Central Texas VA Healthcare System – Waco Detox and Rehab Services
Central Texas VA Healthcare System – Waco is listed as running detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Central Texas VA Healthcare System – Waco Reviews and Ratings
Have you or a loved one been treated at Central Texas VA Healthcare System? A few lines about admissions, the staff and what happened after treatment ended can help another family in Waco weigh the same choice.
Very good staffs and nurses. Friendly and makes me feel at home. Beautiful people.
Very helpful and kind
Came here for hearing aides, as Temple VA was a long wait for appointments. Not a problem with getting here, parking lot is small, but found a spot no problem, and the rest of my visit was quick, I was treated with… respect and consideration . Shout out to the Audiology team!
Can call or use patient portal does not matter. They might call you back. Can take in my case weeks!!! So tired of the VA system. When the Gold team final called they suggested to get the same bp medicine that I was on.… That is why the message said to change it, because it was not working. Wake the hell up team!!!
Patient Advocacy for this VAMC is useless.
Great VA
Smile program is definitely recommended
They will not help you and will only make you worse. Their doctors are untrained when they have them and they will reschedule you without notice
Had an issue with a provider in Austin taking away a medicine I've been on for over a year and she wouldn't budge. Dr. Pierson helped me, provided an excellent level of care and showed compassion, something that is… sometimes lacking in the VA Healthcare system.
Went Well-Patient since 2000
Absolutely best experience ever! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and zero wait time. So happy I chose Waco.
Wait an hour or more every time I call community care
It's a damn shame that I waited for an hour probably would have been longer just to get through to an operator to transfer me to a department. I just hung up come on VA we have got to do better than this.
Very polite and helpful, explained every step I needed to know
Absolutely the very best! Everyone was professional and courteous. Facility was impressive.
Our veterans deserve better. I could write a novel with all the issues at the place but unfortunately this is what our vets have.
