About MidState Health Center – Bristol

MidState Health Center operates from 100 Robie Road in Bristol. The site sits in Grafton County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Franklin and Newport. New Hampshire draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment and telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

I have called multiple times throughout the year to see if the Bristol dentistry office is accepting new patients. Especially after seeing on their website that they are accepting new patients. Prior to most recent… call, the receptionist had said it was not accurate on the website and to call back in July for updated availability. That was back in May. I have attached what is on the website currently. I called again, now being July, and her response was that because they are a federally funded business, they need to have that they are accepting new patients. Yet, why does Littleton have "not accepting new patients" and a blurb about being short staffed and limited services? And Bristol has accepting new patients? I feel this is a misrepresentation of what is available for services. She proceeded to tell me to call again next month. Is there not a waitlist? I am bewildered by the overall interaction with this dentistry.

I've been going to Mid-Sate Dental for 6 years and they were good in the beginning, but over the past few years the service has gone down hill. If you call, you're placed on hold for five plus minutes, only to be… transferred to voicemail in the end. They are understaffed, and yet they keep taking on new patients. They tell me I'm supposed to go for four visits per year, but they are so booked that I can't get in, and if I do get in, there's a strong chance they will cancel. Today was my breaking point. I'm going to find someone else.

Been going for years and have had very mixed results with the many different hygienists I’ve had. Some have been great, others less so, but I unfortunately never could seem to get the same person for more than a year or… so, and often times I had to wait 8-9 months for my next apt when I really need six month cleanings (with the dentist even saying the same thing during the apt. Itself). Today was the final straw though. Initially my apt. (that I’ve waited six months for) needed to be changed due to my hygienist leaving (again, but fair enough I guess). Then the day of, about an hour and a half before my apt is scheduled, I get a text that my apt has been canceled and I need to reschedule. This was an apt I had been waiting six months for, and had to take the day off of work to attend and it was cancelled with almost 0 notice. The next available reschedule options weren’t for two months out, when again this was their mess up/ them canceling. So I need to wait ANOTHER two months because you guys messed up after it’s already been six months? That’s not acceptable when it comes to my health. I was able to call Tilton Family Dental, and got in the SAME DAY as a new patient, with the receptionist being willing to work with me to make that happen, which is the opposite of my experience with mid-state, where usually the reception was very unfriendly. The cherry on top though, is that somehow mid-state still doesn’t have any kind of forms on demand or Docusign, so I would need to drive all the way to the office just to fill out the form to have my records sent over. It’s 2026, setup an online option, it’s incredibly easy to do and would be incredibly helpful for your patients when your business is setup in rural New Hampshire. Unfortunately just not a practice that seems to care about their patients, their health, or consistency, with the same copy/paste response to the negative reviews on here (that I’m sure I’ll get too) just really sending that message home. Would recommend pretty much any of the other dentists in the area, many of which can seemingly get you in within a week instead of months.

once again, I called two days in a row multiple times in those two days and nobody’s have answered that Dentist phone on the Dentist side. I gave her review 10 months ago something like that and then they responded at… the bottom that they would like me to share more details and that they’re understaffed well when you call two days in a row and nobody answers the phone, not even once that’s a problem that’s an issue me sharing more details. Ain’t gonna solve your problem. That’s up to you to figure out for your people, your patience to get a hold of somebody now I have to drive there again to make the appointment. Is this problem ever gonna b Solved or are you just gonna keep asking for more details because you’re not solving the issue this happened before it happened now and it’s gonna happen again nobody should have to drive out to your facility to make an appointment

Had to schedule a month out for two broken teeth, get called 5 mins before appointment in their lot after wasting my only $20 for gas to be told the doctor didn't bother showing up and couldn't do anything. Their good… dentist leaves in June. Don't waste your time, they'll just put you through more pain.

I have been with Mid State for nearly 10 years now. There have been ups and downs but I have always found the staff helpful. I can be a tough patient for many reasons. Any time I had an issue or felt like I wasn't a… great match with my provider there was never any problem. Fast forward to them setting me up with Katie Gagan when she first started (a few years ago now) she has been wonderful. She is compassionate and caring. I would highly recommend to anyone new to the area. Sometimes the first provider is not a fit, but that's ok we're all different with different needs. Midstate will work with you.

A HUGE thank you to the Mid State Behavioral Health Team… I needed to reschedule an in-person appointment, and Alyssa (sorry if this is spelled incorrectly) went above and beyond to find an appointment time that would… work for me. She did this pro-actively, offering me a time bed I even had to ask… and have I mentioned that she did this on a Sunday??? I have had such excellent treatment from everyone on the team, from my therapist to the staff who support her. I’m incredibly grateful to all of you!!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Mid-State dental in Bristol. From the receptionist, Michele to the assistant and the doctor, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. They made a nervous situation… like getting my tooth extracted a little more positive and calming just by being so kind. They were also very informative throughout the whole process. Thank you!

I had to have an emergency extraction done and was very nervous!!! Sunny and her assistant were amazing. I have severe dental anxiety but they were so welcoming, efficient and caring. It was the best experience I’ve had… at a dentist. My extraction was totally pain free and still is 24 hours later. I highly recommend them!

