Worcester County Health Department – Berlin Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 9730 Healthway Drive in Berlin, Maryland, 21811. This address falls in Worcester County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

Its like Disneyland. Just kidding, its just like you would expect a health department to be. Why can we even review it? Will a review make any difference for a government run facility?
I had a wonderful experience at this facility. Nice people, great therapist, and fine medication management!
Great friendly staff to welcome you. Very informative and there are lots of handy information available as to what our Health Dept has to offer us and many educational pamphlets to take with you. The lobby is full of… all our Health Department's education for us! Please stop by the lobby, so much you can learn!
Great 👍
I've been going here since I was eight years old, prescribed medications left and right, therapists switched constantly, and I can no longer take it. The final cherry on top was the rude receptionists. Not to mention,… being made to wait continually for refills that I desperately need and medications I've been taking since I was eight, and have horrible withdrawals if made to wait. God forbid you forget you have an appointment, or you think one of your appointments might be telehealth, because the receptionist, especially the older lady, will make you feel absolutely dumb and like an inconvenience to her.
I brought my son here and I was very pleased with the service! Everyone was so kind and didn’t make me or my son feel out of place! They were so helpful and my son loved the prize🙂
Thank you Sheila for your help!
Horrible
I’ve been coming here since I was 13 years old, I am now 20 turning 21 this year. I’ve had 7 different therapists and 3-4 different psychiatrists. I’ve only had two therapists I’ve realky hit it off with here. Those… being Esther and Courtney. Esther is my current therapist and she really has helped me a lot and we are doing a trauma workbook currently. I’ve also had my fair share of bad therapists here. The main one I can think of was Latisha. She was probably the worst. She said the reason I was depressed was because of my all black wardrobe (I’m emo) and that’s a style. She also said this on OUR FIRST EVER SESSION. (I was talking to her about my CDs and how my grandpa and I collect them) and she told me “I guess you’ll be getting his CDs when he passes huh” and I was immediately rubbed the wrong way- like I said. First. Ever. Session. With. Her. I absolutely loved Courtney, she was the best therapist I ever had here. She understood me like no other and was so kind. I recently saw her last year when I went to tidal heath because I was going to the mental hospital and she was still just as kind and she remembered me and said she still had the bracelet I made her. Esther is great too and I’m thankful I’m still working with her.
The Berlin Health Department is a joke. Dr Kapoor has absolutely no empathy for people with mental health issues. and they don't know how to treat their patients and he has no empathy for anyone in general. I would not… recommend this man to anyone!!! I don't know how he's still in practice! He puts stuff in my head like saying I told him I didn't want to take my medicine anymore and when I just told him he prescribed me too much medicine and I wanted to give some back because I had to much. Then accused me of saying I told him he poisoned me? I never said that I was just trying to tell he prescribes too much of one of my medicines and not enough with the other one. Honestly this guy should be under investigation because he should not be a doctor anymore if he is doing this to patient's! Also the front desk people are very rude as well! I am definitely going somewhere else!!
Receptionist at Behavioral Health was the most rudest and unhelpful person. Ask her for information related to asbestos, She gave me a number to call. When I told her They were not related to asbestos She got very… frustrated and annoyed and did not offer any further help.
Friendly staff! Love my Nurse Jamie & Psychiatrist Laurie. Dr Kapoor should retire he has no clue!
Very nice staff. I love my counselor Gina and my therapist Laurie. They are helping me with my Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Bipolar, Moscphomia Disorders.
Friendly Staff willing to help you out filling a prescription might be a little difficult but nonetheless friendly Staff
Yeah I agree I had a poor experience with Dr. Kapoor as well a long time ago ...I told him the meds he gave me made me feel weird and I wanted to change my meds ...it took a while for me to get on the right regimen of… meds. He kicked me out of his office, threw me out. His excuse was that I always wanted to change my meds and he made me feel worse rather then better. Dr. Kapoor does not have any empathy or compassion I totally agree. I also just got dropped my my regular therapist because I had to reschedule a few times and missed a few appointments which was not my fault. People make mistakes and stuff happens thats out of people's control. That's life...so now I get a call today. Suddenly i have an appointment with a new therapist tomorrow. I really liked my therapist Linda. And I'm hurt because of this. Question, is therapy and stuff like this supposed to cause stress and anxiety? Cause the Worcester county health department certainly causes me stress and anxiety and I see I'm not the only one.
Dr. Kapoor has no empathy or ounce of caring. He will tell you that any mental problems you are suffering from are "all in your head". He prefers to talk about his own family during sessions. Trying to refill a… prescription is like fighting an army. No nurses will pick up the phone, so you will have to leave a message and pray that your medicine is refilled. If Dr. Kapoor is on one of his three month long visits to India, good luck.
Great service. Friendly staff
I go here for my GYN and for my mental health. The staff is always kind and courteous. I'm not sure as to why anyone would give it a 1 star
