Really helped my family, great outpatient program
My experience at Sandstone has been nothing short of transformative. From day one, the staff made me feel welcomed and supported throughout every step of my recovery journey. As a dual diagnosis facility, they truly… excel at addressing the intersection of substance use and mental health — and the care I’ve received reflects that expertise. The team is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but genuinely compassionate toward everyone walking through their doors. Their PHP and IOP programs are exceptionally well-run, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking meaningful, structured support. I also want to give a special mention to Lisa, who has been outstanding. Her dedication, warmth, and professionalism made a real difference in my experience, and I’m so grateful I made the commitment to this program. If you’re considering Sandstone, don’t hesitate — it may be one of the best decisions you make.
Great people and great therapist.
Sandstone has given me a safe space to grow and learn with likeminded people. Everyone here is so amazing and helpful. I have truly gained a new outlook on life because of this place. So immensely grateful for the… resources provided here. I would recommend to anyone seeking help!
Sandstone was there for my family when we really needed them, very appreciative of them!
If your child needs help, look elsewhere. My daughter has problems with drugs and alcohol along with her mental health issues and behavioral issues. We were told they would be able to help her here, however she was… discharged after she exhibited these behaviors to staff. One of the counselors there, Spring is very disrespectful to not only the parents but the children as well. I know my daughter has issues and isn't always truthful but when she started out doing well with one of the therapists there Kristin, then this therapist steps in and then my daughter is back to having serious issues again, I am inclined to believe my child. She already has issues opening up to people, feeling comfortable with therapists and even wanting to go. All of the previous week I had no issues with her attending but any mention of this therapist Spring, and I could tell it was upsetting my daughter. Spring apparently kept saying that my daughter was breaking dress code but never made the effort to reach out to me before things escalated. She as a therapist laughed at my daughter when she needed some space and was disrespectful to her mental health struggles. Additionally following her into the bathroom, accusing her of having fake pee and other things. I am now in a situation where this facility cannot handle my daughter, kicked her out of the program because a therapist who in my mind has no business working with children and I have to find a new PHP program. Thanks for nothing Sandstone.
Warm, compassionate care of my daughter. Just starting the program but already have a lot of hope
Experience was ok. After entering a different IOP and PHP in Boulder, I can say the experience at Sandstone was poor in comparison. Disorganized, poor attention to HIPPA, and quality of meeting at Sandstone was awful.… The meetings were mostly irrelevant to teenagers. Would not return.
my kid made 0 progress in the PHP program. She was there for a month and learned no skills and we had no communication from the team.
Im pretty disappointed in this place. I feel like they lied to me at intake. I made it very clear that my son needed a mental health diagnosis and treatment first and foremost, alcohol abuse was a byproduct of whatever… mental health issues he has. They said all the right things and agreed, took my money, then put him on general anxiety meds and didnt do anything for his mental health. I talked to them after treatment was done and they said they would call my wife to discuss. No call back after a month.
The worst rehab facilities ever told me I’m not welcome. They don’t want me and they don’t care.
As an Addiction Counselor and Family Coach, I have worked with families whose children have been in varying levels of treatment at Sandstone Care. Their residential treatment for adolescents is outstanding, serving this… younger population, for which there are not as many treatment options. Their IOP for adolescents and young adults is also excellent, and includes a family support element. Their staff is professional, compassionate, and responsive to individual's unique needs. I would highly recommend Sandstone Care for adolescent and young adult treatment of substance use disorders.
This place is absolutely awful. My mother developed a severe bed sore while staying here — it got so bad that the infection spread to her bone. The level of neglect and unprofessionalism was shocking. The staff… constantly complained about being understaffed, and it was obvious that residents were not getting the care they needed or deserved. The worst decision we ever made was trusting this facility to take care of her. I would never recommend this place to anyone — please look elsewhere for your loved one’s safety and well-being.
While I was a little hesitant getting into treatment like most, the staff at sandstone were extremely patient and caring throughout the whole process. I attended and completed the dual diagnosis iop program while in… treatment the staff at sandstone did an amazing job to make me feel welcome and comfortable and addressed and concerns quickly and effectively. The groups were very involved and really challenged me to grow as a person. After treatment I’ve been attending the alumni program that meets regularly and does fun events. It’s been a really good way to connect with others in the sober community and to get the extra support when I need it. I would highly recommend looking into sandstone if your considering treatment or haven’t found a place that’s right for you.
I went through sandstone twice. Once when I was 18 and again when I was 19. At the time I was not willing to admit that I had a problem with substances. I thought I had everything figured out. The years after I had… graduated the program I was able to prove to myself that I still knew nothing about my alcoholism. I am grateful for sandstone since I wouldn’t have even been able to have any type of knowledge about my own substance use if it wasn’t for the amazing staff over at sandstone. They helped me get my foot through the door into the world of recovery. I don’t know where I would be without sandstone and I am beyond grateful for the effort the staff puts in to help people with their mental health/substance abuse. I now have a great relationship with my family, a true connection with my friends and most important I have a life worth living now. That is just the surface of what recovery has brought into my life. I have sandstone to thank for that!
Things I loved Sandstone Care 1) Group therapy, and learning new skills. 2) Once enrolled you can also schedule individual therapy. 3) After graduating the program you are invited to Alumni events. So you always feel… connected to the program and get to meet previous graduates of the program. Some events I’ve been to were Lantern Festival, Animal sanctuary, Game Nights, and many more. There are also zoom sessions. I really am thankful for the Alumni group and coordinators for always checking in.
Very disappointing. If the patient doesn't fit their cookie cutter model, they are pushed out and not supported. When reaching out for IOP help I do NOT recommend them, look elsewhere. (Our experience was at the… Broomfield/Interlocken location)
If i could rate this 0 stars I definitely would. This place gave me severe trauma
I healed extraordinarily
Sandstone is an amazing resource for adolescents and their families struggling with addiction.
A fantastic team of professionals helped me work to solve my problems with addiction and lead me to a better life. With group therapy, family therapy, individual therapy and psychiatrist visits, all bases are covered at… Sandstone. I especially like the Alumni program in which Alumni of Sandstone meet once a week and have events once a month. The Alum group is a fantastic way to stay connected with a supportive sober community and has helped me immensely in my recovery.
As a professional in the mental health community, I can't say enough about Sandstone Care. They go above and beyond to meet the therapeutic goals of their clients. They are family-focused and work to treat the family,… not just the individual. We have had mutual clients and I am always impressed by the level of communication, care, and dedication they have to their clients. I highly recommend Sandstone for any teen or young adult seeking drug and alcohol use treatment.
I work professionally and educationally with parents who have utilized Sandstone’s inpatient and IOP for their child. These programs have been instrumental in forming new approaches, outlooks and outcomes to their… children’s substance use disorders, as well as the underlying issues causing this. The support parents have found, as well as the treatment and consistent interventions provided, have filled a needed gap for all involved...thank goodness there is an adolescent treatment program we can count on in our area!
The staff is amazing, and our daughter is thriving in this program, for the first time we have hope
You and your staff were very helpful during this difficult time. Thank you.
This is my 5th rehab I have selected for my 22 yr old son and we came from Florida where they were all 12 step programs my son had attended that barely made a difference long term. This program is not a religious or 12… step but has exactly the program my son actually was looking forward to going to in order to change his life from one of chaos to a survivor, Here they assess you, work with you, train you, help get you a job when you are ready. Live in the group home with your peers for up to 6 months while working. There is nothing close to this anywhere else.
