OCD Anxiety Centers – South Jordan Reviews and Ratings
Reviews of OCD Anxiety Centers in South Jordan from patients, loved ones and referring professionals are collected in this section, together with reviews gathered from around the web.
The OCD Anxiety Centers did help me but overall if you factor in the cost and time spent on the program, I would say that it isn't worth it. Let me start with the good things first: - All of the staff are very nice and… helpful. - My therapist Jo was awesome and the best therapist that I have ever had. - Exposure therapy sucks but it does work. • Now for the negative: - The treatment is so expensive and their attendance policy is incredibly strict. If you miss a single day you have to pay about $330. - You only see your therapist once a week for 30 minutes to an 1 hour. I'd want to see my therapist at least 3 days a week for the amount that I'm paying. - Time is wasted. Most days you do at least 2 exposures (face your fears in a controlled way) and its an hour per exposure. Some exposures don't need a full hour in my opinion. And I feel like the 3rd hour isn't needed. Also a lot of time is spent helping your peers and I just wanted to focus on my own mental health. (That may make me sound so mean but I really just didn't want to have other people to worry about. I'm naturally very empathic and it's incredibly exhausting and painful for me to hear about other people's problems). 3 hours a day for outpatient therapy is a lot of time and its not utilized well. - The entire thing is group therapy. Group therapy can be great but there isn't an option to not do group therapy. Group therapy is beneficial if you have social anxiety but not beneficial for people like me. (My OCD goes away in social settings most of the time). - Overall I reccomend trying exposure therapy because it works well but you can do exposure therapy at a lot of different places. I do really appreciate all of the staff at The OCD Anxiety Center because they were all so great.
My son's weekly regular therapist recommended the clinic. He gave me the number and when I called I spoke to Conner. Conner was lovely and helpful. He set up a virtual video interview, of sorts, with Ash to make sure… the program would be a good fit for my son. My son is an adult with Autism. Ash and Conner were both on the virtual call. Ash spoke to and asked my son questions for approximately 45 minutes. He excused my son from the call and spoke to me for about 10 minutes. He said my son did great and would be just fine in the program and a great fit. Because of my son's Autism, Ash wanted to make sure my son would be able to engage, actively participate, and have the emotional and intellectual ability to participate. We were thrilled that this program would be able to help him and that he was a good fit. I changed three people's schedules in order to accommodate the M-F IOP schedule for 12-17 weeks. If you are familiar with Autism, you know that change is not something they are easily flexible with. It took a lot of explaining and hyping up the program for him to be open to it. When he found out the Ash said he'd be a great fit, my son was SO HAPPY that he finally found a place that could help him, "not worry all of the time." We started on Monday, August 10th in the South Jordan location. My son got in the car after his first day and said, "Mom! I'm not alone, other people worry like me." He also showed me a note card that the therapists asked everyone to write their ultimate goal for the program on. My son wrote, "that my OCD would go away and never come back." I called our extended family and let them know how wonderful it went and how invested my son was. We were SO HAPPY. On Tuesday, August 11th, Ash called me to discuss treatment (his voicemail). I called him back and he said they were going to discharge my son from the treatment. ONE DAY. He attended ONE DAY. I asked him did something happen or what the reason was. He said the therapists notes said my son was, "Unable to identify the root cause of his worry." ON THE FIRST DAY. I asked him how ANYONE would be able to do that on their first day and wasn't that what the program was supporsed to helpf their clients with. He said that was a very good question but did not elaborate. He also said the notes said that my son needed more support than the group could provide. I reminded Ash that he interviewed my son and said he would be a great fit and reiterated that HOW could anyone dealing with OCD be able to identify it's root cause in their orienation session? They wouldn't need to go the center if they could do that. The program is 12-17 weeks so how do they expect someone to do that on the first day. The amount of planning, rearranging, and energy it took to make space for my son to attend this program was massive. I am also a single mom and had to postpone another one of my non-driving children's enrollment for SLCC so I could make space to take my son to their program. If I could give this facility less than one star I would. I feel strongly that my son was discriminated against becasue of his disability. There is nothing I can do, but I want others to know what happened to my son and to my family. I had to lie (chose to) to my son and tell him I removed him because I found a better place, but I haven't. I was heartbroken for him because he felt included, accepted, and Ash said he did great and would be great for the group. He finally found others who "worry" like him and he so badly wanted help. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Dismissive and discriminatory. An absolute disservice to the community to treat people the way they treated my son.
