About Mental Health Clinic – Fall River

Mental Health Clinic is located at 160 Osborn Street in Fall River, within a few minutes of North Westport and Somerset. Anyone within about 4 miles can reach it without a major journey, which takes in North Westport, Somerset, Tiverton and Ocean Grove. Fall River sits in Bristol County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

Services run to intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Approved medication runs alongside counseling, which is what medication-assisted treatment means in practice. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Some contact can happen by video rather than in person. Trauma-specific treatment is available here. Licensing sits with the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, alongside federal SAMHSA registration.

How Much Does Treatment at Mental Health Clinic – Fall River Cost?

Self-pay rehab in Massachusetts typically works out at $270 to $900 a day for medical detox and $50 to $200 a day for standard outpatient care. No prices were found for Mental Health Clinic at the time of writing, so the daily figures are typical state costs.

In most programs the fee includes medical monitoring, the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling. Nothing from Mental Health Clinic itself was found on this, so that is an assumption. Ask for a tailored price and what it includes.

Clinicians are lacking in ability to assist people. During my ~6 months I was with CFS I was advised to start selling plasma to stave of poverty while waiting for a disability decision I did not believe would succeed.… When I went the plasma facility I learned I would not be eligible because of a hospitalization my clinition was aware of. My clinician tried to schedule me for testing for an autism diagnosis but the facility they chose only did "rule out screenings" and could not actually provide diagnosis. During my last meeting I said "I feel like I'm not going here for myself anymore, I'm only doing this because you want me to" and my clinician (very warmly) said "well, that's enough for me". I stopped going immediately. I ran out of money around when I expected to and had already accumulated credit card debit (which my clinician was aware was happening). To this day I have no idea what her plan was, what she was hoping to accomplish, or how anything that happened here was supposed to help me. Do not waste your time here. Though, if this is where you need to go for help odds are it's already too late.

Some poorly trained clinicians. Clinicians with limited understanding of autism and ADHD. Inexperience lends to biases and impacts quality of care. CFS is not affirming. Unreceptive to best practices. Staff more likely… to make assumptions than ask questions to better understand. Punitive and shame-based treatment. Some really great clinicians but ultimately the culture lends to harm due to limited understanding of neurodivergence. My child received better support from a private practice. Seek neuro-affirming clinicians. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or change clinicians if it is not a good fit.

They lost a lot of good staff during covid, but they still maintain the same core. With a history of reaching out to families who need help..

Their staff are kind and up-beat but as a mental health facility, it’s unfair to close someone’s case with a counselor because they missed three appointments in three months. For example, if you miss an appointment once… a month for three months in a row, they will take your Counselor away from you. It sounds like The company has a no forgiveness policy. I am new to having a counselor and having to go meet up every week and I am about to be without a counselor because I missed two appointments in the last 90 days. I feel like if you guys don’t have the emotional capacity to emphasize enough to give people more than three Appointments missed in three months before stripping them of the help that the sought out in the first place. To make it things worse I knew someone personally that took their life because of the situation specifically. It’s nice to know that the people that show up for work their care, but it seems like the people behind the business don’t. Please Do Better.

When you first walk in and approach the reception staff at the "check-in" window, you will find that the receptionists are exceptionally friendly and diligent. Once you become a regular client, they (the receptionists)… will actually recognize you and know who you are, and they will likely engage with you personally. You won't feel like you're being treated like "just another number..." They will make you feel comfortable right from the start... You are important! The clinicians and therapists at CFS are certified & qualified, helpful, friendly, and they really do care about the services they provide. Most of the clients that go to Child & Family Services continue their therapy regularly, and are satisfied. Just ask another client! The only down side is that presently (as of August 2019), there is only one child/family psychiatrist available. However, they are searching for and looking to hire new psychiatrists to cater to individual adults and clients. (*Some services can be provided via individual remote video conferencing "Telepsychiatry" consultation.) You will have to call CFS directly for more information.

Dr Marcus and my psychologist Bridgette are both kind and careing people. They listen well and offer sound and thoughtful advise. I would recommend them both to anyone. The clerical staff also does a great job as well.
