I think what their doing at ramey is truly amazing ! There's nothing bad I can say about anything except when high patient count. people forced to be ther causing issues an arguments . Others the that. They really do… care about everyone separately an I give thanks to ramey estep . Thank you
Can someone please explain why? I have called 3 days in a row now several times leaving messages and still can't get a call back.. I picked up all my personal property from the facility 3 days ago and my brand new phone… that I didn't even have for 2 days before entering rehab I was told would be in my property when they took it from me. And there is not a phone in my property I have the phone information and the serial number so I don't understand why they can't just return my calls so that we can figure out and pinpoint and locate where my phone is. it's on my dad's AT&t account and at this point I'm trying to keep him not calm and not get involved. but since no one wants to return my calls I've had no choice but to resort to this
I am not sure about what exactly Ramey-Estep is about now. I graduated in 2011 these reviews are sad to read that all these people never got the benefits that I did. It's most definitely one of the hardest things I've… ever done the mowing acres, the "telling past trauma to your peers", sitting on the floor all of that is true but given out of context. It's extremely difficult and it's not fun at all we weren't even allowed to smile. All that being said that experience changed my life it taught me accountability I was able to get my GED as well as graduate high school with honors and it was the best thing that's ever happened to me. They don't give you a choice you have to get with the program and if you don't I guess you end up being grown and complaining about the trauma and I'm sure they're still blaming everyone for their issues. I just wanted to leave a positive review that is honest. It's hard it sucks and if you get through it you'll be better for it.
I was in Sigma and Omega. We were not allowed to talk. They cut our shower/changing/hygiene time in bathroom to 3 minutes... when police came to investigate about potential medical care neglect, they threatened us not… to say anything to them. We mowed acres upon acres we also did PT. We had jobs and work, we cleaned the schools, our own clothes, infirmary, everything... we paid for our own camos. They made me drink a gallon of water before I got to the hospital to get a routine checkup for state down back roads i puked it up and got in trouble. They would threaten they could hold you until you turn 21, most of the staff said this. I was never in an restraint, but many have been in restraints and its a chemical injection... some staff seemed to look forward to physical restraints. I have nightmares still about wanting, needing to escape. I could go on and on. This place was full of abuse and neglect, especially to the girls "meets". Only good thing about this place was Mr. T. Ross, and me being able to graduate at 16 (school system). I learned to sew, and took woodshop. I read so many books since we werent allowed to speak. Thanks for taking the time to read... this was around 2013.
I would give no start if I could this place is a joke my kids mother got sent there for a drug involved CPS case was there for a month the whole time she was doing whatever she wanted to she called me from there phone… they let them use telling me how someone in there got caught with drugs a few days ago I know for a fact she was in there using the drugs that was found she would call me be normal then snap on me for nothing like she did while she was using it got to the point where I called and talked to someone about it and they said they would talk to her well that didn't work I called every time she would call and harass me when she left the place she got ahold of me and told me they told her I called she came to my house I got her phone and went through it and found naked pics of her that she took in the bathroom while there also found pics of her in a field with a blanket and a few other people in the pics I asked her about it and she admitted that they would allow her to go into that field without staff being around I asked her about the drug situation she told me yeah and I got searched I said how they search you she said just made me empty out my pockets and patted me down real quick this place is a joke and needs shut down the males and females have easy unsupervised access to each other and drugs
I am a couple days away from completing the program and let me say the staff here has nourished me and loved me back to health. No everything wasn’t perfect but it was exactly what I needed, from the moment I walked thru… the doors broken I felt loved and cared about. From my therapist to the amazing peer support to the ASA’s they were always there to say hey how are you and actually cared about how I was. Thanks so much Ramey❤️
The absolute worst place I ever was of your not liked your treated horrible I was forced to tell kids younger then me about every traumatic thing in my life forced or 8 was punished they use physical punishment I… understand went more abuse here mentally emotionally and some physically I was in delta group this place need to be shut down 9lthen burned down smh as a mother now I'd never send my child no matter what this is not help it's a place they send kids they don't wanna deal with no more and I'd never subject my child to this crulness I remember Mrs Melvin making us wear dirty clothes and marched us around saying nobody likea us everyone hates us bc she thought it was funny smh kids with abandonedment issues and 100 other issues this was the worst experience I tried to kill myself just so I could leave I was 15 I'm 33 now and looking back this place caused more harm and messed me up more then anything
