Treatment Centers in Montana That Accept Humana

Humana covers drug and alcohol rehab in Montana through its Medicare plans, the only Humana medical coverage left for most Montanans after it closed its employer group business. Humana runs no Montana Medicaid plan, and Montana sits in the TRICARE West Region, which TriWest Healthcare Alliance administers instead of Humana Military.

Each program on this page lists its phone number, the levels of care it offers and any accreditation from The Joint Commission or CARF, based on government treatment registers and state licensing records. Browse the listings below, filtering by city or level of care, to see which programs are listed near you.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Montana?

Yes, for Montanans enrolled in a Humana Medicare plan. Humana offers at least one type of Medicare plan in every state, Montana included, and its Medicare Advantage plans must pay for at least what Original Medicare covers, which includes inpatient mental health and substance use care, partial hospitalization and outpatient therapy at treatment programs in Montana.

Humana Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky, now sells mostly government-funded coverage. It announced in February 2023 that it would leave employer group commercial medical plans, it runs no Montana Medicaid plan because Montana Medicaid is state-run, and its TRICARE contract covers the East Region, not Montana, so rehabs that accept Humana in Montana see Medicare cards.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Montana?

Yes. Medicare Part A covers inpatient mental health and substance use care in a general or psychiatric hospital, and Humana Medicare Advantage plans list that benefit; one 2026 Texas plan, Humana Gold Plus H0028-030, itemizes inpatient mental health, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient substance use and opioid treatment program services, which Medicare inpatient rehab programs bill.

How long will Humana Medicare pay for inpatient care in Montana?

Humana Medicare pays for medically necessary inpatient days, with one limit spelled out: 190 lifetime days in a freestanding psychiatric hospital, which does not apply to a general hospital. Humana Advantage plans usually charge a per-day copay for the first days of a stay and nothing after that, up to the plan’s yearly out-of-pocket maximum.

Does Humana need prior authorization for rehab in Montana?

Humana’s Montana plan documents were not available to check, so authorization rules come from each plan’s Evidence of Coverage and the number on the member card. Humana Behavioral Health, the company’s own unit once called LifeSynch and before that Corphealth, handles behavioral care, so Medicare residential rehab programs call Humana first.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Montana?

Usually, as part of a covered inpatient hospital stay or outpatient treatment, since Humana’s Medicare sources do not list detox as a separate benefit and its plans follow Part A and Part B rules. Montana members going to Medicare detox programs should confirm the program is in their plan’s network, because HMO plans generally limit non-emergency care to it.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Montana?

Yes. Medicare Part B covers outpatient therapy, counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, family counseling as part of treatment and partial hospitalization, and Humana’s 2026 Texas example also lists intensive outpatient services. Montana members can use Medicare IOP programs and Medicare-covered therapists such as psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers and nurse practitioners.

Humana says Medicare covers counseling by phone or video and that some of its Medicare Advantage plans offer mental health telehealth at no extra cost while others charge a copay. On Humana’s Michigan PPO example, telehealth mental health and substance use visits were covered only in network, a rule Montana members should check before using Medicare telehealth programs.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Montana?

Yes. Medicare covers methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone for opioid use disorder through enrolled opioid treatment programs, with counseling and drug testing included, and Humana’s Medicare Advantage plan documents list opioid treatment program services as covered. Part D may also cover some of these drugs, so Medicare Suboxone programs check the plan’s drug list.

Does Humana cover methadone clinics in Montana?

Yes, for Medicare members using an enrolled opioid treatment program. Humana lists methadone delivered through those programs as a covered service on its Medicare Advantage plan documents, and the copay is set plan by plan, so the Evidence of Coverage for a Montana plan shows what methadone medication clinics will charge.

Will a Humana drug plan cover mental health medications during rehab in Montana?

Generally yes. Humana notes that Medicare Part D plans must cover antidepressants, anticonvulsants and antipsychotics, with limited exceptions, which matters for people treated for a co-occurring condition. Humana’s Medicare Advantage types include Gold Plus HMO, HumanaChoice PPO, private fee-for-service and special needs plans, and Medicare dual diagnosis rehab fits within them.

