Central Texas VA Healthcare System – Temple Reviews and Ratings
What is Central Texas VA Healthcare System like for patients? Reviews in this section, from RehabSeekers and from around the web, describe the program in the words of patients and families who know it.
Worse VA hospital and satellite CBOCs. Especially Cedar Park. The doctor does not even try to tell me what's wrong. Only nothing we can do right now. The doctors are a joke they don't even answer their phones to make… appointments or give advice. They absolutely are the worse Central Texas i feel for you. I'm going back to South Texas VA at Audie Murphy in San Antonio. At least they're the doctors seems to care and they answer their phones.
Yes sometimes you do have to wait, but they have always taken care of me. Most of the staff are great. You run into some bad attitudes every where and even in the private sector. If someone doesn't like it go pay the… exuberant prices for a private doctor. We are lucky to have this place.
The VA only uses medical records from other VA systems. I enlisted in 2007 injuries broken legs and getting crushed all along the way. Central texas VA only has medical records since 2011 from the Mississippi VA system.… My military medical records from time in service are ignored. They do not count. My personal hardcopy records the Army gave when Honorably discharged are considered falsified medical documents. Although I have sent them to release of information at both VAs Mississippi and Texas, the doctors refuse to request them from the national archives. I did, I have sealed envelope containing a cd from the national archives and the doctors at the Central TX VA refuse to open it. They say its falsified medical documents. The patient advocate Tandy Kinard has agreed with rhe doctors. They said I was not doing enough. The Central Texas VA abuses thier veterans and treats them as Sub Humans. We are told how we feel by the doctor's medical records are not involved. At this point I feel that The Central Texas VA systems are a complete waist of government funding and a malpractice zone. The patient advocates are doctors advocates Pay for your own insurance do not use the VA. Do not join the military they will erase your life. They do not care. The Mission Act, The PACT Act. Its a joke. There is no assistance after getting crushed, your head hit 3 times losing consciousness and breaking both legs. None of that happened and the doctors do not have to look at the medical records they just know. Its a psychic feeling all VA doctors have that they tell no one about. The VA is failing the Veterans and leaving them behind while the patient advocates laugh, and treat the Veterans as sub humans
I've been going do the VA in Temple for a long time now and out of my experiences despite some of the bad reviews the worst VA to go to is West LA in Los Angeles but this one in Temple it's always been good to me good… medical treatment friendly staff I thank God for this hospital that is help me through physical and mental health issues
Got approved for a scooter chair in 6 to 8 weeks. Now week 14 and only because I chose not to take delivery od a busted one
I’m not sure what happened, but the scheduling department seriously sucks. These people will spend hours arguing with you on the phone instead of actually doing their job or trying to help. Anytime you try to make an… appointment, the provider leaves, and they schedule you six months out again and again then later blame you, saying you haven’t been there in “X” amount of time. Well, DUH, every time I schedule, you guys cancel it! They’re making up their own paperwork and lying on the record, and when you correct them on what really happened, they say, “I don’t know.” WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW? I just told you what actually happened! Please hire people who actually care about helping veterans.
THIS IS HORRIBLE! The automation phone line is horrible! It hung up on me twice, google lists the wrong phone number. Our poor veterans receive the worse care! Sad sad sad
Absolutely pathetic level of care for our Vets. It took 3 seperate calls that combined to over 1 hour to tell me there was no availability with my PCM. Every time I go in to see my PCM its a ghost town. Why even call… and make an appointment for symptoms if you cant be seen for months? Then when you do get seen its a couple more months for imaging? Then a few more months to get in for a follow up. The fact I chose to spend my money via private healthcare over benefits earned is a disgrace. I am also convinced that the only requirement for any customer facing office is a warm body. Once I do see my Dr/Specialist I feel like I get great healthcare, its the process/people in between that are wildly inefficient. Why can I call a private company and be seen same or next day and get imaging done within days, but the VA takes MONTHS. VA should be dismantled and vets should be able to do all of this in the community.
The Blue team, Dr Kim and my MH team take very good care of me. I pray that someday all Veterans are afforded the same care as it makes life a lot easier to manage.
Hope they close that place down and go civilian. Lots of good people being painted in a negative way with their rudeness and laziness. The Patient Advocates are advocating for the inefficiency of its personnel. I am… waiting for requested records they cannot for a million bucks reach my home. Disgusting.
1 month or longer to see primary care and 2 months to reschedule an appointment the clinic claimed I cancelled via text. 3 months for a MRI. I'm done wasting my fuel driving here. No wonder vets die waiting for care, we… can't be seen.
I pray everyone would get the support and care I get at the Hospital and at the clinic. I sure do appreciate everyone there. Thank you.
Thanks to a "Mr. Jordan" who proceeded to be rude and interrupting before hanging up I have zero faith in this facility after spending 15 mins on hold. After trying to establish primary care and having a few simple… questions which apparently were too difficult for Mr. Jordan in enrollment to answer. Not off to a great start VA Texas, pretty sad when Carl T. Hayden center has better quality staff than you apparently do.
I was on hold for 5 hours and when someone finally answered they immediately hung up on me, this is the 8th time I have tried to call just to get assigned a PCM for them to immediately hang up on me… I have reported… this location to the VA and honestly hope whoever is hanging up the phones in the eligibility department gets fired. This is beyond ridiculous.
What a terrible place no help workers are rude and lazy went there for about a week straight to get some paperwork done I just got to the point where I gave up worse than the social security office and the registry what… an awful place
As a GIANT Füçƙ ÿôū for your service to the women veterans, the MH clinic is in the Dom. See what happens when you compliment one department they have to mess it all up and be worse to you than when you were deployed
No one ever picks up the phone.
Mike Kiefer, has ran this place into the ground and it's only getting worse under this Hilter.
Great hospital
I'm a proud and grateful veteran. Your call center set the all time record for me today as far as wait time. I should screen shot the timer.....2 hrs 27 minutes at the time of this review. I'm going to pay for benefits… to avoid having to use this system. I'm now pulling up at Walmart and just for GP, I'm going to remain on hold listening to the "please hold, all of our agents" garbage and these other messages that I've memorized from being on hold. I'll put my earbud in and go make a couple purchases. I'll update this review after I'm done.
Does not answer their phone. But then turns phone off before it is closing time. Been calling 3 days, for 30 to 60 minutes on hold each time, WITHOUT ever talking to someone.
Call takers make you feel like you are back at CIF. 0 care, 0 feelings, 0 effort. That is when you finally get in touch with someone. Most of the time the phone rings for 10+ min with no answer, or they just hang up on… you without a single word. I got to the point that i just went to the ER. That was horrible. They asked why I didn't just make an appointment... SERIOUSLY?!?! I have given up on this place.
Prosthetics department is probably the worst. I asked the administration or receptionist personnel how long it was going to be to get my elbow pads since I already waited an hour. Yes elbow pads. For elbow pads. His… response was “we only have one provider” then remained silent. Why is there only one provider for a department that I’ve seen thus far within the hour+ that I’ve been waiting a constant flow of patients. SMH. This department needs some serious adjustments.
Helpful employees.
