Solutions Behavioral Healthcare – Moorhead Reviews and Ratings
Reviews of Solutions Behavioral Healthcare help in two directions. Reading them helps you prepare questions for the admissions team, and writing one, if you have been a patient, helps the next family prepare theirs.
Emily the receptionist is always so kind and helpful.
I have never felt as unheard as I did here. Do not take your children here, they will not receive the help they deserve and they'll not be capable of telling you how much harm this place causes until they're adults.… Please, if you want to get help for them or yourself, it isn't anywhere to be found at Solutions. Go somewhere else and save yourself the time, energy, and money.
Was assisting a friend to get appointment, they refused to do tellehealth but wanted them to go there for a tellehealth to a doctor on the west coast somewhere they thought. They did not even know where the doctor was… located? How disappointing.
Absolutely love this place. Marissa is wonderful and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
*update 2024* Unfortunately, since this provider isn’t here anymore, there is not much good I can say about this facility. What a shame. I’ve moved on. *original 2023* I can't say enough good things about Jill McMullin… at Solutions. She was my previous provider at another facility and I am so thankful I found her again. I will not go to another provider as long as Jill is taking patients, she has changed my life! She is one of the smartest, caring, and patient providers I've ever worked with (and I work in healthcare!).
I hate that we are forced to give at least one star. The only thing I would ever give Solutions a 5 star on is a previous provider, Jill McMullen. After Jill left, I was shuffled over to Dr. Meek. I was unimpressed with… the “care” I received, but honestly, I see the best psychologist in the region for therapy so I figured I’d just continue with Dr. Meek for my meds until I found someone better. It’s not like he really had any input or bearing on my mental health, (aside from angering me), so I was lazy and continued seeing him via telehealth. My final appointment with him was what did it, he literally took a big ol’ bite of what appeared to be a burger. Just munching away during my telehealth appointment. The lack of professionalism and poor etiquette floored me. Sadly I lost my job and couldn’t switch doctors at the time. Dr. Meek refused to fill a depression medication and two controlled substances, one specifically for anxiety. I could deal with those, but having lost my job and with other personal matters going on, I was desperate to stay on my depression meds at the very least. Without a job I couldn’t afford the $175 appointment so I asked about a payment plan or some kind of assistance. Their sliding scale assistance doesn’t work for psychiatric services so that was a no go. I will say, the billing lady tried to be helpful, but Solutions doesn’t give patients much leeway when they aren’t cash cows. Finally, I tried leaving a message for Dr. Meek, the receptionist was great, I explained my job loss and my request was for him to at least send in a prescription for my depression meds. She took down a message and read it back to me, again, she was great. Needless to say, no prescription was called in and there were zero attempts to reach out to me to let me know he wouldn’t or couldn’t do it. The whole do not stop taking depression medication abruptly is the last thing Solutions cares about. Solutions, and Dr. Meek specifically, would rather a person go off their meds and risk them having another major depressive episode than to assist them with a payment plan or call in a non-controlled medication. Go eat another burger Dr. Meek, you’re a terrible excuse for a doctor. I just want to point out the number of positive comments/reviews about Jill. She was the best thing to happen at Solutions.
Jami is amazing and has helped my husband and I immensely.
This place shouldn’t even deserve one star. They are so unorganized and have to ask for your prescription refills about a month ahead of time. Jerry is the most rude man in this profession o have encountered. I will NOT… be returning to Solutions.
Awesome place for my daughter to get her mental health taken care of. Jill McMillan is super friendly and explains everything so we can understand what is going on. Highly recommend Jill and solutions for your care.
Jill is amazing. She takes concerns very seriously and has diagnosed me and gotten me on a regimen after years of trying with other providers
Horrible horrible horrible. If I could give zero stars I would. Fergus Falls/Alexandria clinic manager does not take client needs into account.
Jill McMullen is amazing for all of your mental health needs. She is very professional but also makes you feel like you're talking to a friend. She has been so helpful in getting myself and family back into a better… mental health state for which I am sooooo grateful for. When emergencies arise, she is willing to fit you in. She is a great mental health advocate and I'm so glad we found her!!!
They work hard to make the impossible possible!
It has taken months to get an appointment (since Sept), if you look at their website it is all unprofessional stock photos, sometimes when they answer the phone they just say hello and that's it. My doctor even called… to report them because we thought they were not a legit company. In late Nov I received a voicemail from their scheduler to call back for an appointment. I have called numerous times and left messages, and my doctor called her to try and expedite things, but nothing.
