Was there last year all 3 phases ,the program curriculum put out there for us an the fruit of the spirit lesson was phenomenal thanks river place
Beautiful facility with kind and helpful staff! The housing is set up in a convenient way to focus clients towards recovery. Clean and healthy environment in housing and facility that promote a stable, trustworthy… environment for clients to grow in. Staff members are communicative and oriented towards clients first. Very serene and relaxing environment. 10/10 would recommend.
This guy Jared has real poor communication said he was holding a bed until the 30th but then just gave it to someone else.
Attended River place 1998. I'm still using the tools that I learned to this day to stay drug free. Great place to attend.
This place is owned by Serenity Village Community Church. Please do your research into them.
I just want to say counselor Vicki has such a huge amazing heart and someone who actually cares for her clients. You have been helping me so much and I appreciate it dearly. Sarah I love when you answer the phone your… so positive and u always get answers if there are questions. Thank you guys a ton.
Decent place if you work the program
This is the best place to go for treatment hands down! They take such good care of us addicted and make sure we have nice things! God bless riverplace!
Great program, great staff, wonderful clean facility and logging,I believe the person that oversees the whole program(director) is amazing, and I would recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction and Thank… you Jeff, for all the wonderful things you do and say.Its a prime example of a phenomenal ripple effect!! J.DURBIN
Amazing treatment love staff.
River place is in general an excellent program. Some of the counselors take on the role of psychotherapist. They often don't know the best course of action to take next for the client. Good location, there are better… options out there. The counselors take too much pride in their field. I feel they need to listen to their clients more. Stephen Johnson
EXCELLENT TREATMENT CENTER!!! THIS PLACE SAVED MY LIFE!!! 💙
Here is my honest and unbiased review of Riverplace Counseling Center based out of Anoa, MN. The facilities are very nice and clean, They do a good job of keeping things in working order and in shape and have a… phenomenal maintenance guy. The front desk admin assistant is very thorough and if asked for help is dependable and reliable. She has a get it done attitude. The tech staff is overall friendly and helpful with what clients need. As far as programming goes it could be better and more coordinated. Counselors are given the autonomy to present material and structure their groups as they see fit which is good when the counselors are competent, which about 75% of them seem to be. However, the ones who arent can make groups feel very elementary, mundane, and like nails on a chalk board. Creativity and planning goes a long ways in providing the most valuable experience in short time for clients. As far as individual attention goes, the outpatient portion of their programming seems to provide adequate attention and individual based planning. However, while in their IOP w/ lodging phase (which is essentially inpatient, get to that later) one on ones are not readily available and have to be asked for. Which is confusing to the client because compared to other programs, they do very little “social work” to speak as far as helping clients with needs outside of treatment and leave that solely on the client to take upon themselves. This can be difficult at times with limited computer availability, no cell phones allowed, and not alot of time during the business day to make calls. Fortunately, I had responsive counselors assigned to me and I am forward with my needs, however, a client who does not have those communication skills or gets one of the lesser counselors might struggle in getting their individual needs met. By far my disappointment here came in how they appear to be an operation in a state of constant transition. This was obvious through their lack of a handle on Covid protocols (15 months into the pandemic), constant change of rules, borderline false advertising, and shortage of staffing of techs. The lack of communication of expectations because it seems things are just decided at the top as they go leaves the techs and counselors in a tough spot with clients. And the most concerning thing I observed was the clinical director being completely out of bounds with her decisions, to a point that its a liability. Such as denying a patient his meds when it was discovered they had been misusing them. This is a very dangerous situation not just for the patient but for others around that patient given the nature of the meds. The clinical director has expertise in substance abuse counseling, not a doctorate degree in mental health or medicine, thus should probably stay in her lane. Also, be aware of the advertised structure of the program. “IOP w/ lodging” is essentially inpatient, extended care is a medium intensity halfway house, and their “freedom phase” is not a true sober house as its still GRH and the staff walks into your apartment whenever they see fit. When its staffed. It was not until 3⁄4 of the way through my stay that they staffed it 24/7 as required to comply with the state for funding. Also, do not expect the rules there to be consistent as some may be expelled for bringing substances into the house, while other wont be disciplined. And they will change policies that may have been a selling point for you to transition there vs another sober house halfway through your stay. Overall, if it werent for the couple close friends I made there and the handful of employees who do have it together, this would have been very miserable.
