Meta Addiction Treatment – Haverhill Reviews and Ratings

I started at Meta at the beginning of February while dealing with a mental health crisis. From my pre-screen with Erlene in admissions and my intake with Lauren, my clinician, I could already tell that Meta was a place… I would feel very comfortable. After starting treatment with the mentality of only staying for two weeks, I wound up graduating after four and a half months with an entirely new perspective on life. Having the opportunity to do EMDR with April, the trauma specialist, really set this program apart from others. Nicole, the NP, was able to help me find a med that actually worked for me and point me in the direction of a more accurate psych diagnosis. I cannot say enough good things about the other staff during my time at Meta; clinicians Marlena, Margo, and Christina, case managers Anne and Meg, and program directors Lindsey and Sesse all had different approaches to working with clients, but each staff member's personal touch just made the experience feel more accessible and individualized. There were several staff changes that took place during my time, but I felt they were all handled with professionalism and grace. A typical week would include lots of DBT and CBT, art therapy, yoga, weekly planning/reflections, book club, and my favorite, journaling. We would also have some more lighthearted activities on Fridays for "fun in recovery". We would typically meet one on one with our clinicians once a week, but they would consistently make time for an extra session if I was struggling or needed additional support. I was not originally seeking an all women's program, but I believe this was the key to getting as much out of Meta as I did. The women in that building, staff and clients alike, supported and uplifted every person who came through that door in a way that I have never seen or experienced before. I walked into Meta with very low self-worth and trauma that has held me back for decades in ways I never would have known, and I walked out with a sense of self that has freed me from so much anxiety and fear of not being enough. Receiving treatment at Meta changed my life in so many ways. If you are considering receiving mental health or addiction treatment, I urge you to reach out to Meta and start your recovery/healing journey, you won't regret it.
I began at Meta during a difficult period of my life that I was transitioning from. I was looking into EMDR therapy and heard wonderous things. The only therapist that my insurance at the time of my unemployment would… cover is an in patient mental health program ; META. As I was not an addict, I was unsure if this program would help me but I decided to go through it to receive EMDR therapy. I wanted to do this to address some trauma that’s been preventing me from being successful in the workplace. I think there are two things I have walked away from. One the sense of care, empathy and compassion oozing from the coordinators are so present, I can see how the change that this center makes in many people’s lives including my own. ( A woman named Anne bakes and makes cookies for the girls.) I’ve learned that mental health and addiction coincide, and it’s addressing the trauma that allows people to become more successful in their journeys. The second is the EMDR therapy I received from April. She’s available once a week. I have had two sessions with her and in those sessions I have worked through so much in such a short amount of time. Things I know that years of DBT / CBTTherapy hasn’t been able to fully address, EMDR has and will. The trauma I faced, I could feel it lifting from my body. I would recommend it. I’ll come back with a further update in a couple of weeks to show the progress. Grateful for this place.
if i was writing this review months ago it would have been 10 stars if i could, but let me just say I am shocked. ya'll got rid of Lindsey? I have been a client at Meta 3 times. First time was in North Reading and I… didnt like it, I left. It felt like every other treatment center out there and to be honest no one learns with powerpoints. Anyway I relapsed, needed help and a friend of mine told me to go to Meta Haverhill, because they were above and beyond all of their other sites, and you know what they were right. And why? Lindsey. She created a space where everyone felt safe, welcome, taken care of, supported, loved, and treated like a human. You cant teach the way she treated her clients. I called her one night at about 11 frantic, a whole hand full of pills in my hand (she didnt know at the time) but within 10 minutes I had flushed them. And why did I call her? because she always told us PLEASE REACH OUTTTT I MEAN IT! and she did mean it. She cared, she didnt judge, she listened, she took the time to understand. the amount of clients that called her, reached out to her, depended on her and she always answered, no matter the day the time. We all talked about how wonderful she was as a WHOLE....And shes a single mom, who still never left us worrying... who does that? She did. we told her ONCE we didnt feel included at the other alumni events, so you know what she made us our own, and it was AMAZING the amount of people she has helped and taken care of.... and now what? I have a friend who is currently a client there, she said one day lindsey was there, the next she wasnt without even a single explanation from management. She also said the entire environment has changed, and it is nothing like it was. So if you wanted another basic run of the mill treatment center that doesnt stand out, and doesnt get repeat clients, then good job you accomplished that. you took a beautiful center that those women created ( lindsey being the only constant) and you destroyed it. its a shame. go somewhere else people. its ruined!
Meta treatment center Haverhill location was an amazing experience that lead me to sustain a sober lifestyle . All the staff was amazing including all of the case managers and therapists
I loved the program. these women (and danny) are INCREDIBLE. never felt this way about any program before. taking away 2 stars because that tall bald guy who is their boss is horrible to these women the way he talked to… them was well YIKES- should be ashamed because they are the best around and it seems like they dont appreciate hard workers. oh well I would still reccomend this place a million times over for these women alone.
I wouldn’t have gotten sober without those women. Truly. They make you feel heard from the second you meet the PD to your very last session with your clinician. Wish there were more stars to give
I owe so much to Meta! If I came out of rehab and didn’t have them I would have failed but I’m 14+ months sober as I write this and what I learned at Meta is a big reason why. The staff are amazing and the programs are… so helpful. Thank you, Meta!
