White Light Behavioral Health – Columbus Detox and Rehab Services

What White Light Behavioral Health – Columbus offers, on record, is detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Pleaseee please if you or someone you know needs help and is struggling with addiction and/or mental health DO NOT go to White Light Behavioral Health in Columbus, OH. My experience there was a nightmare from when they… got me in the door on Wednesday 3/6/24 at 1 am. The place was an absolute mess, filthy, and a health hazard was the least of it. The “staff” is what i will call them (not nurses, directors, therapists, supervisors) i dont know if they in fact had any credentials. They did not know what they were doing. No doctors on site, confusion 24/7 as to the medications patients were given. I arrived so late and they said i can make my “Safe Call” the next morning. Fast forward they threw me into a room and took all of my belongings and locked it up. They gave me medication when i arrived that I did not know what it was. Lets just say from that point on once they get you inside you are thrown on your own. Thursday morning came and I got the roundabout no one would let me use a phone and they all were telling me to go to this person and that one and the next. I dont even know how to summarize the disaster I endured for 5 days crying and trying to reach my family was impossible. They all are liars and use manipulation tactics to push you around. My family was on my release forms so that they can call and know everything going on and what the plan was. My family called everyday and was completely lied to. They never told me my family was calling. I am more traumatized than when i walked in. I tried getting myself some proper help only to be left in a worse position. Everyone is either new or training because all the people before either quit if they had somewhat of a heart or they got fired. I am disgusted by the treatment and feel terrible for others who are stuck there. They need to be shut down!!! Now I see the reviews coming through they are having staff members write positive reviews! This makes me sick!!! These are some of the names who were awful and manipulated and tried pushing me around. MsAnnette, Ms Marley, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Rhonda, Ms Laurie, Ms Shaayan, Dr Wakim who I am trying to get a hold of who i saw for 1 min over skype and now is MIA. They always have their badges turned around and texting eachother so they can tell one another who is on to them. I met a man who is brand new who was doing a group, Mr Mitchell he was amazing I can tell he truly cares, I guarantee he will not stay there after seeing how the other staff treats patients. Please stay away from White Light!

If you need to detox from drugs or alcohol this absolutely is not the place you want to go. I barely saw or spoke to any staff the whole time I was there which was only 24 hours but the vibe was just way off. I told… them I wanted to leave and nobody spoke to me for like 8 hours at all. If you need help don't go here.

A few BHTs got sticky fingers and management sticks up for them by twisting and trying to fill you with your past! Instead of confronting staff it's about excuses! It's went downhill..

I was there for treatment for alcohol. Abuse I ended up having a seizure while there and had a hospital stay which led me into a physical rehab facility. Tried getting my stuff from white light was like going through… hell just to get your belongings once I did get my belongings items were missing trying to get a hold of someone from white light is like Two Two now just doesn’t happen. I am still missing shoes brand new shirts still in the packaging brand new undershirt still in the packaging brand new socks in the packaging about $200 worth of stuff with no answer. Can’t get a hold of anyone nor where they call back. Just don’t understand this place wouldn’t recommend.

DO NOT GO HERE. THIS IS MY THIRD AND FINAL REVIEW. I HAVE WROTE TWO OTHERS. THIS PLACE IS GETTING SHUT DOWN AS OF JUNE 1ST. THEY ARE TRYING TO HEARD AS MANY PEOPLE IN AS THEY CAN TO TRY TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY CAN… BEFORE THEIR DOORS ARE CLOSED. EVERY SINGLE REVIEW ABOUT THIS PLACE ENDED UP BEING 100% ACCURATE. I WISH I HAD NEVER COME TO THEIR PROGRAM. I KNEW THAT THERE WAS FRAUD GOING ON FROM SAY ONE. I HAD NO CLUE HOW BAD IT WAS UNTIL THEY KICKED ME OUT FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. BUT NOW I KNOW THE REASON IS RETALIATION FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PLACE AND FOR THE REVIEWS I LEFT. THEY WILL LITERALLY LEAVE YOU WITH NO WHERE TO GO. I AM SO VERY LUCKY AND BLESSED THAT I HAVE AN AMAZING SUPPORT SYSTEM. I AM SO SCARED FOR THOSE THAT ARE TRYING TO GET AND STAY SOBER THAT DO NOT HAVE A GOOD SUPPORT SYSTEM TO FALL BACK ON. IF YOU HAVE BEEN WRONGED BY THIS PLACE PLEASE GET A MEDICAL MAL PRACTICE ATTORNEY. THE MORE OF US THE BETTER. I DO NOT PERSONALLY CARE HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE. I AM JUST HAPPY THAT I WILL BE HEARD. I AM ACTIVELY PRAYING FOR MY FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN RECOVERY THAT HAVE BEEN WRONGED BY THIS PLACE. KEEP YOUR HEADS UP MY FRIENDS.

