About Cenikor Foundation – Farmington

Cenikor Foundation operates from 1313 Mission Avenue in Farmington. The site sits in San Juan County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Crouch Mesa, Napi Headquarters and Shiprock. New Mexico draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Detox and Rehab Services at Cenikor Foundation

Withdrawal management covers alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Someone starting in detox can move into residential care without changing provider or repeating an intake. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Residential here is short-term, which makes what follows discharge the more important question. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Cenikor Foundation Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 1313 Mission Avenue, Farmington, NM 87401, in San Juan County. The catchment reaches Crouch Mesa, Napi Headquarters and Shiprock. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Just completed the 30 day program, very helpful, great staff, good food, clean facilities, decent amount of basic work out equipment, volley ball court, horse shoe area...... Very helpful medical staff, also a very… smooth approach to detox( I didn't experience it, just what others I talked to said) if you don't want to do in patient, they offer IOP, and after care.

Worst place to go. They didn’t listen to anything in regards to how I felt. I continuously asked to call my job each day I was there and I was denied. The medication I was on did not make me feel any good. The nurses… kept saying go to sleep but I couldn’t because it was so loud during the day. People were smoking cigarettes and being loud out in the halls. And the food tasted awful. I did not enjoy my time there. Do not go here. I was told not to leave and was forced to stay. It costed me my job considering they denied my phone call to my job each day. Do not go there. Find a better place if you need help.

My experience with Cenikor Foundation was heartbreaking and incredibly disappointing. I went into this hoping my boyfriend would receive real help, structure, and support during one of the most vulnerable times in his… life. Instead, we felt completely shut out of the entire process. Communication was extremely limited—we were only allowed one phone call per week. When someone you love is struggling with addiction, that level of isolation doesn’t just affect them, it affects the people who care about them too. My children and I had no way to truly stay connected or be part of his recovery journey. What was even more upsetting was the complete lack of family involvement. As a family we were not included in any classes, counseling, or education about addiction. No one offered guidance on how to support him or what to expect when he came home. Addiction doesn’t just impact the individual—it impacts the whole family—and that was completely ignored. From what I experienced and observed, there seemed to be far too much unstructured free time. Instead of a focused, supportive environment, it felt like there was room for unhealthy dynamics to develop. That’s the opposite of what someone in recovery needs. When he was discharged, it honestly felt like he was just sent back to us with little to no preparation, resources, or aftercare plan. No real support system was put in place to help him succeed outside of the facility, and that was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. This experience didn’t just fail to help—it made an already painful situation even harder. I truly wish we had chosen a different facility. If you’re looking for treatment for someone you love, I strongly encourage you to explore other options that actually involve families, provide structure, and offer real support.

I voluntary went to cenakor September 10 2025 for the 30 day program. I have not relapsed once. I got a good job, my relationships with my girlfriend, family, friends are a 100 times better. My health is better, my mind… is clear, I am learning everyday to love my sober self again thanks to Cenakor! Honestly, I can't really complain. I had 3 meals a day, plus fruits as a snack. Yes, we shared a dorm but I had a good dorm group for the most part. We had a comfortable bed, a small laundry room with 2 wash days, we had easy chores to keep our minds busy that helped with the rehabilitation process. I did dishes the whole time I was there when we weren't attending our classes and AA meetings etc. Which sometimes involved activities throughout the day, we had plenty of free time. We could smoke cigarettes, that was a plus for me. I would play basketball, volleyball, I learned to play spades, and make bracelets. We would also play music on the speaker at night time, we would get chips and salsa for our night meetings, we got popcorn when we watched movies. I know Cenakor isn't a Marriott hotel but for what it's business purpose is, I don't have a single complaint. I am truly grateful for Cenikor and the BHTs I got to know while I was in recovery. Shout out to the staff members Daphne, Michael, and Kayla. They were a big part of my recovery and still are. Also, to the entire medical/nurse staff.

Son wasn’t let get a phone call during the entire process despite checking he was on the list which he was for Thursday. He never got a call, bht’s didn’t seem to care when he asked. While being in treatment he got RSV… which now me and him are dealing with, when he told the nurses he couldn’t breathe and his throat hurts they gave him a mask and a cough drop and one nurse even bragged about having 30 years of nursing experience while understating my son. He’s 18 and also has asthma along with the stuggles of addiction along with RSV now. And as the son I can say every patient was unhappy and felt as if it was a prison, I felt the same. If you want rehab go to the ones in Santa Fe I hear their nice.

Four Winds in Farmington was so helpful in assisting Detainees get a bed for treatment. Called, filled out on line app. Received a call that does nothing to assist a detainee in getting services. That's what happens… when a big corporation takes over and has no intention in helping individuals that need treatment. Thumbs down!

Would not recommend to anyone looking for help. My loved one came here for support and guidance. The employees were rude and condescending making us feel like we were not welcome and less than. I left the facility… extremely upset and in tears after dropping off my family member but still hopeful that they would receive help. My loved one was admitted for a couple hours only to be kicked out because we were not told all of the information beforehand. The facility also lost my loved ones belongings in that short amount of time and they were never found.
