Bradford Recovery Center – Millerton Detox and Rehab Services

Bradford Recovery Center – Millerton is recorded as offering residential treatment, partial hospitalization and sober living. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. Supported housing is recorded for people continuing treatment after a more intensive stage. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

BRADFORD RECOVERY in Millerton Pennsylvania My child did his 28 days in recovery in NY. Before going to Bradford Recovery in millerton PA. He was told by the person at Bradford recovery center it was sober living and he… can work . Well that was a lie. He is locked in here and groups all day like the last place. The sister company Pocono Mountain is the sober living where he can work. Bradford recovery councilor saying they won't transfer him to Pocono Mountain Recovery because they don't do transfers. He isn't transferring, he is needing sober living to acclimate him back to society which he needs desperately in which Pocono Mountain Recovery is the place to do that because he was sent to the wrong place. He should of been placed in Pocono Mountain Recovery in the first place. He is supposed to graduate in a week with nowhere to go. They lied saying this was sober living . They said he can go to Sober Living of America , which is a scam , not accredited with BBB. He needs to work and Poconos will give rides to and from work. Totally different lifestyle there. Why not send him there ???? Seems like no one cares after they leave. Also many reviews state they just let them leave with no ride to take them after they leave this place . Just make them leave with no transportation to next place especially since it's not the state he lives in ,therefore he will be let go to the street. Pictures of this place isn't the real place . It's dumpy. He is on his final step to learn how to live in society and work so what's the big deal sending him to Poconos to succeed as it's the right place for him???? I'm so tired of these places not following through especially since this place lied as to it's not sober living. If they dont send him to Poconos because they lied and be transported to this place it will be the worst mistake they will make. I've had it with people lying and not caring about what the patient needs. His insurance will pay and since it's their sister company, they will still be getting paid , therefore it's not a problem ! These patients are people too with families wanting them to succeed and if it were their child they would be sent to the right sober living like Pocono Mountain Recovery !!!!! They just don't care ! They get paid to get them in then use the money then send them on their way , no transportation. I've heard many bad stories from Bradford recovery making patient leave in dead of winter with no ride to next place or next sober living place . That is Unethical and will not be tolerated !!!!!!!!!! UPDATE IN 2026..... **** ******* NOTICE ALL THE RESPONSES THIS PLACE HAS TO ALL THE PATIENTS THAT HAD HORRIFIC EXPERIENCES SAYING HOW CONCERNED THEY ARE . NOT ONE PERSON THAT WROTE THE RESPONSES HAS EVER REACHED OUT TO ANY OF THE BAD REVIEWS. THEY DONT CARE . THE PLACE HAS BLACK MOLD, EVERYTHING IS BROKEN AND ITS A UNFIT PLACE TO LIVE . BED BUG INFESTATION. ******* The owner of this place has several homes in different countries that are huge and that's where the money goes instead of fixing the numerous upon numerous dangerous black mold and broken windows, broken washer and dryer , electrical fire hazards, filthy !! Should be condemned.

Bug infested and mold no heat or air conditioning in the PHP program Looks just like a trap house with running water and holes in the roof. Nuts, mention one of the female houses nearly burned down because of wiring… they talk amongst the peers is that most of us are coming from the streets, so why would they put us in good healthy conditions appears would go on the say it’s our responsibility for being where we’re at to begin with. All I would say to Bradford recovery center I understand but people shouldn’t have to add to their poison

TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE!! Shelby Lynn couldn't have described that place ANY BETTER!! It's a DUMP! Springs coming through your mattresses, Woman are put in the Old Wing of the rehab with Freezing Cold painted concrete… walls in the winter you have to lay against with old, worn out, plastic covered, torn gross pillows to sleep on! One blanket one pillow one sheet! Thin! We had NO HEAT FOR A WEEK in the woman's Hall !! When you first walk in the Men have the Main Newly designed Wing, with normal sheetrock and headboards and there OWN BATHROOMS WITH NICE BEDS!! So it looks nice when you FIRST WALK IN. !! The Women have to share 2 showers with Detoxing patients, mind you they get very very sick and CLIG THE TOILETS CONSTANTLY WITH NO PLUNGER ON HAND! Housekeeping is not always there. You have a cleaning day in which you have to clean the Bathrooms YOURSELF When it's "Your rooms turn" and the cafeteria that NEVER GETS SCRUBBED DOWN ALSO! FOOD ALWAYS SERVED LATE AND COLD WITH 15 MINS TO GET YOUR FOOD AND EAT IT OR YOU GET KICKED OUT FOR PPC TO COME IN AND EAT!! WE RAN OUT OF BREAD FOR DAYS AND THATS ALL THEY GIVE YOU IS CARBS! The staff is a bunch of young adults with clipboards just "Checking" chasing patients around to do headcount ALL DAY...but pass by and DONT intervene, when fights break out or when there is patient relationships going on between ADULTS, that have Husbands and Wives and Children at Home! And YES the Patients "Literally" RUN THE PLACE!! IT IS NOTHING LIKE IT LOOKS IN THE PICTURES ONLINE!! ITS A DUMP SITE TO MAKE MONEY OFF INSURANCE COMPANIES!! THEY FORCE YOU TO STAY OR THREATEN YOU WITH POLICE IF YOU LEAVE! They don't CARE ABOUT YOU! If they don't like you, because your not acting like a child in high school or in college dorms, and Playing around with the staff they Completely Ignore your NEEDS! You have to beg and hope! NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL!! When they hear the State is coming in to audit, they basically tell you to be on your best behavior, they pretend to be Stern! It's ALL A SHOW!! NOT A PLACE TO PUT YOURSELF IN TO RECOVER AND LEARN HOW TO BE SOBER!! A couple nice nurses and the one counselor, she knows who she is, are the ONLY "Normal" People that do there jobs there! This place...I would ONLY wish this place on my worst enemy to have to experience!!! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!

