full attention to our conversations, and that's already a plus!

Thad an absolutely amazing experience at GenPsych! I had no idea what to expect, or how this place was going to help me. But I was desperate. I no longer had any desire to participate in my own life. I needed help. I… came in physically shaking, severely anxious and beyond depressed. The Psych Nurse Practitioner, each and every counselor, and all the therapists have been truly amazing! They were all kind, caring and extremely compassionate. I never once felt judged. The skills l've learned here will be carried throughout my life. The entire experience has been a tremendous blessing in my life, and I will forever be grateful. I came in scared, hopeless and full of fear. I was merely existing. I now look forward to what life has to offer. I look forward to waking up in the morning and see what the day will bring. I have a whole new appreciation for my family, my life, my children and my job. I feel like a whole new and empowered woman. I cannot be any more grateful for this experience. I will miss everyone, including the connections I have made with the other clients/patients while I was there. They have truly become friends with a special bond and strong ties. I will remember each and every one with only fond memories. We've shared our struggles, our tears and our laughter. We've built each other up, and there's no looking back. My heart is filled with gratitude for the existence of this place called GenPsych.

Terrible service, they change shifts every hour, the workers work under torture conditions

You can not get in touch with anyone in this office. They don't return calls.or emails. And they do not care if you are without medication. Do not recommend **** EDIT. They gave absolutely no problem getting in touch… with you if you have an outstanding balance. 5x text emails and phone calls a day. Disgracefully ghosted patient then pop up months later and hound for money.

Have left messages with Saidin Ubpon for weeks, no response. Others there don’t seem to care as well. Very poorly run business.

When I first arrived, I had a pleasant experience with Christine Bowman. I am happy with the experience of the counselor Dylan and have seen progress for my child.
