I was there and was fortunate to get into and no rehab is perfect, but for me it was what I needed. Chris and Martin were great im my rehab and journey to recovery. I'm still in contact with them and others who are… clean and sober
No no no it's ridiculous I'm there it's nasty in there full of bedbugs my dad getting bit the hell up in there the state already been in there the other day and one of the stuff says when the state comes in don't be… saying nothing bout bedbug you crazy is hell am saying something period
Mr.Whitfield was very helpful in helping me with my alcoholism and alcohol recovery.I was hesitant at first to accept I had an addiction and or a problem but his lessons helped me open up and own my responsibilities for… my internal and external triggers. As I let his outlook and experience on addiction resinate class by class it made fighting addiction and recovering more manageable.i would recommend Mr.Whitfield and this program for anyone struggling with addiction in life.
Mr. Whitfield have my experience here very challenging but understanding to my knowledge. He has helped my recovery become a breeze. He gives not only addiction lessons but life lessons as well. This program has made a… major impact on my life I’m grateful and thankful.
Class very enlightening. Instructor knowledgeable with very pointed discussions.
This has been the best experience I have had with recovery. The outpatient classes I take with Mr. Yehudah have been very beneficial in my recovery process. Without it I don’t know if I would still be sober.
Mr. Benjehudah is the best counselor i had i wish I had him in 2015 and I probably wouldn’t be back but lesson learn and I’m not worthless I know my worth and I’m grateful to be in his class
This place saved my life 4 years ago. Was it fun? No. Did I cry? Yes. Did they take care of my every want? No. Did I swear I would throw a fit to have them shut down? Yes. Am I sober 4 years later? Yes. This place saved… my life 4 years ago....
I attended their 28 residential program in late 2012 and early 2013. I actually asked to stay longer and was allowed to. I've been sober since and today I am at 12 years, 3 months and 16 days. I am extremely grateful… for them and the grant that allowed me to attend at a lower cost because I didn't have medical insurance. Of course I didn't right? I had nothing. By the time I came here I was at my personal bottom. I'm still in therapy and working on my recovery daily. Is this place perfect? No. But it's gives you a good foundation to BEGIN your recovery. Here as with any other place or person with addiction experience will tell you recovery never ends. So if you're looking for a quick fix to addiction issues this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for a place where most of the people there genuinely care and you want a good place to start your recovery then this is absolutely the place for you. Over a decade later I'm living on my own, I now own my own business and have a few genuinely caring and good friends. Thank you South Suburban! I believe in my heart if it wasn't for this place I wouldn't be writing this review.❤️
While I acknowledge the presence of some unfavorable comments, I would like to share my personal experience with this establishment, which played a crucial role in my daughter's recovery. My love for my child is… immeasurable, and it has been heart-wrenching to witness her struggle with addiction, which significantly impacted her life. I had previously attempted to persuade her to seek rehabilitation, but she consistently resisted and even left facilities upon admission. However, during her time at South Suburban Counsel, the dedicated counselors, Nicole and Keith, were instrumental in encouraging her to remain and pursue her healing journey. Although the environment is quite strict and certain freedoms, such as smoking cigarettes, are restricted, these measures are ultimately for the benefit of the individuals seeking help. Therefore, I urge anyone facing addiction challenges to consider this facility and adhere to its guidelines. It has the potential to transform your life and help you realize the future you deserve. I am immensely grateful to Nicole and Keith for their unwavering commitment to assisting individuals in reclaiming their sobriety. May they be blessed for their efforts!
The young lady that answers the phone has a serious attitude problem, should not be answering phone calls. Very rude and unhelpful.