This was such a traumatic experience! I signed myself in for a detox, and in the 5 days! I was disgusted, there was a man that threw a full drink and cup at a girl's face my first night there! people were constantly… fighting with no security, it's more like a a college dorm than a. Rehab,, after 5 days I was done when I tried to make my call to set up a ride to leave, they called him and told him I was doing fine and didn't want to leave!!!!! So I knew He was going to be bringing more stuff up to drop off, I sat there crying and waiting, hoping to see his car pull up. And i had to run out the emergency exit, because they threatened me that if I left to walk out in the middle of the cold they were not gonna give me any of my belongings back! (I went in voluntarily mins you!;) The only time a staff member actually talked to me is when I was trying to leave and they were trying to act like they gave a crap in front of my bf, otherwise they just let the patients run the rehab! You could literally hear people having sex in one of the rooms, not to mention the chef that works there with his wife share my room and hang all over each other just like all the other people there! The only people that were nice were the nurses!

Worst rehab around! This rehab holds people against there will.. They also allow men to go into the womans rooms and have sex. No man should be entering a womans room and vice versa.. The counslor Jason lies to… families. Cory is very rude and disrespectful!! We had a medical emergency and they wouldn't even tell the patient until the next afteroon... They screwed up the patients meds. The paitent asked to leave because things were so out of control and they were told NO and they weren't allowed to call anyone.. They hold people hostage... Don't send a loved one there!!!!

(Please read before choosing this place) I was there from 8/1/25 to 8/20/25. I was there 20 days. The only people I wish I could give 5 stars was the twins and Paula and nurses and few BHA's and admissions. Don't get me… wrong I was very angry that you are only allowed to have water 24/7 and you have to sneak snacks to your room. They also lock the milk and juice after breakfast. I dont drink coffee so I like hot tea. But they only give out 6 sugars and 10 creamers a day and 1 tea bag a meal, they made a small exception gave me 2 at breakfast ughhh. The nurses where the best, they help they stay more welcome. Everyone has different experiences but the pictures are completely wrong they took pictures of it new and never updated. They dont give out a AA book dont work any of the 12 steps, everything is on a repeat week after week. I was set to go to half way house but my mom offered to take me to my job and do whatever was necessary to help me. So I had my wife leave messages with case manager and Trista my counselor, well for 3 or 4 days they would not relay the message and I also tried to get a second call approved even doing all my meetings like I was told to to get a second call approved and it was still denied on my birthday. I also asked Trista about leaving after 21 days being i just got coin and certificate from cove forge she said it was something that was a possibility. So I asked almost every day and it was like asking a new question everyday. I had a phone screen with a halfway house and after that was over I sneaked a call to my wife to come get me because I knew something wasnt right by the way I was being ignored. The day she found I was leaving she then played stupid and said we dont condul 21 days, which was a lie. I was great full to meet the people i met there that had a positive impact on my stay. But I would not recommend this place intill things are fixed and corrected.

