About Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Ctr – Charleston
Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Ctr operates from 2157 Greenbrier Street in Charleston. The site sits in Kanawha County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Coal Fork, Danville and Malden. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Detox and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, an opioid treatment program, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Withdrawal management covers alcohol and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Stepping down into continuing care happens with the same team, so there is no second intake to sit through. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Buprenorphine and methadone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

If I could give zero stars If I could ,my son started here last year and was doing great in the beginning but now he is worse off than when he was actually on fentanyl, they have raised his dose so high he's asleep at… least 21 hours a day ,and now he's back on meth on top of it ,they know but do not care , they don't drug test and hold people accountable, it's all about the money ,and not to mention the drug dealing that goes on in the parking lot
I'm 100% certain if you want sobriety, this WORK'S. I WENT FOR 4 years passed my drug test got oneth take homes. If you want to do it here's a way to. Now if your just trying to get from been sick off dope. It will also… do that. Drugs have a mean detox none them are easy. Start easy bc there's always $ until all ur funds your parents husbands everyones bank account is down. Ppl find themselves on streets. Happens fast takes so long to get back any thing of normal. But its in reach. Good luck
These people saved me! From the doctors, nurses, and counselors. To even the office manager and receptionist. These people really care! They don’t treat you like less of a person because of your “situation” they are… respectful and professional. Honestly, if more treatment centers would follow the lead of this one. I probably would have gotten help 10 years ago. If you are 110 percent serious about getting help. And you choose to go the maintenance route. This is the place! I never would have made it if the staff wasn’t as supportive as they are. So thank you to everyone there! They listened to me when absolutely no body else would! They didn’t judge me when absolutely everyone else did! they were kind to me, when no one else was! And they had faith in me, when even I had no faith in myself! I read through the reviews, and I can assure you. Do not base your opinion of this place by the bad ones. If you are truly ready to make a change in your life. I promise, these folks will help you with being successful!
Its like this you cant expect an oitside force to do what YOU, an inside force is posed to to for yourself, quit blaming the teeatment centers, that is al
I remember that place well, I went for over 10 years. Their main focus is money, and keeping you "sick", while at the same time maintaining the image of "recovery". It's funny how people, well, not so funny, but… interesting how people go there literally for years, decades even, and never get any better. The counselors and nurses would constantly ask if you wanted or needed to go '"up" on your dose, never down. The doctor at that time, Dr. Mark McDaniel, DO, he once asked me if I was happy standing in line with all those "dirty drug addicts", no lie. He knew me, because I knew his family, and was friends with his brothers. Yes, I was there for pain management, not necessarily full-blown addiction, and he knew it. Consequently, both of his brother's died from an overdose, both were addicts, and both were good guys, friends of mine, actually. Nothing against addicts, because addiction can creep up on anyone. I wonder why he never helped them? The treatment center is a cash cow, every Friday great big bags of cash were taken out to a Brinks vehicle under armed guard. I'm sure that hasn't changed, either. Matter of fact, with the addition of the Suboxone clinic, I'm sure those bags of cash just got bigger. My advice, go if you need to, get yourself off whatever it is you're hooked on, then get off what they get you hooked on, or you'll never leave and be forever "sick". Contrary to what you're told, your addiction to the opiate is NOT a disease, and you can change your mindset over the drug, and take control of your life. You can be normal again. The treatment center does help with that in the beginning, but if you're not careful, you'll just trade one addiction for another and become a daily face at the treatment center forever. You have to actually want to be free from addiction to be free from it, not just legally buy an opiate from a cash cow "methadone" clinic. That will do you no good in the long run whatsoever. So I'll reiterate; get off the illegal drugs, get off that needle, get stabilized, ignore the "you have a disease" nonsense, that's the clinic wanting to keep you there indefinitely, because when they see you, they see money. Go to some groups, get a job or if you're disabled get back into a normal daily routine, because normal is what you want to get back to, and going to a methadone or Suboxone clinic for years on end is NOT normal at all. Change your mindset over opiates, and then ween yourself off and don't ever go back, to your old ways or the clinic. It's not easy, but it's what you have to do.
Great place to begin recovery!! Awesome counselors, Great group of people, keep trying don't give up
Took really good care of me ans my husband i feel welcomed here
It's just like any other self development or medical rehabilitation program - a person gets out of it what they invest in themselves. Professional staff members are willing to start working at zero dark thirty to guide… and serve others. An opportunity for a better life for those who are willing.