I would like to commended Tina winters yesterday she spent over an hour with me providing me options and sultions to my health care .She listened, processed , and cared for my physical and mental health . Her team was… respectful and pleasant. Update : I would like to update this review and notify that I have been having on going issues with spinal stenosis this was know by my PCP . With this being said the visit that was spoken about above should have been transacted against a workmans comp . Case however after I paid out of pocket for this visit thinking it will be reinveresed . The amount was not a huge amount and the receptionist assured me it would be corrected if needed in a reasonable time . After working for 22 months with RN ,receptionist, billing dept. Employees, specialist and social workers . I received only a partial payment of reneversment. After researching I believe cases such as this happen in the medical field . With this being said I recently had a issues with my spine and contacted mid state for treatment. The nurse on the phone got into a verbal argument with me asking for more patient visits and her and a debated about why I should continue to pay mide state while I was still owed reneversment for close to 2 years . The next weekend I received a letter in the mail that I was being dropped from mid state for non compliance and inappropriate behavior. Simply for advocating for my health . No one from mid state contacted me to try and reconcile or get my side of things at the same time this spiked my depression. Anyone reading this please be aware this does happen in the medical feild even if their are honorable and good health care workers . Updated again: 8/11/25 I received a text from mid state about an upcoming tooth cleaning. I called mid state (about an 1hr on hold and they stated I have been removed from all parts of the facility. I reported to the labor board labor board sent no explanation only law rules. Mid state till this day still owe reneversment of out of pocket payment .This facility turned a blind eye . Rather then doing what is ethically and morality correct .

I truly commend how far this practice has came with its staffing and providers, they have made a huge improvement in not only management but staff, assistants as well as all providers, i’d like to give a good word to… Dr. Gagan, i do not see her personally but someone in my family does and from what i have heard she is the most kind, compassionate and caring doctor there, her nurse has treated my family amazing as well. Midstate has made the best improvements over the years.

This one star is in regards to the receptionist at the dentist section even though I think the staff as far as the dentist and the dentist assistance, I think they’re really nice people. However, the receptionist is… another story. I can’t tell you how many times on many occasions, I’ve called and got no answer many times. I also can’t tell you how many times I’ve actually had to drive. to this office to make my appointment because nobody knows how to answer the phone I get there today, which is July 1, and I stood there at that desk for 15 minutes and not one person came at all so that I can make my appointment I left I was all set. I’m good so what am I supposed to do now drive for another half hour tomorrow for summer to not be there again I’m completely disgusted if you don’t wanna do your job correctly then why are you working There

I tried calling to make several appointments from 3pm to 4:30pm. I was on hold for 10 minutes then hung up. NO ONE Answered the phone…Poor I had to go through the Plymouth office to make my appointments. Hello. Today I… had issues trying to refill a prescription that was called in to Bristol Rite Aid on Monday. I’m finding it makes me feel like no one is doing their job and for some time I feel as if my current PCP isn’t taking care of me.

Staff is very kind however as others have said the call wait times are ridiculous.....waited 15 minutes trying to make an appointment and eventually gave up also no answer........ currently I've been waiting for 15… minutes for medicals questions and I got an answering machine......still no answer.........people need to be able to contact their provider in a timely manner. Do better midstate this is asinine.

Literally so annoying. Don’t tell me to schedule a follow up and then act like I’m the burden for doing so. Also, saying “If you are in pain… give us a call or text and we can get you in.” after I had just said I was… still in pain and am ACTIVELY texting you to schedule an appointment??!?!? Like what?? This on top of that time the assistant who was clearly high sprayed cold water into my ears. The only reason I put up with this place is because New Hampshire has like 5 doctors and wait times to get a new pcp anywhere are like 12 years.

You'd be better off bleeding out in the parking lot than speaking to a "doctor" here. Quotations because education can't replace compassion or the desire to help other people at your core. Will be going elsewhere after… over a decade. There are good people working here but not enough to out weigh the damage done.

I have been a patient for about 9 years there and I just get used to primary care doctor and they leave and I get another one. I have had 4 doctors it's frustrating. The hold times for a call is crazy. Referrals or any… paperwork that needs to be sent takes forever and recently I wanted a flu and COVID shot and was told they don't do them. What your my doctor's office with a lab in it. I had to make an appointment at a pharmacy. Not happy at all with them

This dentist office is absolutely amazing. I went in for an emergency evaluation not expecting to be able to have my extraction done the same day however it was. Sunny along with her assistant listened to me advocate… for myself as to how I use my coping skills asking them to please not tell me anything about the Novocain being administered but instead allow me to find my focus point in my mindset with my eyes closed and tell me to turn whichever way you need me to but also understand that I am hearing impaired in both ears an I might not hear them immediately which could make it so I ask them to repeat please. It went so smoothly that I was holding the assistant hand extremely loose whereas I would’ve normally gripped tight before anywhere else. I truly had the best experience I have ever had in a dental setting an I can never thank you enough Sunny and your assistant. I highly recommend them.