I am so grateful for the Intensive Out Patient (IOP) program provided by OCD and Anxiety Centers. I recently received an OCD diagnosis prior to starting this program, and those at the Center helped me hit the ground… running to bring my symptoms down. It's hard work. It takes an attitude of commitment, AND it has blessed me with the tools and knowledge I've needed to manage my OCD even after leaving the program. My interactions with staff were very positive from the front desk to the Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT's) and Therapists. I'm so grateful for the help of John Lewis in helping me understand early on how beneficial this program was for him and how it could be for me. I'm grateful to Joe Keller and his patient guidance towards me as we worked one on one. I could name any and all the BHT's that I worked with and praise them for their dedication to helping me get my life back. I do admit that insurance can be tricky here, and I do wish there was more transparency upfront about that especially if the insurance you have already has a solid limit on how much they will cover in your treatment. After 65 days, my insurance cut coverage off even though I had about 2 weeks left in the 16 week program. I found out about this about 2 days before my last day. That was rough because I truly felt and experienced the good that comes out of diligently attending OCD and Anxiety Centers. Please don't be afraid to ask any and all questions about how the Center works with insurance. To help with my high deductible from my insurance, the Center also can help you set up interest-free payment plans (IF the payment plan is LESS THAN 2 years) and there is even a scholarship from the Marriot Foundation that can award up to $3000 to help as well. I'm grateful for these resources. All in all, the staff was wonderful, but know that this place is NOT talk therapy, but a therapy of DOING to help rewire your brain. There will be homework and there is an expectation of attendance, but I promise you it's worth it if you struggle with OCD and/or anxiety. Thank you, OCD/Anxiety Centers. Thank you for all you do. -Andrew
This program gave me my life back. I went from having a horrible, dark, and hopeless life & that my life would be full of darkness & the chains of my OCD. I started treatment not believing it could really change or help… me, but thank goodness I was wrong! I am a new person! Because of OCD & Anxiety center. Forever grateful.
Content Warning: This review contains content about suicidal ideation. Earlier this year, I was in the hospital for several days with severe anxiety, depression, and insomnia after being off of medication for over a… month. The OCD Anxiety Center was recommended to me by the staff there at the hospital. Ultimately, after attending their partial hospitalization program for 4 weeks I was much worse off than when I came out of that first hospital stay. I had reached an extreme level of anxiety, depression, aggression, and suicidal ideation at the center and they had to call MCOT out to come talk to me. At the end of it my therapist at the program, John, said “see you tomorrow”. The following day I returned to the center only to have a severe mental breakdown including hallucinations, catatonia, and almost attempting suicide, causing me to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance. When I returned to the hospital, I was there for 9 days during which I reached a level of stability that I was not at the entire time I was at the center. A psychiatrist in the hospital, a psychiatrist outside the hospital, and my current therapist that I now meet with all said that I should NOT return to the center until I am more mentally stable on a medication. My current therapist went further, saying that although the program has value, he would not have recommended I go there in the first place. He would have waited until I was in a much more stable place mentally. To a hammer everything looks like a nail, so just be aware that you will be told that this program is what you need, regardless of whether it truly is the right time or not. When I reached a level of mental instability that put my life in danger, I was not told to de-escalate. The therapist at the program, John, said that this is the moment when the brain learns the most and that I should not do anything to try to relieve the anxiety. I would NOT recommend The OCD Anxiety Center for someone just coming out of the hospital. They appeared to me to be ill equipped for patients coming out of the hospital that are mentally unstable and dealing with additional mental struggles like depression and suicidal ideation. There is very little oversight by the therapists there. While being there for 30 hours a week, I met with the therapist at the program, John, for only 1 hour of that and rarely even saw him around on the other days. Those individual therapy sessions were not great. I remember one where he turned on a video for me and then was on his phone while I watched it. They only check twice each day if you have been having suicidal ideation when they should probably be checking every hour. They should not encourage patients that are dangerously unstable to start or continue treatment here. All that said, I believe that their approach is not without merit. If you do well with group therapy, are relatively stable mentally, and are only dealing with anxiety or OCD, you will likely find that this place has much to offer you and you will find healing. While my experience was not positive, I fully recognize that for many people this is a great place for them to get their life back and I wish them the best.
