Treatment Centers in Kansas That Accept Humana

Humana’s coverage for drug and alcohol rehab in Kansas comes through its Medicare plans, since Humana left employer medical coverage after 2023, runs no KanCare plan and does not hold the TRICARE contract for Kansas. Humana says it sells at least one Medicare plan type in every state, with Medicare Advantage choices set by county.

Each Kansas program below lists a phone number and the services it runs, which may include hospital detox, partial hospitalization, counseling or opioid treatment. A Joint Commission or CARF credential is shown when the program holds one. Government treatment registers and Kansas licensing files supply the details. Before you go, ask whether the program bills Medicare or your particular Humana plan.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Kansas?

Yes, for Kansans enrolled in a Humana Medicare plan. Federal rules make each Humana Medicare Advantage plan match Original Medicare at minimum, so hospital care, outpatient counseling and opioid treatment programs are all covered. Rehab programs that accept Humana appear among the Kansas rehab centers listed here.

Humana’s Kansas presence is narrower than its name suggests. Humana announced its exit from employer group medical plans in February 2023, it holds no KanCare contract, and Kansas is in the TRICARE West Region run by TriWest, not Humana Military’s East Region. What remains is Medicare: Medicare Advantage where offered by county, prescription drug plans and Medicare Supplement.

Humana handles behavioral care through an in-house company, Humana Behavioral Health. It began as Corphealth, which Humana bought in 2005, and later operated as LifeSynch. Its services include telepsychiatry, behavioral pharmacy and health coaching. A Kansas Medicare member therefore deals with Humana itself, not an outside behavioral company, when a rehab stay needs a coverage decision.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Kansas?

Yes. Medicare Part A, which Humana plans mirror, pays for hospital treatment of mental health and substance use conditions. A named 2026 Humana Gold Plus HMO plan document from Texas lists inpatient mental health care, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services as covered categories, and a Kansas plan’s Medicare inpatient rehab benefit follows the same pattern.

How long will Humana pay for inpatient rehab?

Humana Medicare Advantage plans usually charge a daily copay for the first several days of an inpatient stay and nothing after that through day 90, based on named 2026 plan documents from other states. Details for Kansas plans are in each plan’s Summary of Benefits, and hospital addiction treatment follows those per-day terms.

Does Humana Medicare have a lifetime limit on inpatient care?

Yes, for one setting only. Medicare caps lifetime days in a freestanding psychiatric hospital at 190, a limit Humana plans keep, while general hospital stays never count against it. The Humana Medicare sources used for this page show no cap on outpatient therapy visits.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Kansas?

Yes, as hospital care. Humana Medicare plans cover a medically necessary inpatient hospital stay under the Part A rules they must match, and withdrawal management in a hospital falls under that benefit. Medicare detox programs and hospital detox units in Kansas bill Humana as inpatient care, with the plan’s daily copay.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Kansas?

Yes. Part B, which Humana’s plans mirror, pays for therapy, counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, family counseling and partial hospitalization whenever they are medically necessary. Psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, nurse practitioners and physician assistants can all provide this care, and Medicare outpatient rehab programs in Kansas bill under that benefit.

Humana Medicare Advantage plans also cover counseling by phone or video, at no extra cost on some plans and with a copay on others. On one 2026 Humana PPO plan document, telehealth mental health and substance use visits were covered in network only, so a Kansan using Medicare telehealth programs should ask whether the clinician contracts with Humana.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. Opioid treatment program services appear as a covered category in Humana Medicare Advantage documents, and Medicare funds those programs to provide methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone alongside counseling, drug tests and peer support. Humana Part D plans cover prescriptions filled at a pharmacy, including those from Medicare MAT programs that prescribe rather than dispense.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes. Methadone for opioid use disorder is given through opioid treatment programs, which Humana Medicare Advantage plan documents list as covered. Original Medicare charges nothing for them once the Part B deductible is paid, while each Humana plan sets its own copay. Methadone clinics listed here state whether they are Medicare-enrolled.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes, through the opioid treatment program benefit or the plan’s Part D drug list. Buprenorphine given at an enrolled opioid treatment program is billed as a medical service, while a prescription filled at a pharmacy follows the Humana formulary. Medicare Suboxone programs can say which route applies.

