Burrell Inc – Trenton

This was my first rehab experience, and honestly it completely changed my view of what rehab was supposed to be like — in the worst way possible. The staff acted stuck up and rude most of the time, and it felt like they… looked down on the people there instead of actually trying to help them. Multiple people constantly ran out of their medications for days at a time, which is completely unacceptable in a rehab facility. The place itself was dirty, poorly managed, and stressful to be in. The counselors and CSS workers seemed like they didn’t care at all. Most groups felt pointless, nothing was explained well, and I honestly learned nothing from being there. Instead of support, it felt like the staff were just there for a paycheck. For people already struggling and trying to better themselves, this environment made things even harder. If you’re serious about recovery, I would strongly recommend looking somewhere else because this place did more harm than good.

The two ladies at the reception desk were amazing, both professional and courteous. They made me feel very comfortable while waiting for a visit. They both need a raise.

Don’t really understand the low rating of this rehab. The only person willing to change has to be yourself. The only outcomes of this is rehab is SOBRIETY, DEATH OR LASTLY PRISON. They genuinely care about your being… and I’m glad that God placed me in the care of these people. I wish nothing but the best for EVERYONE that comes through here but you HAVE to do it for yourself. You have family, friends that care deeply about you and you can better yourself with the personal time you get to yourself. Look for something to believe in because you can not only make a difference in not only yourself but for your children and the people who surround you and love you.

Kim and Wendy need to be replaced. I've taken thyroid medication for several years, first thing when I wake up in the morning or at least 30 mins before I hv breakfast. Those 2 staff members refused to give me the… medication. until 7:30 am, when I woke up at 5 am and wanted to eat some fruit that they have out all the time because they don't serve breakfast until 7am. Then wanted me to sign that I refused the medication which is a lie. They couldn't keep the temperature in the building under control it was either freezing or too warm. You can not bring any type of books into the facility, even know it says that you can if they are brand new. My Family spent money on a sketch book, word seach book, notebook, and coloring books, they were all brand new and I was not allowed to take them in. They need to remove those from the list of things you can bring in. The food they serve is catered from Hy-Vee and is ok but caused severe gas in several people and they have no anti gas meds on-site, but they do have medication for constipation, diarrhea, Tylenol, or ibuprofen. The beds are uncomfortable. Clients can not have vapes on smoke break but staff is allowed to smoke them right in front of clients. Vapes should be allowed just like cigarettes, brand new and unopened. Most of the staff are caring, helpful and friendly. There is No doctor on-site only through video call. I'm not sure what kind of medical detox they have but they charge you over $1,000 for medically assisted detox which consists of a staff member checking your blood pressure every few hours and that's it.

Been to a few psychiatric offices & finally found thee one!! Everyone I've come across is caring, attentive, understanding, listens AND can repeat what was said just about word for word!! My caseworker aka social worker… aka whatever, Chris Maher & psychiatrist Dr. Ulrich, IS THEE BEST!!! She tells it how it is, honest, yet kind & respectful at same time. He actually listens & can repeat what was said just to make sure he heard correctly!! They do their BEST to make the patient better!!! They don't want to stuff pills down ur throat & send u on ur way!! Been with them little more then a year & HIGHLY recommend this office!!!

This program is like many others, you get what you put into it!! If you make a choice you want to change the fokes here will help you too!

Therapist was on her phone during my therapy session. She also diagnosed where she shouldn't have.

I came in on a Monday an for alcohol that got out of control because I was on oxycontin from multiple surgeries, once I got to my detox room they put me in with another women from prison who had influenza A sure enough… by Friday I went to see the dr at the hospital an tested positive, so I later found out the they dr I seen for the flu cut off my adivan that I've been on for 5 yrs for depression, needless to say the time I was there I got no help an never seen a counselor nor psychologist but yet the only meds I had to help me with with drawing an dr not therapist took me off what was help an I have severe panic attacks an an PTSD they made me wore instead of better I dont recommend this place at all

Absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself, ( all of the staff ) are extremely helpful and they do care you just have to want it and it WILL WORK. I finally have a purpose and no longer feel empty. 😊👍