I was a patient here from 2024-2025 and before I get into my reasons of why I would not recommend these centers, I want to offer resources that have given me incredible healing from OCD. 1. Nathan Peterson on YouTube… (channel name OCD and Anxiety) He is a licensed OCD therapist and has SO MANY incredible videos to support you and gives you practical treatment. He also has his own self guided online program to get you better that I believe is less than $300. Whereas this treatment center costs $14,000, that is the number I knew during my treatment. I can attest to his knowledge in providing so much healing when you put what he teaches you to practice. 2. Overcoming Unwanted and Intrusive Thoughts written by Sally M Winston and Martin N Seif (book you can purchase on Amazon I believe for $10 or less) This book is incredible. Practical, easy to understand, it is a guide to quiet that worried voice inside your head that can so completely turn your world upside down. 3. Jesus Christ. He profoundly guided my aching soul through the absolute turmoil of OCD. Read his word in the New Testament and the Old Testament. Pray to Him. He is the great physician, your creator, your greatest friend, and good God who will not leave your side. He is mighty to save. You can purchase a ESV bible (easy version to understand) on Amazon for less than $10. I want to give you hope. If any of you who are looking into this treatment center felt as I did, I know your pain. It can be such mental and physical, unrelenting agony to be stuck in the OCD cycle. It pulled me into my darkest places. You are not alone. I can attest there is light at the end of the tunnel, healing is so real and so possible. These OCD thought patterns are neural pathways in your brain that have been mentally tread over and over so they have become quite strong. However, the dirt can be turned over, flowers planted and new pathways made that are YOU. Your true self who God made and loves so much, no fear. Now, the hard thing is that these are strong neural pathways and they will take time to dig up. I ask you to accept that you are suffering right now, it’s okay to suffer, you are not defined by your suffering, it is not your final resting place, you are not left alone, and you have so much to hope for. You can rest in Christ, perfect rest. Know you have a friend who has been through it who is praying for YOU. As for this center, I will keep my complaints brief, but think people should be aware of them. My treatment was neglectful, I was given very little instruction for ERP and I quickly began feeling like I was drowning. If you are thrown into a pool without knowing how to swim and not given any flotation device it’s quite likely you will panic and drown. The only reason I did not is because of my angel of a husband and my good God. I spoke up about this to the staff, techs, and therapists and small efforts were made. Staff brushed over my concern (and my classmates) and went to defending the program. Additionally, they were untruthful about the cost of my treatment. I was reassured in many emails and at many times that it would cost me nothing because of my insurance coverage (again my classmates were having this same billing issue). They contacted me a year after I had graduated, after I was reassured that they would make sure there was no financial patient responsibility (I have this in writing), with a bill for thousands of dollars being owed to them. Because of my experience I would avoid this center. Use the resources I listed above (of which I have no financial persuasion to mention them) to heal your sweet brain. I know it needs a break. You’ve got this. And above all, He has you.