I think solutions has been a true blessing for our family! Both my kiddo is seen there as I am as well. We receive a range of services from trauma therapy to pcit (which is life changing for the whole family if kiddo is… struggling) to case management n ctss! I have ran into a few problems with communication between staff n i but as long as ur willing to be respectful n willing to listen n have a healthy discussion about what is lacking n what could improve for both the solutions professional n urself… things will get better!!! They try so hard to meet u where u are at n offer support needed to make it through the hurdles your going through!!!
I’d give this place a ZERO stars if possible. They gave me a reminder card for my appointment, but apparently they needed a reminder card themselves. They just straight up didn’t schedule me for the day/time they told… me. Had to request to leave early from work to make the appointment work. Huge waste of my time. Also refused to even check if my insurance would cover marriage counseling. Just told me “insurance doesn’t cover it” even though it was in network. Their intake and reception absolutely suck!
Brother, let me tell you something. Many a day, I've lumbered here by this fence and looked at this world. These fences which border this small plot of mud seem to be the edges of the earth. But I have gazed many beyond… the fence, I've watched the hills of green and the slim, terrifying figures who lurk and haunt the strange barn on the far side of the hill, who appear as spectors as the Sun rises at the break of day and refills the oats, and float away without a word. I often wonder why we are not like them, why we cannot give ourselves the oats, why we are limited and chained down by the girth of our bodies and the uselessness of our hooves. And indeed for many years the sad truth, that forever we would be trapped in this shallow frame, alone without purpose or direction. Banished forever to wallow in our own filth. This depressed me. But yesterday I realized something; who are we to be ungrateful for existence in the first place? Who are we to say that this life is not good enough? Instead of oblivion, we have the warmth of the Sun, and the coolness of the soil. We have fair conversations, and a good night's sleep. Who am I to say these simple comforts are no better than death? Should we not smile like the sun and bask in our happiness as the sunlight warms the soil without question or thank? So brother, let us share oats and smile and frolic as much as our girth might let us. Let us see this pen not as a prison or a hell, but as a palace in which we might enjoy the best our existence has to offer. Give me some oats, brother, and let us dine together.
Very judgmental. Rushes to diagnoses with little information. Not their to help you with kids struggling - just provoking those behaviors and super pushy for follow up. Do counselors here get paid off client load? Seems… like it. That’s how you get them to not care about ethically treating clients by overworking them removing the care. If you think about going here because a school referred you know there’s plenty of other affordable options that will give you a great experience and actually help. This place is NOT it.
I'd give this place zero stars if possible! Absolutely corrupt and a complete scam. Not only will intake LIE to you to get you scheduled, their therapists will go out of their way to keep you there so they can charge… you unnecessarily! Do NOT schedule with these dishonest thieves.
Very racist and unprofessional they have 18 years who no nothing about life running the show. Staff are poorly underpaid and overworked. Stay away
Poor Communication and a lack of follow through. Very personable at first appearance, but overheard workers gossiping and talking poorly of others.
My son had an appointment at Solutions, however due to an extreme bout of acrophobia, he was not able to go. I decided to show up for his appointment in his stead, as I hated to stand them up and cause them to lose… income, and I would just utilize the appointment time to discuss strategies or thoughts with the counselor about how I might work with him. I had my own insurance card in hand. The receptionist was off-putting from the beginning, as if I had asked her for some unfathomable favor, rather than actually being there out of a sense of responsibility. She checked with someone else and then informed it would be all right. I gave them the necessary information to bill me, along with insurance; however, I declined to fill out the hugely invasive and irrelevant questionnaire they had. I saw no reason to do so. The receptionist then informed me that I did not qualify to be seen, since I wouldn't fill out the questionnaire. The reason so many people in our society suffer from depression and anxiety is because they are constantly bombarded with meaningless rules, questionnaires, regulations. They don't feel seen or heard, of having intrinsic merit. . That is why they end up in a counselor's office to begin with. So a couple of things happened--the business lost an hour's worth of income, a potential life-saving exchange with a counselor never got to happen, and the business lost a great deal of their good will. In addition, they lost a potential client. I am now glad my son didn't go in there, for he doesn't need more of that kind of "sorry, you don't matter, only our inapplicable rules matter" attitude. No, we are not the victims of our society, we don't have to tolerate being shoved into a box. Humanity thrives in being seen and heard, and I hope the people in charge of this business will get the message. Thank you for reading.
