By Cigna’s own description, an intensive outpatient program taking insurance meets three to five days weekly for three or four hours, and partial hospitalization meets five to seven days weekly for six to eight hours. Evernorth marks both levels “call to verify”, so a Missouri program should call Cigna before treatment starts.

Cigna does not require prior authorization for routine outpatient behavioral visits, so Missouri members can simply start individual, family or group therapy, an evaluation, or medication visits. Yes. Cigna’s national Standard 3-Tier drug list, updated in September 2026, puts brand Suboxone on Tier 3, Zubsolv and Lucemyra on Tier 2, and generic buprenorphine-naloxone plus acamprosate lowest. Cigna’s LocalPlus service-area table, dated January 2023, lists Kansas City and St. Louis as its Missouri areas, so a Kansas City member’s card shows whether the plan is LocalPlus or national. Cigna’s PPO can also reach Springfield employees through another company’s plan.