I have praised and will continue to praise this OCD center to anyone and everyone because it truly changed my life. After having to take time off from school due to debilitating intrusive thoughts and unmanageable… compulsions, my therapist recommended that I seek intensive care at OCD Anxiety Centers. I did, and simply put, the help I found here was unmatched. Exposure therapy is hard and scary but, trust, it works. I have seen it not only with myself, but with the others I interacted with in group therapy. The solidarity and support I felt in group, the empathy and steadiness the BHTs (behavioral health technicians) provided, the skills I learned... it has done me wonders. When I met with my personal therapist the first time since graduating treatment she said the difference was "night and day". I feel it too: I am back at school full time, working part time, managing my relationships, enjoying hobbies, exploring new things. I'm so happy. BUT!!!!!!! The reason I felt compelled to write this review is because of John Lewis, the therapist I was assigned at the center. Not only was my experience with him uncomfortable and unhelpful, my sessions with him were manipulative and cruel. His jokes weren't funny and they were borderline creepy: twenty seconds into our first session he joked that he wanted me to have a panic attack and that he was "a sadist". I am a twenty year old girl and this was how he introduced himself to me in a one-on-one, power-imbalanced situation. Throughout my treatment, John chastised me for asking for help, he guilted that his bosses would get mad at him if I gave my honest feedback on the weekly Satisfaction Survey, and he used ChatGPT to come up with exposure ideas --- this last one felt impersonal and made me question why my family was bending over backwards to pay for this. I spoke to his boss about these issues but the guilting continued. When I began to ask for help from other people and told them my situation, John told me that I was defacing him and if anyone struggled with their mental health, it would be my fault. In the same conversation he told me I could never trust myself because of my OCD and that I had to trust him instead. Forgive me if this review sounds angry. I have tried to calmly reach out to their HR department, and though I received a kind and genuine response, John still works there just the same as before. I have also reached out to his licensing agency but they told me I don't have enough evidence for them to look into anything further. So now I am angry. I feel obligated to share my experience publicly because so many of the people who go to OCD Anxiety Centers struggle with people-pleasing and speaking their minds. I had an otherwise incredible experience, but it sincerely scares me thinking of the rhetoric John uses towards people who are at their most vulnerable. It has the potential to be incredibly destructive. So if you are seeking help, I completely and utterly recommend OCD Anxiety Centers. But I also fervently caution against interacting with John.
This was amazing I never thought it would work and it did thank you so much John and Moe thank you all so much my life is so much better now and I feel more human, I can be around my family now! Also super queer… friendly never got misgendered once I will never forget or stop being grateful to the team.
I recently completed the IOP course and I had an 85% reduction in symptoms. Before I went to the center, my intrusive thoughts were so disturbing and the mental rumination was so intense that I couldn't get out of bed… out of fear of my own thoughts. Since completing the program, the fear is no longer debilitating, and I feel as if I can choose to interact with my intrusive thoughts or not. I was skeptical at first of the therapy they do at the center-- ERP therapy--because when I got there it did feel like my intrusive thoughts got worse. But overtime, as I kept practicing ERP and the skills and doing the work--it got better. I truly believe that ERP worked for me because I worked my ass off to put in the work. ERP only works if you are consistent (hence the intensity of the daily 3 hour IOP course). OCD still is for sure prevalent in my life, and I still have more ERP work to do, but I have the basis to live my life the way that I choose to--not in the way that my OCD screams at me to. As for the center, they are prettty rigid about the way they teach the skills (considering they are literally teaching you to unlearn rigidity, I find this weird), but the program as a whole/overall works. We had a graduation nearly each of the 15 weeks I was in the program, and each time they had similar reduction results as I did. Another thing to note is... this is NOT talk therapy. In my personal experience, talk therapy alone does not help OCD. This is why the program is structured as it is. Don't get me wrong--I love my talk therapist (I did have a few appointments with her while I was in IOP). That being said, ERP is what reduced my symptoms--not talking about them. My talk therapist will now support me as I do a mix of talk-therapy and ERP with her once a week, and as I practice ERP on my own daily. The OCD and Anxiety Center IOP was the hardest thing I have ever done, but incredibly worth it. Over the last 10 years I have done other intensive therapy programs and have seen 7 different therapists--and this program is the first thing that has helped me to see a visible reduction in my OCD symptoms. It's a brutal journey, but I would highly recommend to anyone struggling with OCD. I also made friends at the program who struggle like I do--and that was and is incredibly validating to know that I am not alone. Totally worth the money for me, I feel like I have my life back. A Ily OCD Center IOP program.