I love this place and the amazing women (& Danny) who run it. They help you in so many aspects of your life and are your #1 cheerleaders. They are so genuine and really care, and it shows. You learn DBT and CBT skills,… there's yoga, pet therapy, art classes, meditation, etc. I wasnt interested in going to after care after rehab at all and I am so glad I did. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs the support. They offer PHP and IOP in person or on zoom and even do night sessions for people who cant make it in the mornings. Thank you ladies for everything that you do!:)
This place saved my life, it gave me a routine. it gave me my life back. i would recommend this place to everyone who is struggling. it is a small intimate setting with amazing staff who is in recovery and are… completely supportive, dedicated, and personable. i love this place. i wouldn’t be clean with out them. they also have therapy dogs which are they most loving and friendly dogs. i am a responsible woman of honor and grace today and meta is a huge part of my life.
I had an addiction for 6 years. It started off have a couple here and there and then it turned into everyday. When I tried to stop I realized I had a problem. My addiction got worse overtime. I started to pull myself… away from the people that I had in my life. I started to take advantage of people. I started lying a lot to my husband, my family, my children, and especially to myself. I was able to stop for my pregnancy with my fourth child. But almost immediately after giving birth I went back into active addiction. August of last year was really tough, my brother saw me tweaking out while I was high on the ring camera. So it did start to come out a little bit. I was able to keep it a secret for about another month until my husband walked in on me doing it. He told me that if I didn't get help then he was taking the kids and leaving. In that moment I realized just how close I am to losing everything that I love. These drugs don't love me, my family does and they have stuck by me through everything. A big reason why I kept it secret for so long was because I was in fear that if I told my husband I had a drug problem then he would just leave me and take the kids. But instead he wanted to help me and he wanted to see me get help. That is when I got put into connection with meta. The first person that I spoke to was casey. The way he spoke to me made me feel so welcome and so belonged and it made me feel like this is exactly where I need to be. He related to me, he told me his story and about his recovery. He didn't shame me and make me feel like what I was going through was all my fault. I was nervous to start but Casey gave me that boost. The first person that I met was christina. She came off a little loud and outgoing for sure LOL but with every group she did and the more I listened to her, it was as if every topic she did, applied directly to my life. I've learned so many useful tools that I use everyday. Then I met Owen. His voice alone captivates you into paying attention and really hearing what he's saying. He focuses on the higher power and he is definitely a strong role model in the group. Next was Lindsey, she was sweet and quiet. She made an outside connection with me personally. I always feel like I can be so open and honest with her about everything. Then came Katie. She's bubbly and loving. She focuses on how we can each learn more about ourselves and makes us realize what type of people we are. It helps in recovery to know yourself, your triggers, your emotions. And every group helps no matter who is running it. Finally I met Lexie, who is super sweet! She teaches about nutrition, which again is so helpful in recovery. The counselors at this facility are not here just to do their job. They are here to listen, they are here to give you advice, they are here to help you succeed, they are here to give you the tools and the knowledge to maintain your sobriety. And for every step that you take that makes you feel proud of yourself, just know that there is a whole team of counselors rooting for you and are twice as proud of you as you are of yourself! It turns into so much more than an outpatient care program. It really truly does turn into a family. A support system. A lifelong tool on how to maintain your sobriety. I have 3 months sober as of tomorrow and I am never turning back. I love my life now. I love remembering things, making memories with my children, being present in their lives, keeping my promises, that people are starting to trust me again, how much my relationship with my family has strengthened, how my marriage has strengthened, the list could go on. My life is more stable, I am less agitated, I am more loved, I have more love to give, I'm in a better place. And none of that would have been possible without meta. They saved my life, they saved my kids from growing up without a mother and my husband from having to bury his wife. And I could not be more grateful for them! If you are even considering treatment and there is anything holding you back, just give them a call and talk to someone.
I'm a Meta Haverhill Mass graduate and I must say this program has helped me to get to know more about my addiction, how to deal and cope with it. The facilitators are the most well informed down to earth caring, loving… people I have ever met, they gave me the necessary tools needed to continually fight this disease. Recovery is possible and Meta ( Haverhill, Mass ) can help!!!!
This place SAVED my life. The staff are compassionate and really wanted me to get clean because they know what it's like to fight addiction as well. I am 341 days sober and I really owe it to them for being there for me… with love and knowledge to help me fight for my life. Thank you to the staff. I owe them my life 💪🏾 🙏🏽
The staff is excellent and groups are amazing. I learn and feel something new every single day. The staff is exemplary and goes out of their way to help people. I am so grateful for this program.
Meta addiction treatment is the most welcoming, non judgmental, life saving intensive outpatient therapy you will find. From the second you walk through the doors they are there to help you, their guidance, support, and… absolute genuine care helps increase your chances of success. Owen, Christina, Katie and Lindsey are the most amazing humans, I owe them my life.
The staff here and the program it’s self set me up for success in my recovery and I am thankful for this program and the staff that work there for all they have done for me. Would recommend this place to anyone looking… for help if they are struggling
The kindness from the staff and understanding is unmatched. I wouldn't have had such success in recovery without their help. Owen, Christina and Katie are so supportive! I have graduated their program and will be a year… sober in January. Not only do they help you understand all aspects of addiction, they also help you understand your own personal journey transitioning into a healthy lifestyle without substance use. I am forever grateful and I honestly can say they helped save my life. THEY LISTEN AND UNDERSTAND AND EVEN MORE SO CARE ABOUT YOU! I LOVE THEM!