Humana Rehab Centers Near Waconda Lake and the Marais des Cygnes River

Humana Medicare Advantage plans are sold by county, so the plan choices available beside a north Kansas reservoir can differ from those in the river towns of the east. Original Medicare, which Humana Medicare Supplement plans pay alongside, can be used at any Medicare-enrolled program in the state.

Humana rehab near Waconda Lake

Humana members in Mitchell County live beside Waconda Lake, also called Glen Elder Reservoir, on the Solomon River west of Beloit. Rehab programs by lakes and Beloit treatment options are the nearest listings, and an HMO member here should ask whether the program contracts with the Humana plan sold in that county.

Humana rehab along the Marais des Cygnes River

Humana members in Franklin and Miami counties live along the Marais des Cygnes River, which passes Ottawa and Osawatomie on its way into Missouri. Treatment centers near rivers and Ottawa rehab programs serve this stretch, and a Humana PPO member can also use programs that do not contract with Humana, at a higher cost share.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Kansas?

Browse the listings on this page. Entries show how to call, what care is offered and any accreditation, and Medicare members can sort them by city, care level or payment. Medicare rehab listings include programs that bill Humana Medicare plans, and admissions staff know whether they contract with your specific Humana plan.

Humana admission depends on the member’s plan type. An HMO member needs a program in the plan’s network outside an emergency, while a PPO member may also use a willing out-of-network program. The member can call Humana Medicare Customer Care with the program’s name to ask about benefits. The table shows how Humana’s Medicare plan types treat networks.

Humana rehab in Wichita

Humana markets its Humana USAA Honor Giveback plans to veterans, though anyone eligible for Medicare can join. For 2026, they were sold in 46 states and Washington, D.C. If one is offered in Sedgwick County, a veteran on it uses network programs among College Hill treatment programs and elsewhere in the city.

Humana rehab in Junction City and Leavenworth

Humana Military does not serve military families in Junction City or Leavenworth, because Kansas belongs to the TRICARE West Region, where TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the contractor. Retirees there who move to Medicare can pick a Humana plan, then use Junction City rehab services or downtown Leavenworth programs.

Humana rehab in Overland Park and Kansas City, Kansas

Humana Medicare Advantage plans are filed by county, so a Johnson County resident and a neighbor across the Missouri line may see different Humana plans even inside one metro. The plan on the card sets the network for downtown Overland Park programs and downtown Kansas City, Kansas rehabs.

Humana rehab in Pittsburg and southeast Kansas

Humana sells dual-eligible special needs plans for people on both Medicare and Medicaid in some states; in Kansas the Medicaid side would be a KanCare plan, since Humana runs none. A Crawford County resident with both should ask whether a Humana dual plan is sold in the county and which plan pays first before admission to Pittsburg treatment centers.

Can I use Humana for rehab in a different state?

Yes, on some Humana plans. A HumanaChoice PPO member can see providers outside the network who agree to treat them, though costs are higher, and one 2024 North Carolina HMO-POS document allowed some non-network services at a higher copay. A Humana Gold Plus HMO limits non-emergency care to its network, while a Medicare Supplement works wherever Original Medicare does.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Most Humana Medicare Advantage plans use a fixed copay per visit and a daily charge for the opening days of a hospital stay, all limited by a yearly in-network out-of-pocket maximum. Amounts differ by plan and county. Under Original Medicare, which Medicare Supplement plans pay alongside, most outpatient mental health services carry 20 percent coinsurance after the Part B deductible.

Are any Humana Medicare plans ending after 2026?

Yes, in some places. Humana announced that a set of Medicare Advantage plans, chiefly ones rated 3.5 stars or below, will end December 31, 2026, and that members would be told by October 2, 2026. Humana did not publish the counties, so a Kansas member should read any notice received and compare plans during open enrollment.

Humana is one of several ways older Kansans pay for treatment. Members with both Medicare and Medicaid can look at KanCare Medicaid plans for costs Medicare does not cover, and the listings also mark sliding scale addiction programs for when a Humana network leaves out the program a member wants.
