Having been to and having worked at multiple treatment centers, I have to say that Sana Lake is the best one I have been to. The staff cares and work their butts off. They were short-staffed when I came, but they were… still able to pull it off and gave me a great experience. Great food, too! The owner even comes in multiple times a week and runs a group on Thursdays. He shares his personal life story. You do not get that very often. The nursing staff is very caring as well. I could not sleep for several nights, so the nurse practitioner tweaked my medication several times until we found the right combination. If you’re contemplating going or returning to treatment, you are going to find a better place, in my opinion. I feel that I am ready and finally capable of staying sober long term. Thank you to ALL the staff at Sana Lake.

they stole half my clothes and refused to give them back when i was leaving. and they have strange dress code rules for the women.

Waiting on a reply to the situation that happened but as of now I would negatively rate this place as a no-go. I will update the page as it shows on and looking for positive results based on our negotiations but there's… a lot of unorganized stuff that waste your time and it feels like you're in summer camp like a kid. Lot of fluff and wasted time. I can go on and on but I don't know I'm going to hold back and this was me being gentle and I have a lot more people that will back me up on this so as of now I rate this as one out of five

I am so very Grateful to have had the opportunity to be here at Sana Lake. The staff is absolutely amazing and really sincerely care about you and what you’re going through, and can relate. The facility itself is very… nice and comfortable. I’m rather picky but the food is great. They have a gym, boxing, personal training, yoga, and other great amenities. The members have all been wonderful. I have made so many bonds in such a short time, which I didn’t expect even though I am a people person. I know everyone’s name both staff and members and love that we’re all able to support one another . It has been an amazing journey, and I can say that I am the best version of me, and feeling better than I have in the last 27yrs of drinking and using. I would totally recommend Sana Lake to anyone struggling with addiction. If it can work for me, I believe it can work for you…

I would recommend this place to an extent. I definitely had some security issues with a few members, and a staff member. They were addressed quickly. The food is good for a facility. Overall I was pleased with the… staff. Amanda a case worker is amazing!! Drew is caring and compassionate. Megan is no nonsense and takes her job very seriously. The nursing team is great! Good amount of free time but a lot of very helpful groups and information to soak up. It’s a beautiful property with a relaxing lake. Some rooms need updating but overall pretty comfortable.

Had a great time got to learn about a lot about myself and got to learn a lot about staff everybody here has been very grateful my case manager Tracy has been a wonderful help thank you for everything you've done

This place is the worst !! They do not care about you. I called ahead and asked if I could have my shoulder surgery while I was there and then come back. It’s an outpatient surgery and they told me.yes. After detox,… they proceed to tell me that they cannot have me in their program because I’m not surgery so they kicked me out. I don’t have my surgery and then I come back and they say there will take me to my physical therapy so I go through detox again and then do the same damn thing they do not care if they did they would let you do physical therapy once a week. And still be the program

Sana Lake really changed my life. I honestly can this place gave me hope again it gave me a reason to smile again I walked through the doors broken alone lost no direction at life at all no family no support no friends… no anything ! Sana lake help me build connections a place to call home and a group of people that honestly wanted to see me win ! I couldn't recommend anywhere else to go give this place a try and watch it change your life forever! I love you family ! Thank you for being committed to my success! Recovery for life is this option

I’m not happy that my son was discharged from inpatient within two weeks. The staff indicated he was “ready”. They convinced my son he was ready though he verbalized he was not to me. In all actuality my insurance… wasn’t paying for more than two weeks. This needed to be transparent and stated, not sold to me and my son as if he was prepared for possible failure. I am more impressed with sober living and PHP program but immediately upon his admission he was faced with the anxiety of how everything was going to be paid. Heading for relapse???? Lots of stress there. I am still hopeful that this program works for him. Time will tell

This place is the best. Changed the entire way of my thinking. Most of the staff are in recovery them self's. They know what we need to make positive changes in our lifestyle.

