Saint Josephs Medical Center – Brainerd Detox and Rehab Services

What Saint Josephs Medical Center – Brainerd offers is residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Cost, travel and waiting time are all worth weighing together. Ask whether family can be involved and at what stage.

Only one side is covered here, so ask directly if both are needed. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. What suits one person will not suit another, so ask directly. It is reasonable to ask how progress is reviewed and by whom.

I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated ,what was said and how I was judged ,I needed a referral, I was immediately refused ,I have sighns of sepsis, I was overlooked ,judged and sent on my way let alone I had… no ride home left to ask help from police the police helped me in two county's, bless those men in blue ,except cass County police never answered the other police phone calls they refused to help .I have several medical issues ,im not a drug addict even though in little words I was accused of this by medical staff .I had to walk from pine river I believe 17 miles in the dark it was very cold and scary to say the least ,cass county was called and offered a ambulance back to the hospital ,makes no sense to me at all I was not dying but in severe pain because of my medium incisional hiatal hernia, my stomach kept going in my ribs pushing on my lungs and heart. I had to lay on the cold ground in the middle of the night in severe pain ,cass county was very very unexpectedly very rude not offering any help to get home ,laid down several times very frustrating, remind you just left a abusive relationship and I have cptsd ,I was triggered by all of this ,I cryed alot ,asking myself why ,but I need a lawyer ,I need to be herd ,if this is happening to me its happening to others and maybe worse situations them mine ,im severly sick with a bad infection as well ,this is not OK, I will not be quiet, I was walking on Paul bunion trail for a while then I was super scared ,felt like theres no true honest help from cass county ,like I said two county's helped me ,but cass county ,I live in hackensack, treated me like garbage, i was severly abused ,I left my abuser at 90 pds ,my teeth are bad ,I felt worthless ,I dont want to say all the things that were done behind closed doors but the cass county police treated me as if I was nothing and this concerns me deeply ,I feel mistreated in the worst way possible, I feel that I need the publics help I was walking down the highway for a while with my friend that was trying to help but limited, if you seen us walking most of the walk one of us walking had a white cherry blankets and a grocery bag in hand .I also recorded a video on my friends phone if something unfortunately happened to both of us or I because of the severity of our situation .I need to be herd and seen this needs to be brought to the publics attention. I could not get out of bed still not well .I wont leave my home after realizing the severity of what we have been thru how I was treated .I just needed help in the most honest way .if i could I would only give no stars with a public service warning .thank you to all and who read this .I need a lawyer .most of all no one ever should be treated this way or judged .please in jesus name speak up let this be herd by the whole world I mean millions. Thank you again I appreciate that chance to speak up online ,amen for that and the two county's that actually tried to get me as far as I could go. I think about 13 to 17 miles I walked .

5 or 6 visits including urgent care, Ortho, PT and the ER and all but 2 were sub-par. 3 separate Dr/NP saw my thyroid was out of whack and none of them will adjust my dosage. I'm literally self medicating off my now… incorrect dosage. Orthopedic Dr blew off my symptoms and sent me to PT, and the PT was surprised at Orthopedic's assessment. Urgent care NP and a Dr could have changed my thyroid dose and didn't. ER NP claims to have adjusted my dose but it's not on the After Care Summary, only in the Notes. ER NP deferred to cardiologist who said send her home and have her do a stress test with no explanation why that would be beneficial. Plenty of nice personalities, but communication and execution is lacking. Thank God CentraCare is making a presence in the Brainerd area so at last I might have better choices.

If I could leave a zero, I would. I'd rather crawl to a different ER than go here. The unprofessional conduct of your ER nurses is appalling. Absolute mind boggling to be that way towards your patient,. Quick discharge… to passing out and brought back in. Total ineptitude, lack of compassion, lack of quality care. Called patient relations and spoke with them and will be writing a formal complaint.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Review of Juliet’s Review Juliet presents a frustrating communication breakdown: her partner is apparently receiving so many calls that the nurse is annoyed, yet nobody is being allowed to actually speak with him.… A fascinating system—maximum ringing, minimum communication. The mysterious promise to “go charge his phone” adds an unexpected customer-service subplot. Is the phone being charged? Is the patient unavailable for medical reasons? Is Amanda now personally managing the hospital’s electronics department? The review leaves us wanting answers. The concern is understandable, especially since the family could not reach him. However, the review lacks important context about whether the patient requested privacy, was undergoing treatment, or had authorized staff to share information. Hospitals do have strict confidentiality rules, even when those rules are communicated with all the warmth of a parking citation. Valid frustration and an intriguing premise, but too many missing details for a full diagnosis. **Final rating: 3/5—concerning communication, strong sarcasm potential, incomplete chart.**

Genuinely, this was the worst experience I've ever had while trying to get help for my depression. Every staff member I spoke with was extremely rude. I've been dealing with chronic pain throughout my body for years now… and I've came multiple times hoping to get answers and support. But it feels like my concerns were brushed aside and that only the bare minimum was done to address them. I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and disappointed with the level of care I received. I will never go back to this hospital ever again in my life.

