This place did not help my son! Never gave meds he needed, He was hallucinating then discharged him with no paperwork at 5:00am and mind you he lives over an hour away! Thank god for the lady at the Marriott for letting… him use the phone and stay in lobby while he waited for me to pick him up I called cause I had concerns and the lady I spoke to Hung up on me!! 😡
Kratom addicts are going to need muscle relaxers and gabapentin to be comfortable through withdrawal. The muscle spasms and insomnia get extremely bad. They made me take a cab 2 hours away because theyre the “ only ones… who treat Kratom”. All they give you is Ativan. Literally my hospital 10 mins away has Ativan.stressful waste of time.
I love the program and how safe they made me feel during my treatment. Especially Isma and the director Chris
Absolutely wonderful place. I was at MCCA for detox and in service treatment at McDonough house. The counselors there are fantastic. They fully understand addiction and are there to help at any time of day. Emily and… her team went above and beyond for me when I needed help the most and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you to Chris for not giving up on me and being the best counselor I could ask for also April,Tony and Michelle for never judging me and always having the best smile. I can’t say enough about MCCA but I would not have been able to stay sober without their help.
This place was amazing and helpful and I would recommend it to anyone the staff is very helpful and friendly it truly saved my life and gave me a future
Great experience very positive and great encouraging staff
Very helpful staff and service. +3 meals a day and cooperative accommodations
Jane Sadowski was disappointing, tried sharing about recent rape and kept interrupting my rape trauma at the VA psych ward to ask me repeatedly if I want meds. Need someone interested in therapy, not sales
By far, it was an exceptional experience.. Love Love 💕 is what I felt and they made you most comfortable when needed . Michelle you are the best... thank you so much for your love and your support and you just being… here and being you. Alex I like your charisma, it was nice meeting you as well. Blossom thank you for your petals of patience your beauty shines within.
Does not offer help for the biggest issue in our community today 7-oh and is about 50 times stronger than morphine. Sent me home to use tonight and wouldn't accept me into their detox. Hopefully I live tonight
My experience was awesome here I recommend this place to anyone, the staff is so professional and friendly anything you need they will make sure you get. Especially Michelle, and if it wasn't for Emily I wouldn't even… have been here they are the best. I want to thank each of them for everything they've done for me I know I'm skipping a lot of names that I can't remember of the top of my head. But I swear if you need a place to go that safe and willing to help no matter what please come here thank you
I am only sharing my experience at mcca detox, I did not go to the McDonough house. I completed the 5 days of detox. Whole time being there I was treated like a prisoner. They treat you like you’re there for punishment… when really you’re there on your own free will trying to get better. I was never assigned a counselor. Granted I talked to a couple of them but you don’t get assigned your own. There are no group meetings or anything helpful like that. Mikey windows is awesome but that was the only time I felt like I was in a group setting. They let everyone sleep all day. Nobody comes out of their rooms. They feed you fried food, chips, and Italian ice. Supposed to get 6 fresh air breaks a day; only got 2 fresh air breaks the whole 5 days I was there. Mcca detox is a depression pit. They don’t even let you take your own meds so don’t bother brining them unless they’re vital. I was cornered by staff. They have 20 beds, 8 were full at the time and they were out of towels so staff went barging into everyone’s room getting towels. That’s sad; had there been 20 patients there wouldn’t even be enough towels to bathe with? There is no smoking allowed although their daily breakdown says smoke breaks. Staff members talk about patients very loudly so everyone can hear. Staff members leave paperwork with other patients info just laid around for other people to see. Two very serious hippa violations. It’s 12 midnight and staff is having what sounds like a party right outside my room to the point where I had to get up and ask them to quiet down. Pretty pathetic. I asked for an extra blanket since it’s so cold in that unit and it was as if I asked for a pot of gold. Staff is lazy, rude, and disrespectful. I would like to thank Patty, Sam, Dawn, Greg & Jess. They are the people who gave me the strength to stay in what I would consider a toxic environment while trying to stay sober. My advice, pick somewhere else.
MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and… worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.
They are by far one of the best places and the staff is very kind and helpful. I personally have to thank them for all for my husbands well being Till this day I thank you all. Great job, and the patience you all have… and understanding is amazing.
We’ve called 1 million places in Connecticut Not one place had a bed. Not one place could get her in I wouldn’t give one stars if I had to
Just want to say that I'm extremely grateful for mcca and all the ways that the staff members helped me out. So grateful to have my life back, free from the bondage of alcohol, and drugs. But a special shout out to… Heather she is the best counselor I could have even imagined, Heather has such a special place in my heart and has motivated me in not just my recovery but also In my life. she is viciously determined to get her clients on the right path and all the people she comes into contact with. I have never seen a one woman army untill I met Heather. She truly is a leader. With great social skills .Heather will sit down in the middle of any day at any time no matter how busy she is ,and make you feel like your the only person in the world. I owe my recovery every ounce of effort due to the love this woman has poured into me and my life. Tomorrow I will wake up , and be two months clean!!! In a new town ,with two jobs, my rent paid up ,and Love In my heart again not just for myself but also for other because of Heather alone.heather is definitely #1 in my book.
Perfect balance. That's what my thoughts are about Mcdonough. Between classes and down time. The staff all had something unique to offer. Also, they will not let you leave without a plan and/or a safe place to go.… Whether it's sober housing or another program. They truly care about the clients recovery.
My experience at McDonough House was the best experience I've ever had as far as intense inpatient. The counselors where God sent. Nicole, Heather, Wayne, Dawn, and Mike challenge you daily to help you identify the core… problem that lies inside they help also with helping you identify the symptoms that occur weeks before you relapse physically. They were very loving and treat each client with love and kindness as if you were a family member... I love them all dearly Gina has done a amazing job in directing the program she has not only played a part in getting me there when death was knocking on my door, she set up a criteria that is amazingly effective. The Techs Kendra, was like the mother of all Techs she will call you on your nonsense when needed while still attending to all your needs. Candra,Tammy, Nicole, and Doug was very kind and put the needs of the clients first. I love everyone there and truly believe that with what I learned and experienced there with hard work , I will have a long life of sobriety. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!
MCCA, McDonough House and detox saved my life. The nurses and Techs in detox are very helpful and would go to any extreme to make you feel comfortable. Coming from detox at MCCA to McDonough was a wonderful and easy… move. All the counselors and techs are very welcoming and helpful in any way possible. I felt like I could go up to any of them and they would help me solve a problem if I had an issue. I did not have any issues but I can tell you that they wood try to make you feel right at home, because they know that you are away from home. All the counselors are available throughout the day and you can at least speak to one if your assigned counselor is not available at that moment. They can help you with how you are feeling, going to groups ,and if you need medical or dental attention. They speak to you on a regular basis and will help you plan for aftercare. They are very knowledgeable about what is going on in and out of the community. They can help you get started in something as simple as meetings. You can ask for schedules for meeting and things like setting up IOP, food stamps, any other play or things that can help you get back on your feet. I owe a great deal of gratitude towards my counselors and everybody who help me be the strong clean and sober person I am today. I just wanted to say thank you for all that you have done and I hope to keep in contact with you all. Thank you all!!! Love, Laura E ....... June 8th 2020 Aug 19th 2020
Great program- at one point of my 28 day stay- I thought of leaving a bad/ mediocre review. Based on ONE experience with ONE tech- I'm glad I didn't. I think McDonough house gets a bad rep in general- from vindictive… clients. Counselors and staff actually CARE here- that is a rare thing- from personal experience. If only everyone left a review - who had a GOOD experience there! What a different # THAT would produce.
I had a great experience at MCCA McDonough House. The counselors and the techs were all very helpful and the groups were very informative. I liked that it was only 20 patients, so we all got to know each other and help… each other during our stay there.
The staff at Mcca was amazing! This program has changed my life! I would highly recommend the Detox and the 28 day program!
Good to helping i like
