As a lifelong resident of Malibu I have seen many treatment centers come and go, many are fly by night operations with little professional efficacy. I have also know many people personally who have struggled with… addiction for a long time and seen them come and go through multiple rehab centers without lasting results only to relapse again and again. The people I know who have ended up at Carrara were by far the best treated and most effectively treated for their addiction and reported it as a very positive experience. I spent twenty-two years as a firefighter and never thought I would end up in a treatment center. A back injury needing spinal fusion from the job led to pain medication that started as medical necessity and soon became… something I could not control. Carrara and staff saved my life. My only issue is, I did not want to leave. The ocean, dolphins, and star gazing are incredible. I plan on revisiting each year for a tune up and reality check. The location,… accommodations, immediate access to nurses, physicians, chefs, physical trainer, are nothing less than 5 star concierge. Let’s not forget about why I was here. I suffered from deep emotional trauma, and am forever grateful for the therapists. They truly shared various tools, and allowed me to transform my thinking toward a more joyful, kind and loving place. For this I am forever grateful. My 45 days at Carrara Treatment Wellness & Spa was truly special. From the moment you arrive, you feel the care and intention behind everything they do. The food is incredible—Chef Ross creates meals that are both… beautiful and genuinely nourishing. I also loved Jordana’s mindfulness classes and Nicky’s breathwork sessions; both were grounding and gave me tools I still use. The medical team is attentive and highly supportive, with consistent check-ins throughout the day to monitor vitals and overall well-being—you truly feel held and cared for. They also guided me through safely stepping away from long-term reliance on sleep medication during my stay, and I’m incredibly grateful for how thoughtfully that process was handled. The predatory practices of Nicole need to be illuminated. She is a body broker a head hunter. They could care less about the well being of those seeking treatment. She poached my son during his detox mid detox . Only to… convince him to get treatment here. After a call letting her know about the abuse he’s endured by his ex significant other. She booked 2 flights for him and his abuser. Should’ve known after she asked me her name and to spell it out. My son boarded a flight seated next to his abuser. Sitting side by side. After telling his family that she would never let it happen. It’s a money grab. Don’t send your kids here. Nichole made money preying on desperate and vulnerable families.
