Central Texas VA Healthcare – Austin Detox and Rehab Services
What Central Texas VA Healthcare – Austin offers, on record, is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.
Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Central Texas VA Healthcare – Austin Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 7901 Metropolis Drive in Austin, Texas, 78744. Austin sits in Travis County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

A price list for Central Texas VA Healthcare could not be found at the time of writing, so those state costs are an estimate.

I have visited several VA hospitals and clinics across the country and state of Texas. In my opinion this is the flagship facility of Texas and would be hard pressed to find another VA that has all the resources and… facilities this one does. Easy to find, easy to park, well staffed. 10/10 recommend
Glad to have it in our area. Yes it's a drive from Leander but it could be worse.
Great place if you are a veteran! The staff is courteous and helpful. If you use VA you will have go9d experience here.
Great staff and care
Good
Highly professional staff and in-house food catine!
This is a super nice VA facility. I've relocated from Indiana to Austin and they have taken such good care of me since I've been here. They got me right in when I needed to get medicines that I was out of. They let me… see a doctor when I needed to. They even help me get paperwork together for the state of Texas that's required for me for being handicapped. It's a wonderful VA clinic. I highly recommend it to any vet and the people. There are absolutely wonderful. I would like to add that this Austin VA clinic has so many handicap parking spaces available for us veterans. I have never seen so many handicap parking spaces at a VA clinic or hospital in my life and I've been to several. The Austin VA clinic must have over 100 or around that many. I can always find a close parking spot when I go there. This is an excellent facility. It's top notch. It's very clean. It's very orderly and there are security staff there the whole time. They are open and they are wonderful people too. They always speak and welcome you. They are just a bunch of great guys and gals everybody that works at the pharmacy and the help desk and the clinic. Walk-in clinic that is are just wonderful doctors and nurses and helpers. I cannot say enough good things about this VA. I am so grateful and thankful that I have this VA to go to for my health needs. I highly extremely recommend this VA to all veterans just passing through or living here in Austin area. It is a wonderful VA. I am very thankful for them. Sincerely, Joseph E. Hall
Awful primary care. They get defensive if you're there with your vet because they prefer to just take advantage of people.
Pibb rules
I always have a pleasant appointments when I go there
The VA takes great care of me there.
Idk why the reviews are low. This place is much cleaner and newer than Temple, and I’ve always had success with most of the doctors and prescriptions being mailed. Xray and walk-in appts are pretty quick, glasses shop… isn’t bad, dental is good. Only complaint is my pcp.
Great people, all of them.
Helpful folks, EZ park, canteen.... The size of a postage stamp. It's all good 👍. You made it back !
I was seen by Nurse Practitioner Okwuchukwu Mike Okpalaeza during a mental health emergency. During that visit, I felt laughed at, humiliated, and belittled at a time when I was seeking help in crisis. I reported my… experience and concerns about this provider to the mental health department supervisor, Dr. Dooley. I sincerely hope appropriate action was taken so that no other veteran has to experience this kind of treatment while seeking mental health care during a crisis.
Great so far ,admin is usual terrible but veterans know this
I have coming to this clinic since 2007. I have always been treated very well. The team Desk A, Dr. Saddler and her team are Aces. Eye exams, to community care. Referral for Hip surgery to out standing Dr. Pate at BSAW.… Love my new hip. Tom Ravizza US Army Retired.
Very slow and unorganized

Amazing staff!!! The physicians the nurses all had my husbands best interest at heart ♥️ praying nurses praying doctors and their focus on the quality care of the patient. I am so proud of them all. I want to thank the following nurses and in no particular order: 3K Stephanie 3J Mike, Erin, Debbie, Chloral, Tocarra, Karen (Carebear) Larry, Myra, Rick, Andrew, Kevin, Alyson!! You all have been amazing not only to my Husband Alex but to me as well. Though the outcome is heartbreaking, having you by my side encouraging me, supporting us you definitely are fulfilling your calling. As we transition over to the CLC just know none of you went unnoticed! May God Bless You Always!
