Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about Baxter

Answered from what is listed here.

Are there treatment options in neighboring areas of Baxter?

Minneapolis and Saint Paul carry the larger Minnesota listings, with Duluth and Rochester also holding entries. Inside Crow Wing County the set already covers detox, residential beds and daytime clinical hours, so a drive is optional rather than required.

Rehabs in Minnesotahttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/minnesota/
Is PHP treatment listed in Baxter?

Partial hospitalization is on the Baxter list, giving a whole weekday of clinical contact without an overnight stay, which puts it between an inpatient bed and evening groups.

Detox, residential care, weekly appointments and telehealth complete what Crow Wing County holds, and the Minnesota DHS Behavioral Health Division is the licensing body.

Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP)https://rehabseekers.com/programs/outpatient/php/
Where can adolescents in Baxter find substance use treatment?

Adolescent treatment appears on the Baxter list, with intake run apart from adult services in Crow Wing County. Medical Assistance (MA), TRICARE and private policies are the ways it gets paid for, and evening groups or a partial hospitalization timetable can be fitted around term dates so schooling carries on.

Substance Misuse Recovery Programs in Baxter, MN

Paying for treatment here goes one of two ways. With Medical Assistance, behavioral health is bought through a managed care plan, and in much of greater Minnesota those plans are county-based purchasing entities that counties own and run themselves. Without coverage, the Behavioral Health Fund under chapter 254B pays instead, financial eligibility settled by the county or Tribal Nation you live in.

The nearest listing sits 1 miles away in Alcohol Rehab, and 8 fall inside twenty-five miles once the wider lakes area is counted. Look further and the options are Brainerd, Aitkin, Staples, Onamia and Long Prairie, though the drive stretches quickly past the first of them.

0 of the listings here indicate intensive outpatient and 0 indicate medication-assisted treatment. Against 473 statewide that is a modest slice, and the real question is which program has an assessment appointment this week.

Programs are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services under chapter 245G, and a rewrite is pending: subject to federal approval the state aligns with the fourth edition of the ASAM criteria from July 2026, recasting what programs deliver as psychosocial treatment, ancillary treatment and treatment coordination. For a bad night, 988 is administered here by the Department of Health and is explicitly open to substance use distress, not suicide alone.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

Where someone starts is decided by a comprehensive assessment, not by how bad the week has been. What this page holds is a reasonable choice, across outpatient services.

Detox and Residential Treatment

Detox is short medical care for withdrawal, usually three to seven days, and the trigger is physical dependence rather than the quantity used. Residential treatment is the longer stay that can follow, weeks rather than days, the point being distance from whatever was maintaining the use. Minnesota licenses withdrawal management under a chapter of its own, 245F, separate from treatment itself.

Withdrawal management is not indicated in Baxter or in the surrounding twenty-five miles, which makes it the one step likely to mean a long drive. Residential care is nearer: 0 indicate it within that radius, none of them inside the city line.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Hours are the difference. Partial hospitalization takes most of a weekday, intensive outpatient nine to fifteen hours split across three or four sessions, and standard outpatient an hour or two a week around everything else.

8 of these listings indicate outpatient services and 0 offer telehealth, which in a county spread this thin often decides whether someone finishes a program at all. Partial hospitalization is not indicated in Baxter or within twenty-five miles, so if an assessment points there, expect to look south. About a share indicates medication-assisted treatment.

Dual Diagnosis and Sober Living

Dual diagnosis is one team treating a psychiatric condition and a substance use disorder together, rather than making someone finish one before starting the other. It is not indicated among the Baxter listings, though 0 carry it within twenty-five miles.

Sober living is not indicated on this page, and the category itself is changing. From January 2027 the statutory term in Minnesota becomes recovery residence, with a voluntary certification through the state at a peer-run and a staffed level, on-site inspection and triennial review, while room-and-board vendor arrangements phase out by mid-2027.

Cost, Insurance and Local Support in Baxter, MN

Residential treatment across the Minnesota market runs $6,000 – $27,000 and outpatient $1,200 – $5,000. Among these listings, most accept Medical Assistance, named Medical Assistance in Minnesota, with MinnesotaCare a tier above it for people earning slightly more; MinnesotaCare coverage for undocumented adults ended during 2025, though children remain eligible. A federal work requirement arrives no later than January 2027, eighty hours a month of qualifying activity for adults under sixty-five, with being in a treatment program written in as an exemption. Comparisons across the state sit on the Minnesota page.

Standard rehab and detox, Minnesota market
Level of careMonthlyDaily
Medical detox (7–14 days)$1,610 to $5,110 a week$230 – $730
Residential inpatient$6,000 – $27,000$200 – $900
PHP$7,500 – $14,000$250 – $470
IOP$3,000 – $9,000$100 – $300
Outpatient$1,200 – $5,000$40 – $170

Hospitals and Emergency Services in Baxter, MN

Newer synthetics complicate the picture further, since what is in a supply is often not what was intended, and that unpredictability is its own argument for knowing the nearest emergency department. Essentia Health St Joseph'S Medical Center runs the nearest emergency department to Baxter, with two inside twenty-five miles. Across the same twenty-five miles, two hospitals hold an emergency department. The closest few are Essentia Health St Joseph'S Medical Center, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and St Gabriels Hospital.

Hospital access matters in two ways. Two things follow from hospital access: how fast an emergency is reached, and how much treatment the area supports at all, since the more intensive levels sit close to hospitals. Since no detox appears locally, the opening stage means a journey, which makes hospital access part of the same decision. Joint Commission accreditation is held by a small number of what is listed here. It is voluntary and reviewed by an outside body, so it says more than a license does.
