Only made my condition worse. DO NOT BRING YOURSELF OR ALLOW YOUR KIDS TO GO TO THIS FACILITY. Hi, I was a patient who was very recently there and I’m thankful that I made it out alive. This place only made my condition… a hundred percent worse than it was when I was admitted, I don’t understand how this place is supposed to help people and make them feel better. You are treated like an inmate in prison instead of a patient in need of care. The staff treat the patients with extreme rudeness. I don’t see how they are supposed to be mental health care workers. They never check up on the patients and see how they are doing, they only get annoyed when a patient is struggling or needs something that they can’t access themselves. One patient was waiting for the nurse to give her her medicine after it being 20 minutes since she was supposed to take it, and the nurse was fighting with the patient about it despite the fact the patient wasn’t being rude at all. The workers took the nurses side and said “do you people think you are in some 5-star resort?” as if the patients don’t deserve care or respect. If you sleep out in the common area/unit, like I did, the workers who watch over you have no regard for the fact you are supposed to be sleeping. They all talk and laugh extremely loudly, play loud music or videos from their phones or computers, slam doors, etc. After not being able to sleep for a whole 42 hours and being denied the ability to take a nap after hitting the 24 hour mark, when I was finally granted the permission to sleep at 11 PM I was woken up every hour until 6 AM due to the workers being extremely loud and inconsiderate of their surroundings. The place is extremely dirty and unsanitary. I couldn’t bring myself to use the bathroom for 3 days because of the conditions of the bathrooms. I was put on a cot in the middle of the common area/unit instead of being given a room, and it was basically like sleeping on the ground. The ground was covered in whoever knows how old gunk, the floors that are supposed to be white were a light gray color. If you are on the suicide/SI watchlist, you are basically denied basic human rights. You are not allowed to sleep in a room and are forced to sleep on a cot on the ground in the middle of the common are/unit. You’re not allowed to have a sweater despite the fact they keep it extremely freezing cold in the building, my body could not stop shaking during the first day of me being there because I couldn’t contain the temperature. You’re also not allowed to go outside with all the other patients even though you are under 24/7 supervision. They mix adults and kids together, along with females and males. This makes it an extremely uncomfortable environment, it also makes it hard to tell who’s an adult and who’s a kid. If an adult is talking to a kid (even if the kid approached them first) the adult will get yelled at and punished for doing so. The place is extremely depressing, all the walls are colored a very muted blue and there are barely any pictures or positive affirmations on the walls. It’s just muted blue brick walls. There is nothing to do other than sit and watch TV all day. They say every morning that they plan on doing activities and games with the patients but never do. Rarely do you get the opportunity to color. If you plan on checking yourself or your child into a mental hospital, please don’t do it here. I came here with the expectation that I would be helped and there would be someone I could talk to, and I wasn’t even given proper human rights. This place needs to be investigated and shut down, as it doesn’t seem legal in the slightest. This place made me change my mind on every wanting to check myself into a mental hospital and reaching out for help again as I refuse to put myself in this situation again where I am spiraling into a mental psychosis with nothing but people who couldn’t care less about my condition around me. Find a private mental hospital where people will actually care about doing their jobs and genuinely want to help you or your child

I was in there last night, I got there at 9pm, they didn’t fully check me in until 12am, then when I said this isn’t fair and started calling everybody out they threatened to use force, strap me to a bed, and use a… needle to put me to sleep, made me sleep on the floor on a pallet, I was crying obv and they told me to cry myself to sleep?? The whole staff there are unprofessional, they are constantly rude to dying teens, and over all a bad place I can’t wait to see this place get shut down for good NOBODY go here.

My brother has been with them for the last 4-5 months. They were incredibly caring, communicative, and above all loving to my brother who has a TBI. They are really angels in real life and have had so much compassion… for us, even communicating on off hours. Special shout out to Joan and Kelly! I love you guys thank you so much for keeping my brother in good hands ❤️

They don't listen to the parents at all. They put my 15 year old son in with the Adults unit and I told them no and they still did it anyways. Unacceptable. He will never go back there again. They don't call back when… something bad happens to your child. I'm really frustrated and mad at this place. This place should be shut down. They really don't care about anyone but the money. Karma will bite them in the butt. Just let you know Eleos I was right

Traumatizing. When i was 12, a staff member (slim white woman with long, straight brown hair) asked me why I didnt just kill myself already. Mistreats, abuses, and neglects children, says they'll send them to trap… houses.