I'm becoming more and more frustrated with the facility picking on People who take other people to treatment for modivcare. We get harassed and even though we pass every drug screen and jump through more hoops than… required we are made to feel like we are doing something wrong for bringing other people to treatment. They shouldn't hate on those of us who are using this as an income while in college not to mention it helps my recovery journey to be able to help others get back and forth every day. The clinic should not care so much about those of us trying to survive and do this the best way we can and paying it forward. When we started we had no way there every day so when we got blessed by God to have a vehicle we decided to start driving people, but this facility despises people like us. They make it very well know that they do too. We try to jump through their hoops we really are giving it our all but they keep pushing and trying to make it so hard on us to do this. I think they would love to see me and my husband get pushed back into using drugs again. I truly feel attacked when I have to go see my counselor. They gave me a supervisor now and I'm her ONLY patient. Talk about being made to feel like I'm singled out. If we even try to speak up when seeing someone being wronged they put us on contract. It's getting unbearable. We are now having to seek legal counsel to ensure we don't lose our treatment because they dangle our methadone in front of us like a carrot on a stick and string. I do truly pray they will start only caring about our treatment instead of pushing us into getting kicked out for trying to help others. It's so sad that they think they can dangle our treatment over our heads. I'm literally scared to death every time I go to see my counselor. It's something wrong everytime I go plus they try to pin me and my husband against one another each time. Marriage is a blessing. But they don't seem to like married couples. At all. Nor do they value the God fearing type of folks either. We are Christians and truly feel the hate for us each day we go there. But we will keep going because we are going to start a sober living/transition home and wanted to bring our clients here when we do get it up and going so we will push forward to help others not to be made to feel this way. We can't even have a conversation with the director or staff without them acting like we are attacking them. They are so scared of us "addicts" which is so sad. Just because someone is trying to explain themselves to someone and they don't like what is being said doesn't mean it's an attack. Sometimes the patient is right and the staff is wrong. I think the woman running this facility and the williamson facility need replaced. We need more addict centered people who actually understand us in charge not people who despise addicts. We need more compassionate people who really care for our well being not people who are double charging insurance and then charging for when ppl aren't even there to dose!! That's outrageous. There's so much wrong with the way things are being handled. We are not gonna give up though. People need to feel safe when going to treatment, not worried to death about getting in trouble every day and losing their recovery.
They do not care about their patients here. The ones that pass all of their drug tests get mistreated and they don't want to help anyone. In fact they harass you and try to cause you problems. They deliberately try to… stress you out to make you use if you are clean. They charge people's insurance and make them pay for days they were not there. How are they charging people for treatment that they are not getting. They are frauds and I am mainly talking about the clinic director. She is on a power trip and will dangle your medicine over your head and I am scared that they will take my medication away from me. I am a good Christian man that got my life back on track because of God first and this medication. I am a straight A college student that has passed every drug test for over 3 years. I have anxiety now and am scared to death they will try to sabotage my treatment. I have more stress from going to this facility than when I was on drugs. I don't want to go back to my old life but their director is pushing me to it. I am going to need therapy now from the way they have mistreated me. If there are others being mistreated please reach out so we can take proper legal action against the discrimination being displayed against us.
The counselors are very professional but Dr. Lynch is very unprofessional and has a very bad attitude and does not seem to give a rats about you or the company he works for other than that everybody else that works… there is very nice and friendly and professional.
I've been going here for about a week now and have almost seen every employee that works here. Everyone has been very helpful, professional and friendly! I would recommend if your truly interested in overcoming… addiction to give Charleston comprehensive treatment center a try! If you don't have any support system everyone here has been cheering me on I appreciate each and every one at the clinic for being the best at what they do thanks!
If you’re really ready to quit and improve your life, but you just can’t fathom the idea of the realities of withdrawal, this place is a great option. If you’re really ready, they’re there for you and speeding from… personal experience, this medication assisted treatment program does work! But just make sure.. you are 100% ready to quit.
This place saved my life & the staff is AMAZING I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for them & this place !
Had no problems at all guest dosing here while on a trip from California. Thumbs up for me! 👍
This place ONLY cares about MAKING THAT ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!!!!
This place does not care about their patients, all they're out to do is double charge your insurance. They did my friend dirty and charged her for a day/dose she wasn't even there and hadn't even been there for 2 weeks.… Pathetic thieves!
Very good place it's all love 💯💯
Great place
I've been a patient two different times starting in 2010. At several points in time, the clinic did have some minor issues, but they have all been addressed. They have recently streamlined the process and long lines are… a thing of the past. The staff is professional, helpful and pleasant, and if you follow the rules they will do whatever they can to help you. I've read every single review here, and the people leaving bad reviews sound like people with an ax to grind - probably people who weren't following the rules and were removed for their own safety. Many of the statements in the bad reviews are exaggerations or outright lies. As you continue to have clean screens and comply with treatment requirements, those requirements are gradually reduced and you earn take-home doses so you don't have to keep returning every day. I tried 12-Step programs for 13 years and couldn't stay clean for more than a few months at a time. But once I started MMT at this clinic, I never had another relapse. That was a decade ago! 12-Step programs aren't evidence-based or science-based treatment. Its basically watered down religion. I wish I had skipped 12-Step recovery and done MMT from day 1. The clinic offers several types of treatment including buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) or methadone. What works for one person may not be the best choice for someone else, so having these options is important. Again, I suggest ignoring the 1 and 2 star reviews. My guess is that none of those reviews came from sober people.
Im proud to say I’ve been a nurse practitioner at this facility for about 3 years and truly believe we have the best program WV has to offer! It’s so rewarding to help others meet their full potential. I feel honored to… serve our clients during the most difficult times of their lives. If you or a loved one is suffering with addiction I highly recommend Charleston CTC. Our dedicated team of counselors, Peer Support Specialists, and providers are here to help you get on with your life!

I think 🤔 they do A Good job I been clean besides a few slips around six years why do you come here and ✍️ bad reviews go somewhere else
It's great I actually have a normal night's rest finally since I started coming here and within being a patient only a little over a month I've already gotten a job and other things I needed to do for my self and moving… towards more goals I've wanted to do in just the little bit of time already ITS GREAT❤️💯💪🤗😉
Whatever you decide. Stay away from METHADONE! If you decide to go with METHADONE. It will be extremely difficult coming off of. That's why there's lifer patients. Be in treatment for the rest of your lives. They have… patients who've been there since the door opened. Just over 20 years ago.
