Treatment Centers in Mississippi That Accept Aetna

Aetna covers drug and alcohol rehab in Mississippi mainly through employer health plans, including self-funded plans it administers and the federal employee plans it runs nationwide. Aetna left the ACA marketplace for 2026 and is not a Mississippi Medicaid plan, so most Aetna members in the state carry their coverage through work.

Every listing on this page gives the facility’s phone number, the levels of care offered and accreditation where The Joint Commission or CARF lists it, based on government treatment registers and Mississippi licensing records. Browse the listings below and filter by level of care, then confirm network status with the number on the Aetna card.

Rehabs by setting in Mississippi

Other parts of Mississippi, and what each is near.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Aetna Cover Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. Aetna covers substance use treatment as part of its mental health benefits, and in Mississippi that benefit reaches people mainly through employer coverage. Because most of Aetna’s commercial members are in self-funded employer plans, the employer’s plan document decides which levels of care apply to rehab centers across Mississippi.

Aetna’s Mississippi footprint has three parts, none of them a state-branded company. Employers buy or self-fund Aetna health plans; federal workers can join the Mail Handlers Benefit Plan, which Aetna administers on its Choice POS II network in every state; and Meritain Health, an Aetna subsidiary, administers self-funded plans here. Aetna is not one of the Mississippi Medicaid plans.

Does Aetna Cover Inpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes, subject to precertification. Aetna’s behavioral health precertification list treats stays in a hospital, a psychiatric hospital, a substance use disorder facility or a residential treatment center as inpatient confinements that can be covered under the member’s plan. One 2026 Choice POS II employer document lists inpatient addiction treatment for substance-related disorders.

How long does Aetna cover a residential stay?

Aetna sets the length of a covered stay through precertification and ongoing review, not through a fixed number printed on its list. Reviewers apply The ASAM Criteria to addiction services, so a stay at one of the residential rehab centers continues while the clinical picture supports that level, under the member’s own employer plan.

Does Aetna need prior authorization for rehab?

Yes, for inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization care. Commercial members’ requests go to 1-888-632-3862 and Medicare members’ to 1-800-624-0756, though Aetna tells members to use the number on their card. With an out-of-network provider the member, not the facility, must arrange precertification, and federal employee plans follow their own brochure rules.

Does Aetna Cover Detox in Mississippi?

Yes. A 2026 Choice POS II employer document covers ambulatory and outpatient detoxification with medication administration, and an earlier Aetna list says outpatient detox has not needed precertification since January 1, 2019. Inpatient detox at a substance use disorder facility counts as an inpatient confinement, so detox programs request precertification first.

Does Aetna Cover Outpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. Aetna members can see counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists in person or virtually, and Aetna describes virtual access to a counselor or psychiatrist within three days or less, which can matter in rural counties. Outpatient addiction treatment on a Choice POS II plan includes office visits and therapies, with family therapy listed as part of outpatient care.

Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment both appear as covered levels in the 2026 Choice POS II document. Partial hospitalization stays on Aetna’s precertification list, while intensive outpatient dropped off it in 2019. Virtual options named by Aetna include CVS Virtual Care and Teladoc Health, though CVS Virtual Care is not offered to every member or every plan.

Does Aetna Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Mississippi?

Yes, through the pharmacy benefit run by CVS Caremark, Aetna’s sister company within CVS Health. Drug coverage differs by plan, so a member checks a specific medication against their plan year and plan name in Aetna’s drug search. Medication assisted treatment programs can confirm the formulary tier before the first fill.

Does Aetna cover Suboxone?

Yes, on commercial plans without prior authorization since March 2017, when Aetna dropped the requirement for buprenorphine products such as Suboxone, following Cigna and Anthem. Suboxone treatment providers in Mississippi still bill under the member’s employer formulary, so the tier and any quantity limit depend on that plan and its drug list for the year.

Does Aetna cover methadone?

For Aetna Medicare members, yes: Medicare covers methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone for opioid use disorder through enrolled opioid treatment programs, along with counseling, drug testing and peer support. For employer members, coverage at methadone treatment clinics depends on the services the plan covers, since Aetna’s rules apply only to covered benefits.