This place is amazing i have been to many rehabs thru out the years and this is the only one I have ever been where the staff truly care about you. Your not just a walking check your a human being

Upon researching for a facility for a family member we settled on Sana Lake Recovery Center with high hopes! Here's the reality of my experience. There self described facility and staff are horribly overstated. The… facility was dirty, and outdated. The staff seemed to be understaffed to provide appropriate care. The recovery patient was a physician with almost 40 years of service to the community, and certainly understands about medical care, reported the care was basically non-existent except for a woman that walked him to the lake and sat with him. No medical, or counseling background. His stay lasted about 9-10 hours. I agreed to pay half of his detox stay to the tune of over $4,000 for 7-8 day stay. I made him pay the other half to show his commitment to the program. About 5 days after them mandating he be picked up within 2 hours of the notification to family members, I called their financial office for a refund, and expressed whatever they were owed for the 9-10 hour stay would be taken our of the funds the patient tendered. I was told that the management team would have to make that decision, and she would let me know. About 1 week went by, and I didn't hear anything, so I called back but only was able to leave a Voice Mail. That Voice Mail message was never answered. So, I called back 4 days later, to only leave another VM. That voice mail was never responded to, either. Two weeks later, I called for the for the 4th time, again with no answer and sent to VM. Five days later, I filed a dispute with Visa. They had over a month to give me a refund, or at least have the professional courtesy of providing any update. Yet, they choose not to respond, at all! Now, it's been two weeks since Visa notified this recovery center of the dispute. As of today, they haven't responded to Visa, either. Talk about lack of common decency, and professionalism. These actions speak loud and clear!!! Like I just read in other reviews, they don't care about the people, it's all about the MONEY!!!!! What other explanation is there for no returned communication after multiple attempts, over 1 month, and no refund of any sort over the last 6 weeks. If I ran my business like that, I'd be out of business!!! Run from this facility as fast as you can!!!!

Fantastic. My case worker Tracey made this experience one of a kind. She is one of the most caring individuals I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and she has helped me build the confidence I really need to continue… to be sober. Thanks Tracy!!!

I went to Sana Lake in July of 2026. Sana Lake Recovery was truly a life-changing experience. From detox all the way through extended care, every step of the process exceeded my expectations. The entire staff—from the… nurses to housekeeping—treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. One thing that really stood out was being assigned a three-person team dedicated to advocating for me guiding me and being there whenever i needed someone to talk to. That level of support made a huge difference in my recovery. The scenery is peaceful and beautiful, creating an environment where you can truly focus on healing. The group sessions are both inspiring and educational, giving me the tools I need to build a better future. What makes Sana Lake different from any other treatment center I've been to is the culture. Even the CEO takes the time to meet members personally and make himself known. That speaks volumes about the organization's commitment to the people they serve. At Sana Lake, i wasnt treated like a patient—i was treated like family, a true member for life. They genuinely cared about my recovery, my future, and my aftercare long after I leave. If you're looking for a place that truly invests in your success, I can't recommend Sana Lake Recovery highly enough.

This place is dangerous. They did not fight to have my family member be able to stay (a quick peer to peer - which I 100% believe could not have been done) would have fixed this. A patient with a SERIOUS 8-yr history… was discharged at 20 days….but here’s the real kicker….WITH A BOTTLE OF MUSCLE RELAXERS. (BTW….That’s what brought him there in the first place.) That then begun a complete and total unraveling. I would personally tell anyone who wants to even CONSIDER this place to quickly and immediately change your mind. By allowing his discharge at 20 days, they just got to put a new patient in his place and make more money. No one in their right mind could have even remotely thought 20 days was acceptable for this patient. It clearly showed me what their priority is …..turning over patients as quickly as possible because that’s how you make your money. Consider looking at facilities outside of the St. Louis area. We found an AMAZING facility in Indiana that saved this kids life. Hey….let me give them a shout out here! BOCA RECOVERY. RUN….don't walk away From this place. Approximately five days after he was discharged from Sana Lake he was BACK IN THE HOSPITAL with a muscle relaxer overdose….good job Sana Lake. Good job.

I immediately was welcomed with open arms. My care team was amazing! Helped me with coping skills, housing, and anything else I needed. I would highly recommend.

I have attended a number of rehabs and Sana Lake is by far the best. They treat you like an adult. And the staff is very accessible.

Great staff and group leaders excellent program and they really care about the people who come and go.