If you had 0 stars thats exactly what it was like🤬 thats not what it looks like either false advertising those pics is not nothing like where i was.It use to be a hotel before.deserve a law suit. The way they treat… people in there. Its more like prison. I came for help and all i got was bed bugs . Covid and kicked out in the rain while i was sick as hell. No regards to my health had to beg to get back end just to call for a ride. Was told i had to go because i caught covid while staying there. You suppose to have help me. They only made my situation worser. Bipolar some of the staff there have serious issues there dame self. Oh my God i need more help than i did before i went. And i was a walk in patient. Wasn’t sent by no authority figures.law suit for real. I dont know what there spending the money on but they dame show anit investing back in there business . I i was written a book on my life experience with spiritual awakening and wined up writing about them. A family of love where did we go wrong not just a a group but as a nation and the world. Greed over need
I see why the rating is so low. This is an unprofessional facility. I called on Fri to set up an admission day. I was told there was a situation and I would be contacted in about 20 minutes. I gave my information and… waited. After 2 hours I callback to find out that intake was closed. I haven't been able to reach intake since then. If this is how you all work before you take my money, I don't even want to know what happens after. I do not recommend this place. I'm annoyed too, because going into treatment was a choice, not a requirement. Now I have to start over. I'm not mad though. I would've regret coming here
I just left the Council yesterday afternoon and my lawyer will be filing a lawsuit against the Council including A counselor named Alina or Ms. Alita. I was continuously harassed by her and she even got in my face and… smelled like alcohol 🥃and Newport Cigarettes!! My uncle David passed away just yesterday and she showed no empathy or sympathy to me especially during this trying time. 😭She also was being biased in regards to my Mental Health Condition even going so far as to say,"I do not care about your dead uncle and you need to shut up and take your meds"!!! I've NEVER been so disrespected and treated this way by anyone! She should be terminated IMMEDIATELY! Lastly, Shout-out to the BEST counselor period, Mrs. Rhonda Ball!🙏God is good all the time and all the time God is good! In conclusion, the quality of food is worse than Cook County Corrections and groups/ meetings were NOT being ran professionally. I'd give this place half a ⭐if I could!
Very professional and friendly.
Answer the phone and hangs up. Wouldn't trust this place
Absolutely THE best place I could have went for my alcahol addiction 👍👍😎. It's been three years. Thank you all so much for the support ❤.
I came here years ago. Was forced to leave on one of the coldest days we had that year I. The winter because my insurance wouldn't cover my stay anymore I had asked what happens if I can't find anyone to pick me up.… They said I would have to leave and that's not their problem. I didn't get medication I needed for a week and left with a stalker...there were men and women hooking up in the washroom cigarettes and drugs being brought in. And someone got away with 20 dollars of mine that I supposedly used to buy medication but then later received a bill for.....
Staff are kind and concerned but let me down with a promise that my daughter would not be discharged to the street.
Hubby and I've been trying to reach someone to get paperwork for weeks. We stopped in and were told someone would call us the next wk, but no one ever did. Attempts to call are a waste of time. Operator refuses to take… a message and just puts you through to a full VM box. Extremely lazy and unprofessional
A family member of mine just ran out of this place. The website says bring your own bedding(optional) they didn’t let them bring them in, feminine hygiene products, shaver or towels ( they didn’t let them bring them),… and the bed they display is not the bed you get. The bed is a twins size pad on a singular slat, had nasty stains (streaks) on the sheets, no lock doors, men and women share bathrooms (with no locks) when criminals are ordered to stay here. I understand this is a place for rehabilitation but the facility isn’t habitable and they SERIOUSLY LIE about what they offer for residential patients. How does this help people with addictions, putting them in unsafe and unkept environments.
Save your life & your family!
First off they told my sister 2 month before anyone can see or talk to here. Fine, I get it theres alot of ppl you have I talk to. Secondly on the day of her meeting (today 3/7/22) 12pm no one called she waited 2 hrs… and still no calls. She called the rehab center and after 4 times and her leaving messages she finally talked to the receptionist who transferred her to the managers who did not pick up there phones (receptionist said they where all in the office) this is absolutely ridiculous you guys are supposed to help these ppl not make them to relaps again. My heart is broken for my sister and all the others that went to this place.
I attended inpatient rehab here from December of 2012 to the end of February of 2013. I was allowed to stay longer than the 28 days. I have been clean since! I have 9 years 4 months and 12 days clean. Can addiction be… fixed in one inpatient program? Not at all. But they provided me the foundation I needed to work on what I needed to to continue on my journey. I hope anyone who is thinking of going does. It saved my life!
I was stuck in this place years ago and it was awful. I didn't even feel like I left there any different than when I came in.