Aetna Rehab Centers by the Mississippi River, the Gulf Coast and Lakes

Mississippi has no mountains or desert; its settings for treatment are rivers, Gulf of Mexico beaches and reservoirs. For an Aetna member the setting does not change the benefit, because the employer network and Aetna’s precertification rules apply alike in Natchez, Biloxi or Grenada. A program farther from home still needs the same network check.

Aetna rehab near the Mississippi River

River towns along the state’s western edge include Vicksburg in Warren County, Natchez in Adams County and Greenville in Washington County, all on the Mississippi River. Rehabs near rivers there take Aetna through the member’s employer network, and Vicksburg recovery programs list their levels of care and phone numbers.

Aetna rehab on the Gulf Coast

Gulf settings run from Bay St. Louis through Gulfport and Biloxi to Pascagoula in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties. Beachside treatment centers outside a member’s network need Aetna’s in-network exception to be paid at the in-network level, and that exception itself requires precertification unless the care is an emergency. Coastal members ask first.

Aetna rehab by lakes

Lake country in Mississippi, away from the coast and the river towns, includes the Ross Barnett Reservoir on the Pearl River and the Grenada, Enid and Sardis lakes in the north-central hills. Lakeside rehab programs follow the same Aetna rules as city programs, and Brandon treatment centers sit near the reservoir’s Rankin County shore.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Aetna in Mississippi?

Browse the listings on this page. Each facility shows its phone number, levels of care and accreditation, so a call can go straight to the program, and listings for rehabs that take private insurance are filtered the same way. The program then checks whether it is in the member’s Aetna network and which plan design the card shows.

Admission runs through precertification for inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization care. The facility usually submits the request with clinical information, and the member’s card shows whether the plan is Aetna, Meritain Health, the Mail Handlers Benefit Plan or another Aetna-administered plan. Aetna rehab in Jackson, Ridgeland and Madison

Self-funded employers in Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties may use Meritain Health, whose network finder lists the Mississippi Physicians Care Network among its regional networks. A member whose card says Meritain checks that network, not Aetna’s, when choosing among Jackson addiction treatment centers or Madison outpatient programs.

Aetna rehab in Gulfport and Biloxi

Federal and postal workers on the coast may hold the Mail Handlers Benefit Plan, which uses the same Aetna Choice POS II network and phone numbers in every state, with Teladoc Health for virtual care. That makes Gulfport rehab facilities and Ocean Springs treatment options part of one national network.

Aetna rehab in Hattiesburg and the Pine Belt

Members in Hattiesburg, Petal and Laurel use Aetna’s national employer networks, the same ones used in Jackson or on the coast. Small businesses in the Pine Belt that use Trustmark’s level-funded plans may run on the Aetna Signature Administrators network, so Petal recovery services confirm which network the card names before booking.

Aetna rehab in Southaven and DeSoto County

Southaven, Olive Branch and Hernando sit just south of Memphis and the Tennessee state line, and Aetna’s employer networks are national, so a DeSoto County member on a Choice POS II plan keeps network benefits across the state line. Horn Lake rehab programs and Memphis programs alike need precertification for inpatient or residential care.

Can a Mississippi member use Aetna for rehab in another state?

Usually yes. Aetna sells employer plans nationally rather than through a single state network, and Choice POS II plans cover both in-network and out-of-network care. Open Access EPO and HMO designs cover out-of-network care only in an emergency, so a Mississippi member on those plans needs an in-network program for long-term rehab with insurance.

How much does rehab cost with Aetna?

Aetna’s cost depends on the plan. One 2026 college employer plan charges 20% coinsurance for in-network inpatient mental health and substance use care and 40% out of network, and Aetna says out-of-network providers can bill above its allowed amount. Two Choice POS II plans also add a penalty when out-of-network inpatient care skips preauthorization.

Aetna is one of several ways treatment is paid for in Mississippi. Listings also show sliding scale rehab options and state funded programs for people between coverage, and since Aetna no longer sells marketplace plans, individual buyers use other insurers. The Aetna Medicare line answers which Medicare plans are sold in a given Mississippi ZIP code.
