Burrell Inc – Macon

If you want any empathy, do not visit Burrell at ANY location. I've tried multiple times over the years to get help, both as a minor and adult, and Burrell has only helped me see how little their employees care for the… patient. The amount of times I've been denied my prescribed medication with no offer of assistance is vile. Communication is flimsy. I have made appointments and arrived at the agreed date and time, only do find out my appointment was never put in the system. Please don't be like me, wasting literal years trying to save your life when the one you ask for help only wants your wallet. AVOID BURRELL IF YOU ARE SUCIDAL. THEY WILL DRIVE YOU FURTHER INTO IT. EDIT (09/02/2026): They have rebranded as Centerstone. Please be aware as they seem to be trying to contact previous patients under this new name. They do not tell you they were Burrell until you point it out in the conversation. I told them I never heard of their new name, and despite me previously stating to Burrell I would no longer be a patient, they still tried to contact me. Unacceptable.

I’ll start out saying I have a great therapist but I saw Betty Long last week. Immediately after my appointment I knew she wasn’t a good fit for me but I requested my medical records due to my ongoing disability claim.… The amount of errors I found was insane. I get a call today stating that they use AI AND Betty refused to fix those errors. My lawyer wasn’t too impressed either. I had an in depth assessment done for proper diagnosis which was emailed to her nurse. Mind you the woman who assessed me has way more education than I’m sure anyone in that office has combined. She turned around and changed a diagnosis that was taken away with explanation as to why it was changed prior to the appointment. She also claimed she diagnosed a certain condition THEY DONT EVEN TEST FOR and acted as though that was a wrong diagnosis and I felt as though I was being judged and ridiculed for something I was born with. I thought working in MH you had to have compassion of some sort. It’s crazy how falsifying records is such a common thing. REQUEST YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS AT ALL COSTS. You never know what bs a licensed professional and AI will put down.

There psychiatrist will diagnose you with a mental illness and when you file for disability the psychiatrist will not help you whatsoever to get approved for disability. I believe this is just a big money racket for… Burrell's

I attempted to get my son seen last year in May. I filled out the paperwork and was told the soonest we could be seen would be November. So we made a November appt, it would be a telehealth appt. Come November the… counselor calls to reschedule a week later. No big deal. Then the time comes for the appt. I get no link, no email. I attempt to call three times, each time I get a voice mail. I am done with Burrell at this point. But then, months later, like after christmas, I get a call an from Burrell telling me I need to reschedule. I call back to tell them no thanks, and it's not the office in moberly, where I originally filled out the paperwork. They give me the moberly office number, I call it and guess what? An answering machine. I'm not calling anindividual therapist, they have an office with a secretary. Idk why this happens. So I leave a message. 2 weeks or so later they call me again and the process repeats itself. It was a pretty frustrating experience. Counselers deal with people who need real help. I don't know how 6 month waiting periods and answering machines and poor communication has to do with that, but hopefully Burrel will address whatever management/administrative issues are interfering with letting counselors help patients and patients get help.

They have been a great help to our family

Getting a refill for my son's adhd medicine is a nightmare. My pharmacy sends in request and never hears anything back. I call and get sent to a voicemail. This is the second time my son has been forced to go through… withdraws because of them not caring

As a parent of an adult dependent needing care, I found them to be severely lacking in empathy or having the ability to properly diagnose. Just wanted to push pills. Very disappointed. I will never take him back there.… Please save your canned response as your words after the fact are meaningless. Received horrible customer service in Boonville as well as Columbia.

I had a wonderful Dr at BBH for 10 plus years. Dr Armando Favazza. Then he left and we began having rollover Drs. These Drs are dirty. Underhanded and disrespectful. I was diagnosed by Favazza to have sleep narcolepsy.… Yet Dr Blount caught me off guard and prescribed me seroquel for sleep. 600mgs for some one who already sleeps more than I live real life. I have sleep narcolepsy. Add to that 6 Xanax a day and 3 drawers of meds for side effects the seroquel was causing me and it's only a mere glimpse into the zombie these horrible sick ppl caused me. They lie. In person and on paper. Please never trust these ppl. They dropped me as a patient the same day I had a pancreas attack from the medication. Vomiting, weight gain of 123 lbs. I was in literal hell but they did not care. For 3 days I could not walk and was left to crawl on the floor. Dr Guessling helped me with that. These ppl destroy lives. They are sicker than the ppl they treat. My hope is to save some ppl. They do not care about you. I promise you that.

Great staff! Made me feel at ease. My caseworker is 100% amazing. They’re here to definitely help.

So far not to bad

I do not recommend them. I can NEVER get a hold of anyone. Its been weeks and I have not gotten a call back after multiple voice mails. Didn't get a call until almost a week after my last appointment to begin with. Wish… I could day it was even phone tag, but it was one message with a number and ever since then I can't get a hold of them. My work performance is suffering due to this.

They wasted an hour of time just to tell me they can’t take me because none of their staff are right fit for me because of my case. Don’t make an appointment for the client or waste time if they are on busy schedule.… You guy need someone in person not only for cameras! I do not recommend this place.

Horrible customer service. Called the office and the woman that answered acted like just answering the phone was a burden, she then goes on to ask me what I want or what do I think I can get from their service she asked… this very snidely then interrupted me in a condescending manner saying "our services aren't free". Wouldn't take a dog there for that kind of treatment.

They agreed to meet with my daughter to help with some issues but at the last minute, without so much as a phone call, decided they weren't going to take on her case. If you can't/won't take on a new client, say that.… If you agree to take the client, at least see the child before saying that you can't help. 0/5 stars should be an option .