Absolutely awful establishment that proves the wider system is broken. They don’t do what they state in their mission that’s listed on the website and ultimately lets down families who truly need help with their youth.… They turn children away who are in crisis which is an absolute shame. This is why we have no hope to save these kids because of establishments like this one who claim to help but truly don’t.

Parents if you have kids in this facility get them out now! They are injected with medications to sedate them so they sleep all day. They are like zombies! There are feces on the walls, you sleep on the ground on dirty… beds, people scream all hours and you’re denied access to basic human rights. I couldn’t brush my teeth for 3 days! I asked why nobody cleaned up the feces and I was told because it would just happen again. I was there and I saw it with my own eyes. Those poor babies! Complaint has been filed! Oh let’s not forget the act they put on when they have their benefactors visit. They only take them to the small kids section so it appears happy and clean.

HORRIBLE FACILITY! This place should definitely be under investigation. The staff is horrible. They treat everyone like pieces of crap. They are very rude. Don't let you speak at all not even the parents. They're not… easy to get a hold of and when I was last there, they started injecting people and then they went missing. Something is going on at this facility and it needs to be uncovered.

As a parent I think this place should be under investigation call ten times to get anyone on the phone the staff is rude non-transparent visits can be cancelled with no notice even if it nothing to do with your kid how… are they supposed to help kids without the parents being involved meds help but it’s not the answer to everything counseling understanding and commuication with children and parents so important knowing your child’s needs so when they are home it not right back to the same thing but to put them in a crazy place and drug them until there numb I understand all cases are different and we all want our kids to be safe but are they doing it right

My fiancé was taken based off of false accusations. Continuously lied to and misled about her release date. And the staff offered no solutions. This place facilitated a legal kidnapping of my loved one and had nothing… to say other than there is only one singular individual with the power to release her. Who just so happens to be out of the office on weekends. If you want to speak to anyone in charge of the facility or that has any say in the fate of your loved one you will be met with ignorance and empty promises. They give you the runaround until you and your incarcerated loved one are infuriated and defeated. This place might have a teeny tiny chance of helping those who are in danger of self harm or harming others. (Doubtful) But god forbid you wind up here based off of false hearsay. If she wasn’t doing bad when she got brought in I can guarantee she is now. Seeing numerous people bash their faces and heads into walls until they’re spraying blood and self harming in front of her while others do nothing but scream at the top of their lungs all day long. And constantly being told she’s getting released only to have the rug pulled out from under her 3+ times. They have kept her past her 72 hour hold. And have shown nothing but empty promises and false hopes of releasing her. This place facilitates nothing that has helped her. This place is a prison.

Reading the previous reviews breaks my heart. But is also why I feel need to write our own personal review. My 13 yr old daughter was self harming and agreed willingly to go and seemed eager to get help. So while she… was in that space I called around and after calling about 15 people who said either call the cops or bring her to the hospital (neither which I wanted to do because those resources were not needed at that time) I was able to get in touch with this facility. They told me bring her down and they would help her. So I took her there Wednesday morning and she was released Sunday evening. She was able to call me a couple times each day for about 5 minutes each call. Which I believe was helpful for the both of us. The staff also called me in between to keep me up to date with what was happening and I appreciated that as well. I went to a Saturday visitation which went pretty smoothly. I think unfortunately when it comes to mental health we want our loved ones fixed right then and there and unfortunately thats not how it works. My daughter personally loved the therapist. But thought the Dr on zoom was short and not very helpful short of asking her if she felt like harming herself or others. I explained to her with the following analogy that this place was basically like if you broke your arm and they couldn’t cast it right away. They wrap it up splint it and send you somewhere that can cast it up for you. She didn’t have anything bad to say about staff because believe me I asked. Although she was saddened that she had to be there, she was happy that they were able to help her and get the process of healing on the right road. As a parent this has been the most difficult and heartbreaking experience we’ve crossed so far. And I just wanted to share part of our journey in hopes that if there are other families suffering or on the fence that they know they aren’t alone and that this place for at least a short stay wasn’t as bad for us as what the other reviews suggested. May all of us and our loved ones be well, healthy and happy…

