This place is definitely comparable to prison they make you feel like you're insane treating you like like trash and talking down on you staff are highly inappropriate with kids there. I was there for close to two years… and my mental health deteriorated instead of improving

My girlfriend was here for two years, the whole time she was visually getting worse and worse. I visited her almost every weekend and multiple times she had bruises and even a fractured wrist at one time. I saw her go… in for running away and addiction problems, and while she was there she got introduced to harming herself. It took both of us down a dark path, I heated seen my girlfriend like that and I couldn't ignore it so I got here out of there. Overall In MY opinion I would not send anyone there

Do not send your kids here especially your little girls, unless you want male staff to touch and talk to them inappropriately and harass them years later. Also when I was here staff would provoke kids and get them to… fight each other also would meet up with kids while they were home on visits

I was a patient here, a couple years back, and my experience was very poor, aside from a few staff members and one therapist. The ones that had a funny way of doing their job were the ones that always had some sort of… attitude during the day, and had a cocky way of running the facility and purposely trying to get a laugh out of whoever was doing what, which I find very unprofessional in a facility such as this one. So no, I wouldn't recommend sending your kids here, if its for something as small as an evaluation, unless the old staff have already retired and they got new people that actually know how to be professional on the floor in a place like this, or any place like this.

I used to be there. Back in 2008-2009 I was only 15. Except back then my name was lupe. Starview was a place that was for the kids that were bad. A place where the system didn't know where else to place us. Basically… the last resort group home. Yeah I may have been on unnecessary pills but the staff never treated us bad. It was actually us kids that made it a living hell for the staff. Late night messing with the staff. Floading the bathroom sinks. Fighting. And of course there was I. Getting in trouble fought twice there and I was more for getting high and sneaking into my girls room. I've heard so much that everything has changed that the staff are bad and the kids are even as bad. When I first got there I wanted to fight everyone in my way only because my mom didn't fight for me. So I was places in there. So no that place didn't make us bad. Starview try to help as much as they can to understand why we end up bad and end up there. Starview changed my life. If I didn't go I probably would have been found dead. Being place there gave me a chance to get cleaned up and have a life. Now I am a gown adult with 2 kids that love me so much. And I have starview to thank for that. I came from nothing to being a mother having my own place. So I don't care what anyone saying. I thank starview for giving me that chance in life to make a difference. Instead of being another statistic that the system labels us to be. I became something in life. Went to high school and graduated. And went off to college as well. So thank you starview. And I miss the one staff that showed me tough love. Brenda she was awesome. And the night shift lady. She name was Amber she was always there for me and she even worked at Maryvale

This place is awful. I am still dealing with trauma from being there almost 15 years ago. There was abuse. Medical abuse. The doctors there loaded me up on meds that caused me develop tardive dyskinesia. When I was… forcibly removed due to ABUSE by them the doctors treating me after were scared the tardive dyskinesia would be permanent. And there was no possible was it could of been an accident. Its insane to me that the facility is still up in running. Also the pictures make it looks so much nicer than it is. We were never allowed outside. Only in a cage. The place was awful. Staff were all awful. Witnessed multiple people being violently abused by staff.

I went there a long time ago. In the 90's. The place is not the best . Some people made it easier for me. Johnny was my staff member at the time. The place dose not look like that when I was growing up there. I did have… good memories and bad ones to. Playing baseball there on the track field . Working at the coffee hut and gardening washing cars in the back parking lot was good for me. I never got to go home. Feeding the homeless was something else they did and the neighbors never had a issue back then. I met my best friend / boyfriend my one true love there. He made it easier to be there. I miss you Chitwan I hope you made it out ok. It's a bittersweet kind of thing. Some of the girls back then was my only family. I miss you Sky and Sheila and Dorothy and Mercedes. I miss getting my hair done and my therapist was a wonderful person she really did want to help those kids back then .

I know a lady who was ask to leave the Torrance Facility after beating up a child instead of firing her they ask her to resign . That place needs to be investigated. The system is corrupt. I ask why didn’t they report… her for child abuse and fire her they hung up on me . When I mentioned the employee name . True Story

Everybody talking horrible on this place Smh I used to be one of those kids over 10 years ago And they were honestly the best group home I ever had and the last one too The staff treated me like their own and went… beyond their job description and times used their own money so we can have outings I loved my therapist she actually helped me and I loved the group managers too mine was Michael and he helped me greatly Idk what you guys talking about And for those people saying bad things because their child is there It’s your fault your child is there cause honestly that’s the last option for a child that’s a level 14 facility what happen before take responsibility Don’t blame the group home.

My child is trapped in a nightmare there. Staff are abusive. She's gotten worse. I feel like I've lost the love of my life to this money grabbing cps ran insane asylum. She was normal with problems of course, their… bottom like in money. Disrespecting my child daily. She scared, confused, depressed and so angry. They make up rules as they go. No one accepts responsibility. Their therapist is cold, rude clinical with no empathy. Obviously can't have a private practice so she works at institutions bc they are ordered to see her. It needs to be investigated. My daughter is slowly dying. I cry everyday, but starview protects no one but themselves and their company. Leaving the children, my child more traumatized. Shame on you. DO NOT EVER SEND YOUR CHILD THERE.

Please read before you move-in to a home near Star View. They have zero respect for the rest of the community. It's extremely loud all of the time and it feels like the inmates run the prison. Zero discipline.… Screaming, loud music, banging on windows and fences. Save your time and look elsewhere to live. Do not buy or rent near this place. Period.
