Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about Luxury TRICARE

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Cardinal Care pay for luxury rehab in Virginia?

No, Cardinal Care, Virginia's Medicaid program, does not pay for luxury rehab, and Luxury listings in Virginia do not list Medicaid. Cardinal Care members get addiction treatment through the Addiction and Recovery Treatment Services benefit, delivered by plans such as Sentara Health Plans or Anthem HealthKeepers Plus. TRICARE pays first for members with both.

Can veterans in Virginia use VA care instead of TRICARE?

Yes, veterans enrolled in VA health care can use the VA medical centers in Hampton, Richmond and Salem, which run separately from TRICARE. A retiree who holds both should ask any private Virginia program which coverage it can bill before admission.

Can Reserve members use TRICARE for luxury rehab in Virginia?

Yes, Selected Reserve members in Virginia who are not on active duty orders of more than 30 days, and not eligible for federal employee coverage, can buy TRICARE Reserve Select, which carries the full addiction treatment benefit.

The 2026 premium is $57.88 a month for the member or $286.66 for the family. No referral is needed, but a residential stay needs Humana Military's pre-authorization, and the network inpatient cost is $79 an admission.

TRICARE rules in Virginia depend first on who the member is. An active duty service member needs a referral and pre-authorization for any civilian program and pays nothing for authorized care, while a family member or retiree has more choice of program and pays a cost share that depends on the plan and the year the sponsor joined.

Virginia is in the TRICARE East Region, so Humana Military handles behavioral health referrals and authorizations for members across the state, from rehab programs in Leesburg and treatment listings in Vienna to rehab options in Winchester. Johns Hopkins also offers the US Family Health Plan in Virginia, a TRICARE Prime option with its own network.

Residential addiction programs in Virginia are licensed by the Office of Licensing at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), while public treatment runs through local community services boards. Luxury on RehabSeekers.com means private residential programs that take private insurance or self-payment and do not list Medicaid, so Cardinal Care plans are not among their payments; the label describes payment, not quality.
