When reading, give most weight to concrete detail, such as how quickly an appointment was offered or how family members were kept informed.
They are always understaffed! The counselors and everyone else are quitting left to right. You would think with such high turnover they would treat their employees better. The staff that they do have are extremely nice… and helpful but aren't able to do their proper jobs considering how low staffing is, which is affecting the level of care patients are receiving. I hope some positive changes are coming soon because it's been horrible for both the patients and the workers.
We need a clinic in Oroville!!
Helpful employees and they only want the best for everyone who goes here.
Today I went with my boyfriend to ages we called ahead to see if he could do a walk-in and when we arrived the lady that was working the desk was very rude to him and turned him away because we were late last week and… had to reschedule. This is the kind of service at places like this that send people back out to use and people like her should not work here.
Significant improvements have been made to the facility, including updates to the mission statement, management, aesthetics, and especially the counselors who seem far more qualified. However, a non-trivial amount of… miscommunication is impacting their clients more than they may realize. That said, it’s important to note that they are still in a transition period, which should also be taken into account.
I was on 160 mgs daily for 3 years and when I moved to this clinic to get my take homes and doses they out right refused my dose even though the Humboldt clinic had already filed all my paperwork to them it was also a… aegis in Humboldt so I do not understand why they would cut me off such a life saving medicine. When I got upset with being refused my dose they promptly told me not to come back. Therefore I had to go cold turkey off 160 mgs with no help. It could have killed me. These people are NOT professionals. 0/10
Awful service the people who work here hate their lives so they put the negative energy on to you. They treat the addicts terrible highly recommend finding another clinic.
This place literally gets worse by the day. They violate HIPPA laws, but then complain to you about every little thing. I could write a novel, but one for instance. If you're late for counseling or miss it because God… forbid you have a life with children or work or getting sick then they punish you by putting you on a hold everyday until a counselor is available. But your counselor can miss and or be late numerous times without any warning. I've sat and waited over 20 minutes more times than I can count and when I finally go ask what's going on? "Oh yeah your counselor called out hours ago" 🙄 well thanks for telling me when I checked in. There are no chairs or benches outside even tho the line wraps around outside constantly. I know that some of the people (not workers) can sometimes be rude which is actually understandable considering how this place is ran but some of the staff is in such a bitter horrible mood to people just walking in, if you can't handle it maybe find a different job? There have been sooo many formal complaints about certain employees yet absolutely nothing is done about it. It's gotten to the point where I've been calling rehabs just so I don't have to go here. If I could change just one thing out of the dozens of things that need to be changed is that this place shouldn't be treated like a money making business (which the workers freely admit constantly that it's all about pleasing corporate) it should be treated like a place to help people. And to help people you can't treat them all the same. Like a bunch of junkies and or criminals. I've never been arrested, I've never OD'd never bought street drugs etc. You can actually test positive for crystal meth on a UA test and keep your take homes need I say more...
This is actually the best Clinic I've ever been to Thomas has been the best counselor I've had I was at ages before as well but due to getting ran over by a car I was put back on opiate medications and well any addict… knows what happens after that when I returned to ages I went through a plethora of counselors but Thomas was solid and stuck around when I came to him I had 14 take homes and lost them because I fell off. Thank God I had Thomas as a counselor he held me accountable for my actions was patient and gentle and see me through my relapse now I have six take homes and I'm doing way better I really believe that if Thomas wasn't my counselor during my relapse I wouldn't be clean right now because of the way he handled the situation allow me to trust him take his advice and now I've been clean for almost 4 months now thank you Thomas and thank you Aegis for employing Thomas.
I'm thankful for this place. I truly am . Even more for the employees that take there job seriouse enough to get there EARLY, to make sure everything is up and running. There is no place for us to sit and stay dry in… cold wet whether. Not even our cars because someone will just steal your place in line. Even though you get there 1hr early so u could make it to work. Its under new management, and the care for us patients is ignored.