Humana Rehab Centers in Montana Near Canyons, Hot Springs and Lakes

Humana Medicare rules do not change with Montana’s landscape, but network type does matter in a state with long drives. HMO-POS members may see non-network providers for some services at a higher copay, PPO members can use any provider who agrees to treat them, and a non-contracted program may decline a Humana member outside an emergency.

Humana rehab near canyons

Canyon country in Montana centers on Bighorn Canyon south of Hardin in Big Horn County, near the Wyoming line. Humana Medicare members heading to rehabs near canyons or Hardin treatment programs follow the same Medicare coverage as anywhere in the state, with network status set by their plan type and the Evidence of Coverage spelling out copays.

Humana rehab near hot springs

Hot springs towns include Lolo Hot Springs west of Lolo in Missoula County, White Sulphur Springs in Meagher County and Boulder in Jefferson County. Humana Medicare members using rehabs near hot springs or Lolo rehab programs pay their plan’s copays, which Humana sets by plan and county, and out-of-network rules follow the plan type.

Humana rehab near lakes

Lake settings include Georgetown Lake between Anaconda and Philipsburg and the Hauser and Holter reservoirs on the Missouri near Helena. All 2026 Humana Medicare Advantage plans include dental, vision and hearing coverage, but rehab benefits near rehabs near lakes depend on whether the program is in the plan’s network.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Montana?

Browse the listings on this page. Each program shown lists Humana among the coverage it accepts, and filters narrow the list by city, level of care and substance. Each listing shows the program’s phone number, so the first call reaches the program directly, and rehabs that accept Medicare appear on a wider page.

Admission with Humana starts with the plan: Humana Medicare Customer Care is 800-457-4708, seven days a week from October 1 to March 31 and weekdays the rest of the year, and the program can confirm benefits there. Military and veteran coverage in Montana runs through TriWest, not Humana. The lines that apply in Montana are below.

Humana rehab in Billings

Billings residents with both Medicare and full Montana Medicaid are dual eligible, but Humana lists its integrated dual plans only in Illinois, Indiana, Virginia, Michigan and South Carolina. A dual member in Billings keeps Montana Medicaid alongside any Humana Medicare plan, and Billings drug and alcohol programs may bill both.

Humana rehab in Great Falls

Great Falls is home to Malmstrom Air Force Base, but Humana Military’s TRICARE contract covers only the East Region. Montana belongs to the TRICARE West Region, so TriWest Healthcare Alliance handles TRICARE claims and authorizations for families using Malmstrom AFB area programs, at 888-874-9378, and TriWest also runs VA community care in the state.

Humana rehab in Missoula

Veterans in Missoula on Medicare can weigh Humana USAA Honor Giveback plans, built for veterans and offered in 46 states and Washington, D.C. for 2026 with no copay for in-network mental health visits; Humana did not list those states. VA community care in Montana runs through TriWest in Region 4, at 877-226-8749, for veterans using East Missoula rehab programs.

Humana rehab in Kalispell and Northwest Montana

Humana is not renewing a number of Medicare Advantage plans for 2027, with notices due October 2, 2026 and coverage in those plans ending December 31, 2026, and it did not publish which counties are affected. A Kalispell member who got that letter can still use Kalispell treatment centers under the current plan through December.

Can I use Humana Medicare for rehab outside Montana?

Yes, depending on the plan type. HumanaChoice PPO members can see non-contracted providers anywhere who agree to treat them, usually at higher cost, while Gold Plus HMO members generally need network providers except in emergencies. Original Medicare rules still set the floor, so any Humana Advantage plan covers medically necessary care in some form.

How much does rehab cost with Humana in Montana?

Costs depend on the plan and county. Humana Medicare Advantage plans mostly charge flat copays per visit and per-day copays for the first days of an inpatient stay, with an annual in-network out-of-pocket maximum, and its 2026 Texas and Michigan examples show those patterns. Montana prices appear in each plan’s Summary of Benefits.

Humana Medicare is one of several ways older Montanans pay for treatment. Listings here also show Medicare outpatient rehab and state funded outpatient rehab, and each listing says which payment types the program takes, which helps when a Humana plan ends or changes for 2027 and a member has to compare costs quickly.
