Yes, with limits. On one Utah employer plan, Alpine School District Plan C, inpatient and residential substance use treatment is paid at 20% coinsurance in-network and 40% out-of-network, and residential care is capped at 30 days per year. Plan A pays inpatient care at 15% in-network.

For anyone pricing addiction treatment, that second role is the one that shapes the answer: the benefit often belongs to an employer’s own plan, while EMI Health builds the network, runs the authorization and pays the claim.

The company was founded by a group of teachers, dated to the early 1930s on its About page and to 1935 on its broker site, and it is headquartered at 5101 S Commerce Drive in Murray, Utah. It has no stockholders, and it reports more than 400,000 covered individuals, 440,000 on the broker site. Group medical plans are sold in Utah, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho and Texas, with Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania added on the broker site; individual dental, vision and telehealth products reach about 22 states. Marketplace products are dental only, and there is no Medicaid plan and no Medicare Advantage plan in the lineup.
