About VOA Behavioral Health Services – Quincy

VOA Behavioral Health Services is at 1419 Hancock Street in Quincy. Braintree is 3.0 miles away and Milton 4.1. That radius takes in Milton, Weymouth, Randolph and Hingham, all within 6 miles. Quincy sits in Norfolk County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

The facility runs intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Medication for opioid dependence is available here alongside talking treatment. Substance use and mental health are treated together rather than in sequence. Telehealth appointments are available, which matters where the drive is long. Veterans are a named group here. Licensing sits with the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, alongside federal SAMHSA registration.

If you want unreliable prescribers whom you have to chase for each medication refill this is the perfect place.

I've been a client of VOA Quincy for years and the quality of their clinical service has really gone downhill. They no longer actively prioritize client care like they used to, which was at the time really exceptional.… It seems that the recent changes in upper administration has put client needs dead last of concern at Volunteers of America.

Horrendous patient care. Went there for medication maintenance followed all their procedures through out the month ie counseling 2 times per week. When it came time to receive my medication that I have been on for 20… years I had a zoom appointment with Dr. Dixon. She prescribed all different medications. After taking the medications Dr. Dixon prescribed I ended up in the ER

I was treated with kindness and compassion! I had left VOA a month ago because my wonderful counselor had moved on, and I went to another agency for help , but after 5 weeks I still had no treatment plan and no… referrals were made, (even though I complained of intrusive thoughts and let the counselor know I had previously been in prison for beating a man to death dur ing one of these PTSD episodes!! Would you believe that the agency I am referring to states as part of its mission statement to do this work to protect the public from the mentally ill! What a joke!! No, but VOA welcomed me back and immediately began teaching me techniques to stop my racing mind, I mean IMMEDIATELY!! I was assigned a counselor for the very next day, I was then given an appt. With a Dr For few days away! What a Great place!! Andre Daunais

I’ve been seeing Ann and Kelly for about two years now. They are very kind and empathetic and go above and beyond to help. They are so easy to talk to and feel more like friends than therapists. Five stars!!

They basically opened up a massive jar of worms in my head and dumped me out to deal with it on my own. Therapist disappeared and wouldn’t return calls/emails. Ended up in crisis and going inpatient as a result. This… was my first adult experience with therapy and it messed me up pretty badly.