I have been in and out of recovery pretty much my whole life since I was a teenager. I had heard repeatedly that there's no "magic pill" to help with your addiction problems. Well, I must say that methadone sure worked… "magic" for me. It brought my cravings down to nothing, might I add, I was always on the lookout for something. Methadone gave me the feeling of what I would best describe as "content." Aegis gave me the added help I needed to then focus on myself and my well-being. I have since been able to find and maintain staple employment and let me focus on what my family and I needed instead of just what my brain wanted. So thank you to Aegis of Chico, I hate to even imagine what my life would look like had I never found them.
Wonderful staff. They are professional but also kind and caring.
Appreciation for help & care here 🫶 🙏🙂. Special thanks for Nurse Layla, Thomas, Vita, Kayla receptionist and Kayla counselor, Rachel, Martha, Dr. Beth & Dr. Don ! As well and all the kind caring employees currently… working at this location. I appreciate yall very much. Thanks for the care 🙂 P.s. I recommend this place to people still using/addicted...it's much healthier, and better than contaminated street drugs these days !
They’re going not interested to n the money you as a patient ent bring them, they refuse to help patients with anything not to mention they try to exert their limited power over those who don’t know what they’re allowed… to do they refuse to give patients medical records they have rights to see and then lie when corporate makes them hand them over, I can remember one time corporate was at the chico location and when asked if patients have their the right to see their own personal health record the admission started to squirm that ma
They have a very good program. They are a unique group of people who are quite good at the business of turning lives around.
Best treatment center anywhere. The team there never give up. You are treated like family. They give you back control of your life, which is nice to have.
Nice friendly staff that make you feel welcome and who care about your recovery
Very helpful, nice employees, very efficient and professional. They try to help everyone that walks threw their door.
I just want too give thanks for the help 💗... Major Huge compliment s and praise too nurse Layla, and my awesome counselor Thomas 🙂🎉💯..you two make things so much nicer and pleasant! So kind and compassionate! It makes… a huge difference when ur used too be treated with stigma & judgment Don you are awesome also !! Thank you guys 😊 All 3 of above super good job big time!
I love this center. They saved my life. I graduated in 2015, and still I thank my Higher Power for taking me there. I hope the staff know they make a difference in people’s life.
This place saved my life they gave me the tools but i do the work
Staff only cares about getting you hooked and keeping you hooked. And money. Will boot you out instantly if don't pay with barely a detox. Michelle the manager made me feel very unwanted, uncomfortable and just… horrible. I hate it there so much I drive 100 miles a day instead of going there. Counselors are between 22-25 with NO LIFE EXPERIENCE. Only relates by what memorized in text books. NOT GOOD FOR ANYONE REALLY WANTING RECOVERY OR ANY KIND OF HELP. Go to ATS in Marysville!
Worst "Treatment" center ever. This place doesn't care about their "Patients" or their time and well being. Its just a cash grab that exploits the community of Chico because its the only option for drug addiction… treatment.
I was 6 yrs old when I had my first morphine experience at the dentist office, and it took away all the crunchiness i was feeling in my alcoholic home life. From that point on I sought out to kill all of my emotional… pain with any kind of substances that were mind and mood altering.I was quite successful at finding pills in the cabinets of unsuspecting adults as I come from an era when addiction wasn't a house hold word especially from an elementary school kid. By age 11 i was drinking to get drunk smoking cigarettes, huffing gasoline daily. I was an adrenaline junkie as well lying cheating and burglaries were a wonderful cheap way of filling that bill. oh yes I was given positive strokes for beating up kids in our neighborhood that my dad didnt like. Children of alcoholics usually arent just given acceptence based on the fact that they are human. No, we have to do tricks like a dog to get approval from our parents. love isnt just a given. Having to make your own bottles when you are just 2 yrs. old does irreputable damage to a person. Opiates filled a void in me that otherwise felt raw like a wound that wont heal. By the time I found Aegis in Chico I was42. Nine other treatment centers, countless detox stays AA meetings by the hundreds and a gunshot wound to the head by a serial killer who had killed 17 other people. Nothing else has given me what Methadose Maintenance coupled with an individualized TX plan and exceptional staff members who are highly skilled people who are dedicated to the cause of helping sick hurting addicts become whole human being and sussessful members of society. thank you Aegis for the happyiest 10yrs of my 53 yr life. yes Aegis get 5 stars from me .
This place has changed my life for the better I'm so glad I found this treatment center!
