Desert Willow Wellness Review My experience at Desert Willow Wellness was truly unique. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was in a place that was designed not just for recovery, but for healing, growth, and… rebuilding. The beautiful grounds, comfortable casitas, and peaceful setting created an environment that felt welcoming and restorative rather than clinical. What stood out most was the people. The staff are exceptional—knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in each client’s journey. The small staff-to-client ratio allows for a level of personal attention and connection that is rare in recovery programs. I never felt like just another person in a program; I felt seen, supported, and understood. The holistic approach at Desert Willow Wellness goes far beyond traditional recovery. The combination of expert guidance, thoughtful programming, outside speakers, and opportunities for personal reflection created an experience that challenged me intellectually, emotionally, and personally. The ability to participate in off-site activities like hikes, meetings, gym visits, and local dining also helped bring a sense of normalcy and connection to the recovery process. The leadership team and entire staff have built something special—a recovery environment that is warm, engaging, and deeply committed to helping people change their lives. Desert Willow Wellness provided me with not only tools for recovery, but also a renewed sense of possibility and confidence for the future. I’m grateful for the experience, the people I met, and the care I received. Desert Willow is truly a special place.

Just to let you know Kim is back on track and with Barnlife in Costa mesa! She could have gone back to Anchor tides but she would have started where she left off so she opted to start over with Barnlife, great decision… I think! She has a great group of friends she has made and is still seeing in her sobriety! She just loved you so I wanted you to know you are a real part of her recovery!

Desert Willow Wellness is a breath of fresh desert air in an industry dominated by profitability and having "easy" clients. This was not my first rehab. I believe it is the last. Very 1 on 1. Tons of therapy. Groups are great. Wellness as well (EOS gym). Pool at the center. Beautiful 1 bedroom casitas with a full kitchen. Living room. Tv. I… felt at home. Everything is brand new. Clean. Staff was amazing.

When I decided to seek treatment for my alcoholism, I searched for hours online to find a place. I discovered Desert Willow Wellness and agreed that it could be a good fit. Well, it was more than that. I was initially… committed for detox only, yet I felt so comfortable that I decided to stay for treatment. The facility is very peaceful and relaxed. The privacy- to be able to have your own casita is such a bonus when you need to have some solitude or time to unwind or meditate. The therapy, group sessions and varied treatment tools are amazing. Although it is a lot of work (mentally and emotionally) to attend these treatment sessions, I always looked forward to participating. The staff is beyond amazing. The founder, Kurtis Girard, is the real deal. He is gifted, respected, and has a way to make people feel comfortable. He has also done an awesome job at hiring such a diverse group of employees; each with their own incredible knowledge, experience, gifts, and personalities. I am forever grateful that I chose to give myself the gift of sobriety and I am forever grateful that Desert Willow Wellness was and is a part of my journey.

Nobody ever wishes to end up in jail or dead, no one really wants to be alone, and nobody actually thinks that the decisions we make in life will cost us dearly.