My partner, Diane, recently underwent surgery to remove and replace her port, performed by Dr. Duinick. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Dr. Duinick’s skill, compassion, and calm bedside manner gave… us complete confidence and comfort throughout the process. The nursing staff, anesthesiologist Dr. Kippes, pre-operative nurse, Shane, and post-operative nurse Paige were all professional, caring, and attentive. Every staff member we encountered was welcoming and thorough, making Diane feel comfortable and well cared for at every step. What stood out most was not only the excellent medical care, but also the positive and supportive atmosphere among the staff. It is clear they truly enjoy working together, and that culture reflects directly in the patient experience. We feel incredibly fortunate to have such outstanding medical care available in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

If you have a genuine medical emergency go to this ER but if you have the option to go ANYWHERE else take it. The UC in the Baxter location is a good place to go from my experience but if you do go here take a family… member, friend, or someone who can advocate for you because the lack of care here is not normal.

Kudos to staff docs and nurses for doing what they can with the resources they have. However this place needs some serious overhaul. The amount of mistakes made is unbelievable and the number of times myself and close… family have been put at risk from blood infections to incorrect dosing of potent drugs is unbelievable. And if that isn't enough, be on top of your billing. I have requested a number of corrections on my bills, well into the thousands, and they are quick to send any "outstanding/challenged" bills to collections.

I brought my young son to Essentia health 4 times in 3 days following femur surgery due to signs of infection. One of these visits he was sent home without ever being examined and the following day an infection was… found by another provider. The 4th visit!!! This doctor disappeared for 3 hours no updates, I wanted to leave to go to a different hospital and they said they couldn't allow me to take him without signing an AMA. Then sent him home no treatment, he was sick enough for an AMA but nothing was wrong according to the provider? Following day it turned out he did have an infection. They for sure charged our insurance for it all though. Thousands per visit. I filed a complaint, they investigated themselves and found they did nothing wrong. Interesting how that works. He had one very invested and compassionate nurse, and only one provider was truly bad.

Several years ago My father fell at his cabin and broke his hip and was transported to this hospital. He has 4 daughters and apparently we all called to check on him and the nurse was getting perturbed and said.. what… do you think ...we are just a backwoods hospital. Well my gather ended up getting an infection from his surgery there and ultimately died from the complications of that infection..so yes.miss nurse...you are backwoods. .ONLY MAYO FOR EVERYTHING

Wonderful nurses and a wonderful delivery doctor! But the kitchen…. It is thanksgiving, my wife hadn’t eaten in god knows how long. Asked for a Chicken and Waffle sandwich. Received 2 of the hardest chicken strips I… have ever seen and a PANCAKE!!! None of it was edible! My wife started balling!! Not even the Turkey Thanksgiving dinner could fix it. That experience completely took away her appetite. Thank the lord for great staff, but the kitchen is a complete and udder joke. I’m cancelling the celebration dinner. If you’re here on a holiday, make sure to either bring leftovers or learn to enjoy vending machine food.

They don’t take anything seriously, terrible staff. My Grandma got transferred to Duluth after her kidneys basically shut down. We had to beg and beg them repeatedly to even try and get them to do something about it.… When she arrived at Duluth she looked way worse. All I have to say is that brainerd is terrible and if you need something at all I wouldn’t even go there. The disrespect is so unreal I mean we are all praying and praying that she pulls out of her decline. I will seriously never go to brainered again. I mean staff sit behind the counter all on their phones carelessly when we go tell them that something is wrong. We were there for 5 days and I mean we’ve seen it all. The disrespect the lack of effort and it’s so sad knowing my grandma now has a 50% chance to live. When she arrived at Duluth they put her on life support but the doctors at Duluth are giving us hope as they are so much more compassionate, understanding, and caring. I mean as soon as she got her Duluth was right on top of everything. All we can do is pray. The big difference between brainered and Duluth is so Unreal