The girls got old cottages . Sat on the floor every day . Found out later boys had nice couches. I should never be forced to talk about my past trauma or anything to peers in order to progress in the program.… Restraining people aggressively for non violent offences is abuse. I should not be laid on by 400 lb man till im about to pass out because i cant sit on a tile floor for 8 hrs . The education is a joke that left my credits all over the place . They somehow managed to false positive my drug test after a 5 hr car ride for meth like ew . I was a pothead not a tweaker. They got the kids doing all the yard work on a rediculous amount of acres in boots getting blisters but never get better boots. Generic food . I sat with an abcess tooth for so long . They brush their teeth in a circle before sugary breakfast spit one at a time and dont let you rinse, 100 percent why i even got the dental issues in the first place. Cheap cardboard tampons. Barely get to shave and when you do its in a circle with shaving cream and a cup of water with everyone watching you . Was there a yr and a half and there was only one field trip to a pottery place . Every good review is someone who developed stockholm syndrome to make it out And they truthfully have it. All your bad reviews are the people who made it out by faking their stockholm syndrome, or they aged out.
This program literally saved my life
Just saying. I'm gonna do everything to make sure this place is still legit. It was NOT when I went there. I literally almost died there. Luckily my mom was a nurse and saw a medical addition added to my file without… her knowing when I went there. I always suffer from migraines. Always have still do, 20 some years later. They were threatening, they were abusive, and even though they admitted me to a hospital in Ashland and were told I was dying, they did NOT tell my mom. They didn't even tell me. All I know is next morning my parents and police showed up, took me out and to local hospital where I had a temperature of 106.3 and a blood sugar count of 31. In the process of figuring it all out, came out there was some money theft going on from someone in admin as well. Idk about now, but that place left scars, and honestly is lucky I never decided to take it all to court
Not a good place. They allow people to walk around high with no consequences, and just lay around being high so they can keep you around as long as possible to charge your insurance. I went and got my Ged as soon as… possible and started a job a week later, to ramey those were red flags because their goal is to have people who they can get the most insurance money out of but since I was actually trying to better myself they took any situation they could find to get me out to bring in a hopefully fresh active addict to exhaust their insurance for as long as they can. I was discharged midprogram because I was leading towards getting my life together and that's not what they want. They kicked me out for supposedly "missing" 1 individuals session with the therapist even tho I showed proof I was in her classroom ON TIME. They could careless, didn't ask me anything about it further and while I was on my trip to dentist they called to tell me I couldnt come back or get my clothes and that they will pack my clothes for me and send it to a random place that I have to go pick them up from.
It's sad to say that they're is no accountability no respect no consequences peer support is told not to do they're job people are constantly stealing and bringing dhope to the campus false hope and empty promises
I was there for 13 months as a teen. At first I hated everything about it. By the time I graduated the program, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to leave. It was safe and the staff became like family to me.
My son was accepted into Ramey/Estep Home. The only true place that cares about your child’s issues and will educate change your child’s life forever!! When your child is out of order this is the place to get treatment.… I appreciate all the staff. Thank you very much, Suzanna Swann
This is a horrible facility needs to be shut down for the abuse they cause to children terrible place .
This place is absolutely wonderful! Staff here treats everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect.
Ty for helping me the person I am today. November 2022
Hands down best place all around.!!!
This home is a nightmare I went here when I was 12 they have no Wi-Fi no service you sit with your kid once every 4 weeks in a dirty quiet gym with a brown chair for 5 minutes its a deadass hell mr clean needs to get a… scrub daddy and start cleaning the place not including they are a very high risk of choking your kid beating yours not feeding them nothing more then a pack of crackers and warm water no showers it’s like prison
Big thank you to someone who wasn't there very long and someone who was a LEGEND there... Big shout-out to Mr Briggs And Mr./Mrs.Sammons if it wasn't for y'all I would NOT be where I am today thank you guys so much for… turning this BOY into a MAN!!