I had my sister baker acted yesterday. Threatening to take her own life. She is in the medical field. And I explained all this to the cops. And the lady who they sent to evaluate them. So the cops and the lady deemed… her to be of harm to herself. So she goes into your place. Less than 8 hours later you release her. You have been played like a fiddle and you apparently must have not the best interest in your patients that come there. And is pray something does not happen to my sister or she takes her life. I will seek legal council. You are societies last hope and you have failed in my eyes and I have lost all faith in Pinellas county care for mental health people. Do I think you will look at this post. Nope! Sad… so sad…

I was there recently. The staff were no help when you needed it and whenever kids were being nosy or trying to annoy you, the staff always said come to us, but when you did, they didn’t really de-escalate the situation.… They just made it worse and half of the stuff that kids were doing. The staff didn’t even handle even though they were supposed to and the staff were extremely rude and treated you like you were nothing and just spend their time gossiping and when you ask them a question twice they yelled at you or if you tap your pencil if you or your friend tapped each other with pencils, even though it caused no Harm The staff fussed at you and yelled at you and treated you Like nothing for that and sometimes the staff would forget what they were doing and when you tried to remind them, they got mad at you and treated you like shit and the staff did not really put a stop to any problems that we’re going on between clients but whenever clients did something extremely small or asked a question twice or reminded a nurse they fussed at you and yelled at you and treated you like shit or threatened to lock you in seclusion for that and the bathrooms they don’t really clean it very well there was poop and pee and boogers on the wall, and there was poop and pee everywhere and the janitor did not clean it very well and the staff they’re really rude and disrespectful and they don’t even feel like helping you when you need it and the condition and that hospital were very dirty and the psychiatric doctor on Zoom, he made me stay there for more than five days even though legally he’s not supposed to do that and there were some kids that were there for like six weeks 4 to 6 weeks even though legally there’s no court order and legally, they can’t do that And whenever two clients had a fight The staff half of the time they didn’t really do anything they just sat there and just did nothing and very little. They told them stop don’t do that again but whenever something small, really really small appeared the staff screamed at you, yelled at you and threatened to not send you home and threatened to send you in seclusion the staff treated you mostly like crap and they were overly strict about the smallest stuff. I think there needs to be a lawsuit and the staff clearly did not care about helping the kids that have actual problems. They just yelled at them even more and treated them like a nuisance. And the doctor even added more milligrams to my medication, which screwed me up. And made me nauseous, a little bit. But my psychiatrist at sun coast had to reduce those milligrams to my medication, I'm glad I got out of that mental hospital that mental hospital needs to think about what they've done. And they'll even Be picky about taking sides of stories. And the therapist over there, they're no help. And they even mistreat the kids with real problems, and some of the adults that need help all they do is just yell at you. And physically subdue. And they lack the skills that are needed for kids with mental health issues. And they lack interaction this place is also in bad conditions. The bathrooms were bad and they did not clean.Half the time, and they also need to hire new staff that actually do care about people's mental health and needs

Try calling to speak with anyone- good luck. They hang up before even answering. They let your call go to to voicemail and never call back. It's as if the receptionist is just there collecting a paycheck but not doing… their job of answering the phone. If you REALLY need help, go somewhere else.

worst place to be baker acted to. The Doctors will not speak with the parents even after numerous calls to them, refused to continue the meds ordered by the psychiatrist caring for my daughter as out patient and now… won't release her due to a medical reasons that she was cleared of days earlier from a children's hospital. And giving meds against my wishes causing her to undo the good we had started to see. Her attorney has been notified
