About Bridgewell Counseling Services – Lowell

Bridgewell Counseling Services is at 35 Market Street in Lowell. Lawrence is 8.4 miles away and Andover 8.5. People travelling from Lawrence, Andover, Pinehurst and Wilmington are all inside 9 miles. Lowell sits in Middlesex County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

Care offered spans intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Federal registration is held through SAMHSA and licensing through the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Approved medication runs alongside counseling, which is what medication-assisted treatment means in practice. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Some contact can happen by video rather than in person. The facility provides trauma-specific treatment.

June 18 2026 I Love this place !! My therapist Rex is cut from a different cloth. He listens to me thoughtfully and suggests different strategies and coping techniques for my mental health which helps me spiritually and… physically. No problem with appointments and very flexible schedule where we do not miss a beat with my treatment. Always looking forward to our small group but very powerful ! I highly appreciate Bridgewell I would not go somewhere else. I don’t understand how Bridgewell Counseling Services gets bad reviews. I have the upmost respect for them. I can not begin to explain how much I went from bad to good . COVID 2020 I began at Bridgewell and had an exit interview thinking I was capable.I insisted going back after I had a 2nd mental relapse due to osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia’s chronic pain the central sensitivities came crashing worse than ever .A Special Shout out and Thank you to my friend and therapist Rex . You have been my wings I appreciate you !

I went to Bridgewell Counseling for 6 years .... Covid hit - We all went to phone counseling - That was fine until my Counselor said she was taking a better job elsewhere .... I was put on a waiting list I remained on… that waiting list for 1 year and 2 months before Bridgewell even called Me 😡 I called them at least 3 times in that 1.2 years -- each time seeking a Counselor / Help .... I was just told I'm on waiting list and it will be a few months They finally called !! They offered me an "Intern" I expressed that I need more specified help than just an Intern 🙏 The young lady on the phone was very compassionate -- She asked me to leave a voice message for the boss lady So I did that -- I asked for a call back .... What I got: Nothing .... Nothing to this day We are nothing to Bridgewell After 6 years of faithful counseling (and insurance money of course) Just nothing .... Beyond wow I hope this horrible place is out of business They failed me miserably - When I needed them alot Have a Great Day -- A Great Life ✌️ We are stronger than we realize 💪

Deborah Booth is absolutely horrible, said she doesn't care about my opinion on meds and if I don't like it too bad , she also says things that are medically inaccurate , she said I could treat my condition by drinking… milk with honey

OMG. My daughter has been calling since Monday to have her blood work entered in a government database in order to have her perscription filled. She has called 10 times and I have called once. Absolutely no response… form Bridgewell or Debra Booth, to get her medication. This is the third time she has had to experience withdrawals. This lack of response is totally not what people experiencing mental illness should have to deal with. Why isn't this office run like a Drs. Office? A person answering the phone sure would be a step up.

★☆☆☆☆
Yamilex Santiago2 years ago

Debra Booth should not be a psychiatrist. All the negative reviews are true. You’re working with mental health patients, in case you forgot. They make it a big deal, complicated and difficult to refill medication… not… the narcotics kind either. The kind that helps people Tourette's symptoms like my sister. They cant just skip and go without…. Yes withdrawals make sense if you only prescribed until April…? How do you tell a patient you don't care???? Please quit :)

It used to be a good place . It has gone downhill for the last few years ..Staff don't stay there long and leave their patients in hiatus. They discharge you for no reason and then make you an appointment. They have no… clue what they are doing . Live people don't pick up the phone , you will have to leave a message every time and wait til 2 days later when they might call you back .Very unprofessional.

Edit there latest game is canceling people's apps without notice and when told you will run out of medication there response is that's too bad call your primary care it's not our problem!!! This place is disgraceful Np… take people off life sustaining medications without notifying or informing the patient , plunging you.into devastating withdrawals that threaten your physical and mental health , if you want to lose all stability and become sicker this is the place to be !

My therapist illegally broke his confidentiality agreement and then this place refused to investigate and then dropped me as a customer. This is a CRIMINAL MATTER!

If I could give negative stars, I would. My mom has been going here for over 8 years, she has had over 6 med doctors because they continue to quit/get fired/whatever. This is leading to her not being allowed to get… prescriptions filled on time because the new provider (and I quote) "Doesn't feel comfortable refilling a script without meeting with her first." It's a REFILL, as in she is ALREADY ON THE MEDICATION. So after being told "nothing would change" after her most current doctor left, now she has to wait until a new med doctor is available to meet with her??? This is MENTAL HEALTH. People can't just SKIP MEDS! This facility is NEGLIGENT. DO NOT go here.

If you need a med provider for your mental health, I do NOT recommend this practice. Specifically the Amesbury, MA location. My doctor went on vacation for a week and the office refused to have my prescription refilled.… I went over a week without my meds so I decided to just go off of them completely. I called multiple times with no call back from any staff. The office staff is extremely unorganized. They have called me for paperwork several times that has been sent to them (even with a confirmation of receipt). Don’t waste your time and find a different practice.

When I have been on a medication for almost a yr and the doctor changed my meds without me knowing and I've been out of my meds for 8 days now and they can't fill it til the 29th the doctor had no right to change my… meds without me knowing

This place has gone downhill fast. They have a really hard time keeping therapists, med. providers don't look at notes in the computer and directors are clueless. Front desk doesn't do their job properly. Unfortunately,… they call you a "customer" instead of a "client". Don't bother with them.

I have been utilizing Bridgewell's counseling services for over 7 years , I am very satisfied with them. Due to a high demand job, trying to find a day a week for therapy was very hard, but my Clinician there worked… with me to find the right day/time that works for both of us. The clinicians here are very informed, educated and empathic with their approaches for therapy. The Psych Docs/PNPs are also very understanding and welcome the client into trying new approaches to benefit their treatment. All in all I would defiantly recommend this place to others :)

I wish I could them 0 stars! I have never been to a doctors office that is so unprofessional, unorganized and rude! When you call to schedule any type of appointment you have to ALWAYS leave a message because no one… EVER answers the phone and if you leave a message they don't respond to you for 2 weeks or longer! If they decide to answer the phone and you so happen to speak to a live person (never happens!) they put you on hold for more than 10 mins which is extremely frustrating. I've had nothing but problems with Bridgewell!! All the providers I've seen there always leave. I've been through 4 different people since I've been a patient there and that has been for over 5 yrs now. Julie Cunningham refused to see me because I refused lab work and asked to speak with her 1st before doing so. Had an 8am appointment wasn't wasn't called back for lab work until 8:18 just to be told she wont see me without that lab work! Have never been asked for lab work the whole entire time I have been a patient here and when I ask to speak to her regarding why I needed to do it she wouldn't even give me the courtesy to even ask my questions! I will never come here again!! I suggest you find any other place to go to besides here. You will die before they even get back to you!! Avoid at ALL cost.

I love going to Bridgewell because the staff are really friendly and flexible. I have had a bad experience the first time with a therapist but overall the rest of the staff are friendly. I see my therapist once a week.… I also see a couples therapist once a month. I really liked the support they give and advice they give you. They try their best to do the right thing for you.