We had a very good experience at the OCD/Anxiety clinic. It has changed my daughter’s life where she is able to recognize behaviors and has the tools to deal with them. I highly recommend this program. It’s not a quick… fix, there’s a lot of hard work, sweat and tears, but be patient and stay the course. It is worth it in the end. The staff is outstanding! The counselors and behavior health techs are all so kind and invested. Tyler was an amazing therapist who listened and genuinely cared for my daughter. You’ve all left such a meaningful imprint on my daughter. She’s grown so much and genuinely loves this team—leaving is bittersweet. Thank you for the incredible impact you’ve had on her, both clinically and socially. We’re so grateful.”
Awesome caring staff helped my son during his treatment! I could not be more happy with the outcome after taking a chance at this treatment center. We had tried EVERYTHING to mitigate the symptoms of anxiety and OCD… that he was experiencing, and nothing worked like this did. After a couple months of treatment here we now feel like we have had a complete turn around. The staff is knowledgeable and so caring. From the front desk to the insurance staff they were all so fantastic. I'm so appreciative that my son has a new lease on life. He has learned and grown so much! Cannot recommend highly enough if you are experiencing debilitating symptoms of anxiety or OCD!!
My Daughter is currently going here 5 days a week. All reviews are true. You see a therapist 15 mins once a week. They have zero empathy and you feel worse after seeing them. Then you sit in a building that is 100… degrees and so hot that you feel faint and you sit in a chair in a room with 20 others and get asked what are you doing? Make yourself panic then get handed a packet. You ask a question and they say here's a packet or redirect. It's a total scam, waste of time and money and your OCD and INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS get worse. You hear others OCD and INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS and then pick up their issues and they become yours now too. There is no HIPPA or patient confidentiality or privacy. This place only wants your money and you to sit there and do a packet. I'm worse than I was before I came here. Says my daughter. I just found her a therapist at university of utah Healthcare at huntsman mental health institute who does hour long private sessions for ERP OCD ANXIETY AND INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS TREATMENT THAT WORKS! DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ANOTHER SCAMMED PERSON. also we paid for 16 week therapy in full, our portion after insurance was 3,500. And even though you are paid in full, they still will charge you a extra 350 if you have to miss a day. I'm thankful our family dr sees this scam and writes us Dr notes whenever we ask. This place is AWFUL.
Jon Lewis is one of the most professional and knowledgeable people I have ever encountered he is full of knowledge that will help me the rest of my life. Any time Jon spoke I tried to absorb everything he said he knows… OCD and the nature of the disorder inside and out. William

My experience here was great! The staff is awesome! The treatment really helped me! - Kallie
A few years ago, I shared my review of their IOP and it disappeared when the organization re-branded from being "The OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center" to "OCD Anxiety Centers," so I'm posting another review. In general,… their program can yield positive results for anyone who responds well to Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Keep in mind that ERP may or may not work for you, so before seeking treatment at this center, please keep a few things in mind. ADMISSIONS The person you're speaking to in admissions is paid to persuade people to be admitted to the program. They might be very compassionate individuals who genuinely care about your mental health, but remember you're talking to someone who is essentially giving you a sales pitch. Do your own research, and if you have one, consult with your therapist to determine whether ERP is the best modality to treat your OCD and/or anxiety. INSURANCE At least three of the people in my group were abruptly told their insurance had run out, and they needed to start paying out of pocket or leave without finishing the program. To say this left a bad taste in my mouth is an understatement, and it says a lot about the priorities of this organization. A more patient-centered approach would be to tell people on day one exactly how many weeks will be covered by insurance. Since they don't do this as a standard practice, be sure to call your insurance, and make sure you know the number of weeks they'll cover your treatment. THERAPISTS + BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIANS The therapist I worked with had no experience treating OCD or anxiety, and didn't have a strong understanding of ERP. My time with the therapist wasn't useful. Exposures