About Lutheran Family Services – Omaha

Lutheran Family Services operates from 7929 West Center Road in Omaha. The site sits in Douglas County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Chalco, La Vista and Ralston. Nebraska draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Lutheran Family Services

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Naltrexone is available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Lutheran Family Services Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 7929 West Center Road, Omaha, NE 68124, in Douglas County. The catchment reaches Chalco, La Vista and Ralston. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Good place for iop, but extremely difficult to get ahold of. When you try to call they don’t list this location as one you can contact. Plus was on hold for over 20 minutes before even being able to speak with someone.… Absolutely rediclous!!

My gf went there for 1 visit for an intake. They told her ahead of the appt she had to pay up front. She did & she paid with cash. Now they are saying that she didn’t pay & they billed her for $31. It’s not about the… money. They wouldn’t have seen her if she didn’t pay up front. It’s about the principle that someone may have stolen the money. Do better.

The amount of unprofessionalism is baffling. Worst help I've ever received from a mental help facility. Currently changing providers. Do not waste your time here. They treat you like a number not a person and always… miss filling your meds.

Utterly worthless. They are SLOW and UNORGANIZED. You might as well just stand on the street and ask strangers than ask tgese clowns for any help. One thing I can say about Catholic services is they make all the others… look like complete trash. This organization is pathetic.

I've been a client here for a decade, miss one appointment (my old provider no longer works there)and now they say I'm a "new client" and they arent accepting new clients! I can't get a appointment with a new provider… till July way to go helping people with mental health issues

I had a Case worker from LFS in name of shafiq he was racist he was helping just for pashton people from Afghanistan. When I signed the documents for him. After that he doesn't answer to my phone. And he said I am not… anymore your case worker. Either LFS told to us we gonna help you up to 5 years and your case will be for 5 years with us. I hope LFS to change thier case workers. For good services try to get new people. Thank you very much.

For Therapy this place has been great! I have worked with three different therapists here and all have been professional and educated on what my needs were for each one. I am currently at the tail end of treatment that… has been going for 5 years or so now. Highly recommend. Therapy here is great.

The worst company if you actually want help! I’ve been with this company for 4 years! And In order for me to switch therapists I was required to write a letter to be reviewed, which they made extremely complicated and… didn’t offer any help at all. My therapist I had at the time would FALL ASLEEP during our zoom sessions. So then after finally being aloud to switch therapists, I thought things would get better. My therapist had very rigid beliefs about my life and pushed them on to me. As well as every time she would say I will email you, call you, assign home work etc, it would never happen. Her phone number goes to someone else’s voicemail which I have told her multiple times about and it was never switched. Recently a family member passed away due to the worst circumstances and I fell out of therapy. My therapist NEVER contacted me regarding this let alone checked it on me to see if I was even alive!! For over 8 weeks she never contacted me. Which made me not even want to receive services from this company even more. You’re just another number and just another bill to insurance at this place there is no genuine care! I call a few days ago trying to give it another chance for them to tell me I can’t receive services again until February of 2024! Due to a stupid contract I signed that was never explained to me when I signed it regarding staying in therapy. Individuals with mental health issues have a hard time being in structured environments, therapists jobs are to help clients stay in therapy and get the help they need. This entire organization has let me down MULTIPLE times and I’d rather d** then ever go to this place for help again!!

Trying to talk to somebody at the building next door, called this one by accident, the guy who answered could not have been more rude, would not help me to tell me which one I needed to call and hung up on me.

They treated me like a criminal threatening to make me take drug tests because I refused a drug eval because I had one recently done. I was getting services to better myself on my own free will and they wanted to treat… me like a criminal. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!

Smart Gen Society is amazing! I teach undergraduate, pre-health students and Amie comes in and presents on professionalism and social media awareness. Her presentation has consistently been a favorite with my students.… She is a dynamic presenter and provides relevant, thought-provoking information that my students find extremely valuable.

Avoid going here if you need a substance abuse evaluation, DO NOT GO if they pair you with Virgin for your evaluation.

The nurse practitioner here might as well have no education because she knows nothing about her job! Claiming you can’t switch doctors but you have every right to switch doctors if you don’t like the doctor you are… seeing because that doctor you see wants to stop your medication without properly weaning you off of it after 5 years of taking that medication because they don’t care about your mental health and don’t want to pay attention to what you need to get better.