I owe this place my life
Riverplace has been exactly what I needed and more even! If you can trust the process and be patient with recovery you WILL succeed here!
Absolutely horrible.
It was a experience on how to live in a stable environment. Well I learned from mostly AA help .... The group's where good in the smaller rooms. When everyone got together a bit different but I ajusted. Great help from… all the staff . They all Rock On..... Thanks
If I could give them 10 stars i would! When I walked in the receptionist was super amazing and very friendly. The lobby is calming and very inviting with a fireplace , TV and coffee or water. Everyone of the staff going… in and out of offices never failed to say hello or how are you today. My chem evaluator was so caring and really took the time to know me and my situation. I really felt that they cared very much about my well being and not just trying to drag me into something I didn't need. As I was waiting for my ride home outside a group session got out. There was not one person who did not say hello to me or say how are you today?. The people coming out of group seemed really happy to be there. Not the usual " I am just here doing my time". If you really want to feel cared about as a person and not just a dollar sign this is the place to go. Also if you need help This is the place to go- you will be cared about as a person and not just a number.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! If you or a loved family member wants to get help THIS ISNT THE PLACE! A loved family member of mine went and was treated HORRIBLY!! He told me about how his councilor was racist and made a… racist comment while they were in group. The people do not care about really helping you they told the group they were "their paychecks". I would give this place 0 stars if I could. ALSO they told him they were going to put him in extended care and didn't tell him until the week before he was done that he was not going to be able to go to extended care and that he needed to find another place to go by Monday.
I will never forget
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. The director’s name is Val and she is a nightmare to say the least. 1. There is no gym equipment like the website says, there is no self defense classes like the website says, there is no… bedding.... The women’s treatment isn’t allowed to go to any outside AA meetings, there is no communication between all the staff. The Saturday activities that are promised each week are usually “taken away”. There is a bonfire pit used for therapy activities isn’t allowed to be used anymore. The content is outdated. I could go on and on. I’ve been to over 10 treatment centers in MN and this is absolutely the worst one.
!!!!!UPDATE!!!!! After filling a complaint with the state the counselor was fired for promoting racism and having sexual contact with several clients. I never received an apology from the staff. I was discharged after… filing this complaint by the counselor I was reporting. She told me she discharged me for missing classes that I never actually missed. I tried talking to the director Randy. Randy told me that he was going to talk to my counselor because they don't discharge clients for missing class they put them on probation first. He talked to my counselor but apparently my counselor said absolutely no to letting me stay and not get discharged. After getting discharged I started using again because I felt so betrayed. It took 2 years to trust another treatment center again and I finally got real help at Fairview. Been sober since. I filed a complaint with the MN Department of Human Services. I had my wallet stolen by a counselor. The same counselor admitted that she was a member of Minnesota Heathens, which is a religious cult that believes that the Caucasian race is superior to all other races. While in group the same counselor would talk about how she fantasized about killing people. I've seen clients get discharge clients for questioning the counselors erratic behavior. The owner P.T is very unprofessional. This treatment center is a for profit center that does not care about mold in the bathrooms or bedbugs in the rooms. They cut corners replacing broken appliances to save money. All they care about is the money they are putting in their pockets and they do not care about your sobriety. The staff like to argue with either and are very dysfunctional. While I was a client at Riverplace I felt very unsafe, unwelcome and ignored. I wrote a complaint to the director, Randy, about my counselor having inappropriate relationships with clients and it wasn't till I connected the Department of Human Services that they finally fired the counselor. I don't recommend going to treatment here.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went to have a CD assessment in Januaryof 2018, and I showed up after calling to tell them I would be 10 minutes late because the roads were bad from snow, did the… assessment, and was told they'd send results in the mail or call. After not hearing from them, I called and they have NO RECORD of me being there. They claim I was a "no show" and I was violated on probation. And now have to go back to court. I'm absolutely furious with this company for failing to simply do their job, and I get punished for it. I tried calling and giving them the exact date and time i was there, but to no avail. Horrible company.
Horrible place to go to all they are is money hungry and dont tell you your recomendations and send alot of people to extended care apartment that is a dump of a place to live and the learning classes are the same every… day glad i dont go there anymore
I loved this place. It's laid back. The counselors can relate and not stuffy.