and other activities are led by Behavioral Health Technicians. When I participated in IOP, most of the techs were people who had recently graduated from college. They were young, inexperienced, and some didn't have a degree related to mental health. A handful of the technicians were kind, and extremely sharp. Others were there because they wanted a job, and they didn't seem particularly engaged in their work. Regardless, none of them had expertise in ERP, and some of them were teaching skills to patients, but they had very little understanding of those skills. MISSING DAYS If you need to miss a day, be prepared to pay for treatment you miss. Regardless of the reason, they will try and charge you missing any days. IT'S A BUSINESS At the end of the day, my impression is that the center was more focused on profit than helping people. Consider that the self pay rate is $350 per day, and their IOP is six weeks minimum, they're collecting at least $10,500 per person for six weeks of treatment, and $21K per person for 12 weeks of treatment (maybe more for insurance payments). If your group has 10 people in it, those people represent $105K to $210K in income. But even with those funds available, patients are kicked to the curb when their insurance can't pay for treatment, and their staff is woefully undertrained. As a final note, be sure to look at the employee reviews on Glassdoor. Some of them reiterate what I've already said here.
Morgan is always so very kind, listens to others, and is so thoughtful! I appreciate her!
We just passed 2 years since having our then 14 year old treated at the OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center and she's still doing incredibly well! Pre treatment - scared of so many things..... people, car accidents, school… shootings, death of loved ones, being kidnapped etc..... she also battled suicidal thoughts, attempts, and panic attacks. Throughout treatment and afterwards - everyone seemed to notice how much more confident and happy she became!! Family, friends, neighbors, therapist, school social worker and on and on all commented on the difference. She's no longer scared of life but empowered, happy, and confident instead! Hallelujah!! In fact, I literally pled with God for solutions vs yet another "band aid" and know He led us to The OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center. There she learned about problematic cycles of thinking/action/inaction, how to break these cycles, as well as actionable tools in approaching life in a better way. We're so grateful for this program. It's been a definite game changer for our family! Sincerely, J. Blanchard
Very little time spent with an actual therapist. You will be left alone or put in a group to try doing exposures with little support. The program is certainly better than nothing but they keep cutting costs and it has… made it less effective.
Thank you to Danielle and John. Amazing! Danielle was so on top of things. Her advice was truly helpful. I needed what she advised. Having someone who really listens and truly is vested in me. It is amazing!
This place helped my aunt get better! She's so strong. I just went to her graduation and it was such a sweet experience. :)
I suppose in regards to how much better I feel after all my time here, I'm obligated to do 5 stars. Fair word of caution, doing treatment here can often feel like hell, so a lot depends on your willingness to keep… facing your fears and discomforts. If you do that, great healing results can occur. I know I still have room to grow, and the progress I've made here has been miraculous. I've made a lot of progress with trauma from years ago.
This program did wonders for my grandson. His OCD and his anxiety have both improved significantly.
This program and doing ERP was extremely helpful! I returned to a level of functioning that I did not even know was possible. I feel like I have more energy and time in my days and feel less overwhelmed by my daily… responsibilities. I am enjoying motherhood and feeling more present with the people I care about and feeling much more hopeful and excited about life and my future! All that said, I was a bit disappointed with the structure of the program. There was very little clinical oversight by the therapists and most of the therapy sessions were supervised by the behavioral health techs who were very kind but lacked the clinical training and expertise to support such heavy emotional work. Overall I'm very grateful for my time in the program but do hope changes are made to make the treatment more effective and supportive to future clients.
Saved my life
Such an amazing center with wonderful professionals. Tyler is an awesome therapist. This center changed the life of our family member for the better and we are so grateful!
This program help me and my children SO MUCH. The staff are so kind and funny, and they really know what they’re talking about.
This clinic saved my life!!! I learned helpful skills and the exposure response prevention therapy is so effective! Thank you!