If you care about your mental health and/sobriety DO NOT GO TO White Lights Behavioral Health. ESPECIALLY if you are going there because of your mental health. I am currently a patient here and will update this review… IF things change. This place is a chaotic disaster. It is absolutely the WORST decision I have ever made. They promise you the sun the moon and the starts just to get you to their building. Even begging to come pick you up that very moment. I was worried about some of the reviews I saw so when I contact them back asking about some of the reviews they assured me over and over again that it was just disgruntled ex patients that didn’t get their way. Not a single thing on their website is accurate. And anything that they tell you at 4040 E Broad St is not at all what actually happens at the next “phase.” You have physical health problems it’s even worse. Although I told them all of the physical health problems before I came I was assure that they could easily work with all of them. I came here mainly to wean quicker off of a prescription med that I wanted to come off of faster than I could out patient. I told them I REALLY needed good mental healthcare. I explained that I was leaving an evening DBT IOP program to come and wanted to make sure that (due to a ton of doctors appts for my physical health) they had flexible hours and group times. I was promised that they had PHP and Both daytime and evening IOP classes. I was sold because they offer “supportive housing” to those in ANY of their programming. At 4040 I met with a therapist 2 times. Once when I got there and once right before I left to go to their 4300 building. I was told I would be going into IOP. I have only had ONE individual therapy session in the 5 weeks I have been here. I have very real concerns about my mental health and how badly it is deteriorated since choosing to go into their detox. But all of my concerns have been met with crickets. Why am I still here you may ask…….well coming here knowing that they offer supportive housing was a huge perk. I had an apartment. But it was a pretty emotionally abusive roommate situation so I thought hey why not get all the mental health help I can while I’m waiting for my disability to kick in so I can get my own place. I felt kind of bad leaving my roommate high and dry with essentially no notice. But I felt secure because of all the LIES told to me on the website and on the phone. PLEASE do your research and ask as many questions as you can. So far I have not received any DBT or EMDR therapy. Nor do I think anyone actually has the credentials to do those specific types of therapy. I can’t even go in person to talk to anyone because the elevator in the building where group is held continuously breaks down with and without people on it. And group is on the 3rd floor of that building. After speaking to the fire Marshall and the owner of the building I found out that the owner has received so many complaints from nearby businesses due to theft from the clients at WLBH that businesses in the area have actually started a petition to try and get WL kicked out. The owner refuses to fix the elevator because he wants to sell the building but no one wants to buy it with WLBH as a tenant. If you have any long amount of clean time this is not the place for you. They govern by fear that they will kick you out of your apartment if you don’t follow their rules. When you do advocate for yourself or say whoa wait a minute that is NOT what I agreed to you are told that you “complain a lot” and “we give you more leeway than I have ever seen any other client get.” Well is it because I know my rights…yeah I do! And heads up their PHP is SEVEN days a wk. on transport by 7:15a don’t get home until 5:30. Plus they want you to do 5 mtgs a week! If you actually need mental health treatment and not to sit in an AA Meeting for 8 hours a day 7 days a week DO NOT COME TO WLBH. I feel so sick and so stuck here now because of what I was told. You are just a $$$ to them. Some staff are awesome and feel the same way I do!

Their detox and residential program is amazing. Heather and January are the two best BHT providers I have ever met. A.D. and Corey are the go to ppl if I need anything and the entire staff care about recovery and are… empathetic as ppl come. And Marla and Deana are the best Therapists in the business they are saving lives. It’s not easy but it is so worth it and the best decision I have ever made. Ten out of ten recommended treatment program. Thank you White Light!

This program is horrible, they talk to you like trash and when you write a grievance against them nothing ever happens. I had to get out of my seat on the transportation for someone else and it made me feel like trash.… they don’t provide you with anything besides toilet paper. i would not suggest this program in my worst enemy.

Recovery works best when Jesus is applied to the Circumstance, instead of choosing a higher power, MAKE JESUS your higher power and watch the addiction break. Its a mental issue I struggle with Meth, the day I gave my… ;life to Christ it was GONE 100%. No treatment gone. Jesus can do that as well for you. This is a good stepping stone for sure but let Jesus be first in your life and watch what he Can Do.

I wouldn't even give a star if I didn't have a option... this place is HORRIBLE. THEY'RE ONLY ABOUT ALLL THE MONEY. THEY give no shit about people. They lie to you to get your money. I was told I was going to detox they… drove two hours to come get me and then my treatment place was suppose to come get me 5-7 days after detox but since I wouldn't take no subxone they kicked me down to there treatment downstairs when I never agreed to that They wouldn't let me use the phone. I literally had to walk out on Thanksgiving walk to the local UDF and they let me call my family to come get me I sat there 4 hours until my family was able to get to me. I go and pick my stuff up... which I should of checked it before I left. My bad. But I get.home. they kept my purse, all my cards, identification, and tablet. Then trying to get ahold of them cannot get in direct contact with them to get my stuff. They are horrible!!!!!