Bradford recovery is just amazing. From the counselors. Medical staff. Bhas. The whole staff. The food is amazing. They care. It is clean. Beautiful scenery. I went in not knowing they were gonna change my life.. so… glad I gave them that chance. Thanks to them I am 3 years clean and will never forget the kindness and support they gave me. 7 years this February I was at the facility and it was sensational. I loved the staff and the food. You have to want recovery and if you do this is the place. I took the treatment in stride and used it for what it is… there for. You have to decide on your own to be clean and that mentality is all that you need! The facility was to help guide me and an escape for me to see my own acceptance. Thank you. To everyone become the 1 percent and never look back. Patrick Croft

I don't understand these bad reviews; I know some people are forced to be there, and are defiant(possibly coming off harder stuff), but some people left and decided to come back. There were fights but not physical. I… wasn't there very long, quick voluntary detox from alcohol; I found the staff all to be very nice; kitchen staff helped me with my immense food allergies, and gave me great food that I wasn't expecting, it was so good, and I'm a chef who makes almost everything from scratch. The nurses were awesome... I can't speak for others, but some disgruntled people had reasonable criticisms, and when people are detoxing, maybe sometimes, their negative attitudes require more patience and compassion. I was happy to be helped. The only reason I didn't give 5 star is because maybe cuz I was appreciative for being helped; recovering people may need, like I said, more patience, and also, I "needed" a doctor's note to go back to work; after a week of calling multiple times, and never receiving as promised, my boss brought me back on a technicality. I also was 'referred" to outside resources; I haven't received any; I received a 3rd party call, but nothing has got done. Either way, from residents I talked to, this is the best facility around, many left, and told me it was due to their addiction, and then tried other places and chose to come back to this one. It is not bad to stay there, and they give you free cigarettes, which may be questionable, and I had quit smoking, but smoked a ton. They let detox do that, but residence has scheduled smoke breaks and way more rules and requirements. It took a few days but I'm down to barely smoking. I think free cigs is good, even though it's bad for you and addictive, it actually acts as group therapy, from my own experience, and if you're coming off something, nicotine my be addictive, but doesn't require detox, and just like with a variety of meds they use to treat detox/withdrawals, it is kind of a comfort med. Either way, I thought this place was great; they definitely rely on a lot of funding, some personal, and I only stayed 5 days, my financial assistance would have paid for 7 if the nurse thought it was dire, but they weren't gonna cover programs, and I felt detoxed.

This is the worst rehab ever! People were fist fighting the Staff was more worried about Fraternization. Mind you there is absolutely nothing to do. The pictures aren’t even pictures of the place . They are of one of a… sister facilities. The meetings were Repetitive and bland. The food was a joke and the coffee was like water. No milk or juice only at breakfast. Just watered down coffee and water for the rest of the day. The Nurses are the real MVPs !!!! They were amazing that’s why I gave it 1 star. Please don’t send a loved one there. It’s a step up from jail. That’s it

Horrible place would not recommend to anyone! I’m not from the area and they left me stranded outside in the freezing cold for 8H with no means of trying to help me with either staying or reasonable mean to a bus… station or services that I could use to leave this place the only thing they did do was come out and tell me that they are calling the police if I didn’t remove myself or my things off their property after being AD’d which they also tried to switch up and claim that I was going AMA so they weren’t liable to transport. ive seen similar happen to other clients and they were provided a ride to the nearest bus station in my case they left me with no means of help what so ever they didn’t even attempt to talk me into staying! They also tried to keep some of my property which I informed them that I wasn’t leaving until I received. All n all This resulted in an 8H wait in the freezing cold as well as a 300$ uber ride that was nearly impossible to book. Overall this place is terrible and I would highly advise that you’d keep yourself or your loved one’s away from this place especially if you are not from the area.

I have been calling Bradford recovery center since Friday July 5th, 2024 and they denied me admission for "pseudo seizures". When I explained to the people on the phone that I've only had one seizure and that it was… drug induced they still denied me. That their medical team was not medically equipped to handle that. Does this make any sense to you? Ive had one seizure back in 2017 and because of that I can't get the help I need. The woman on the phone was extremely rude. I highly recommend if you're trying to get help and to stay sober, Do not call Bradford

It’s a nice place to be some of the staff generally care about you some OK case managers great food but when I was there October 11 till October 31 of 2023 I was in detox for roughly a week when I got out of detox there… was infestation of bedbugs, which they try to keep on the low for letting us know while people were getting bit up did not take care of it. We needed to keep lying to us, and saying there was no bedbugs when clearly there was. After two weeks of them lying to me I finally got fed up and told him I wanted to leave in which they told me I had to AMA. And find my own ride kicked me out which I had to forcefully grab my phone, and would not give me my clothes and my cologne and toothbrush and soap that I brought also a brand new hundred dollar beard trim and set $175 cologne in which they said that they were keeping all my stuff on me I do not recommend this place. They are disrespectful and don’t give a you and just want your insurance money I signed up for a three week program in which they try to keep me for two months they kick me out. I had to walk three hours from a family member, and which I lived in Schenectady New York, which is roughly a four hour Dr.

An absolutely pathetic excuse for a "Recovery Center." Having visited Bradford, I can confidently say any person in search of sobriety should avoid this place as if it were the plague. Understandably, these reviews are… often to be taken with a grain of salt as they're written by spurned addicts, (Not judging, I myself was one) But, I want to clarify, this isn't that. This is a public service announcement to anyone considering jumping into the wonderful journey of recovery. My brief stay at Bradford was highlighted by a patient distributing weed, which led to a revolt of sorts when they told him he must go. They let him stay... at that point I should've known how terribly ran this place was. Perhaps I would've if I was medicated properly in their "medical detox." I used parenthesis because those detoxing are welcome to fraternize freely without supervision in the general recovery areas without any real rules or direction. If you felt "up to it" you were welcome to do as you pleased. Fast forward a day or so, and as a result of not being properly medicated I was absolutely out of my mind and body when I was forced to sign away my rights basically. Suddenly, my detox only stay became a 30 day inpatient rehab, all while I was not of sound mind or body. Mind you, when I checked in for detox, I had signed a release for the wonderful place I wound up eventually - Thank God - ... However, in this delirious state, they tried convincing me that I wasn't ever going to said rehab, and that I were to stay there. When I tried to AMA, sensing this was a grave difference in what I had planned... They refused to give me my phone, make a call to family, and they let me wander MILES down the road -- WHILE DETOXING FROM ALCOHOL -- TWICE! When I finally found someone, I had to call that State Police in order to get my phone back, which they claimed was now "their property." They had enough of me, so they offered to throw my stuff in garbage bags and leave it out front... But, they kept what they liked! (2 pairs of expensive sunglasses, etc.) The quality of care was nearly as pathetic as their exit strategy for someone who questions their bogus ways. Eventually, I detoxed and went to rehab at a normal, great place. So having compared the two... I cannot stress enough how horrible a place this is for recovery. If you're looking for help, good for you... KEEP LOOKING, this place borders on criminally negligent.

Literally a hostage situation. No towels so I got to clean my own pile up with a few napkins. Couldn't shower. If ored and every concern and question is passed off because it's someone else's issue meaning it's no one's… because they don't care. And they lost about $300 of my things (took them for themselves I'm sure) Including my house keys!? Gaslit me into staying another day with false promises and no follow through. The 10 mile walk, random man who picked me up when I hitch hiked and night at the homeless shelter when I walked out was better than my time there. Staff has favorites and everyone is treated like they're little children. Just because we suffer with addiction doesn't make us any lesser of a person thank you very much.

This place was home to me for 2 months, it was tough in the beginning but I am so glad I went there and got the help I needed. They could Offer more snacks and definitely more beverages throughout the day. They need to… reevaluate some of the nurses there, some are just down right nasty and you can tell they don’t enjoy their job. They do have one amazing nurse that works the night shift Kristy she is so compassionate and caring and goes above and beyond for everyone! Every time She was on everyone would say the good nurse is on I will never forget her. She is a true gem! Thank you!

My counselor here was amazing , Deb and my case manager, Trixie. They advocated for me and made me feel as though they truly cared and understood me. Deb worked with me in so many ways to make sure I was able to handle… what I needed to back at home. Most of the staff was nice, but some had obvious favorites and did not treat everyone with respect. Same with the nurses. Some were phenomenal and others acted like you were bothering them if you asked for anything. And same with the kitchen staff. Some were very friendly and accommodating while others were just plain rude. The director of the facility and most of the other counselors there were also super nice, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Their groups were very informative. But when staff ran groups they were typically just silly games or arts and crafts over and over and if you didn’t attend these groups would get written up. I found them to be quite irritating and elementary. I agree with the previous statement of them not holding most of the residents accountable for their actions and allowing people to stay who were just plain trouble, distracting, and clearly there for the wrong reasons. I also was placed in a room that had no bathroom, so I had to share a bathroom with those detoxing (which was very gross and often hard to get into to shower). I also didn’t have a box spring or headboard like all the other rooms. Just a mattress on a metal frame. It seemed to me that most of the days here were pretty unorganized. We often didn’t have spoons or forks to eat with. Also I called before coming to ask some questions and whoever I talked to gave me a lot of wrong information. They do not have phones on the floor, though I was told they did. You only get 2 10-15 minute calls a week. Also your days in detox do not count towards your 28 days, when I first called I was told since I didn’t need to detox I would only have to stay 14-21 days which was not the case. There’s a lot of potential and great people here but there’s also a lot of improvement needed for me to ever consider this place a 5 star rehab. I previously went to Marworth in 2017 and it was an amazing experience , they were clean and friendly and professional. They are a 5 star rehab. I’d recommend checking them out first. Also for the prices they’re charging your insurance they should be able to offer a lot more than what they do.

The best rehab I've EVER been to. The food was amazing and they did huge homemade holiday dinners for us. This place is the reason I've made it 18 months clean today. I'm so freaking grateful!
