Treatment Centers in Mississippi That Accept Humana

Humana covers drug and alcohol rehab in Mississippi through Medicare Advantage plans, such as the 2026 HumanaChoice PPO sold across most of the state, and through TRICARE, which its Humana Military arm administers in the East Region. Humana no longer sells employer health plans and has no Mississippi Medicaid contract.

Each listing on this page shows a facility’s phone number, levels of care and accreditation, based on government treatment registers and Mississippi licensing records. Browse the listings below, filter for inpatient, outpatient, detox or medication treatment, and check that the program works with Medicare Advantage or TRICARE before calling Humana.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Humana Cover Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes, for people on Humana Medicare Advantage or TRICARE. HumanaChoice H5216-136, a 2026 PPO, covers inpatient mental health care and outpatient substance use services in a service area running from Adams to Yazoo counties. For anyone with employer coverage, Humana is not an option: it left employer group medical plans after 2023, so treatment centers in Mississippi bill other insurers.

Humana’s Mississippi presence is mostly Medicare. Humana Medicare plans include HMO, PPO, private fee-for-service and special needs designs nationally, and the company offered Medicare Advantage in 46 states and Washington, D.C., for 2026. Humana is not one of the Mississippi Medicaid health plans; its Medicaid contracts, sold as Humana Healthy Horizons, are in other states.

Does Humana Cover Inpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. HumanaChoice H5216-136 lists inpatient mental health care in a psychiatric hospital, with a per-day copay for the first five days of each admission and none for days six through 90. Medicare Part A, which Humana plans must match, covers Medicare inpatient rehab in a general or psychiatric hospital, so a hospital-based stay is billed as Medicare inpatient care.

How long will Humana pay for an inpatient stay?

Medicare rules set the outer limit. The 2026 HumanaChoice plan covers up to 190 days in a lifetime in a psychiatric hospital, the same lifetime limit Part A applies to freestanding psychiatric hospitals. Within that, hospital addiction treatment is covered while the stay remains medically necessary and the plan’s authorization rules are met.

Does Humana need prior authorization for rehab?

Sometimes. The HumanaChoice summary says the plan requires prior authorization for certain items and services and points to Humana’s published list, so the facility checks before admission. Under TRICARE, Humana Military requires prior authorization for nonemergency inpatient psychiatric and substance use admissions and residential treatment, and reviews intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization concurrently.

Does Humana Cover Detox in Mississippi?

Yes, under both lines. TRICARE covers detoxification, which it calls withdrawal management, along with emergency and nonemergency inpatient substance use services, and Medicare Advantage covers hospital detox as inpatient care. Humana Medicare members ask the plan whether a particular Medicare detox program needs prior authorization, since Humana’s list changes over time.

Does Humana Cover Outpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. The 2026 HumanaChoice plan covers outpatient substance use services and outpatient mental health therapy for a flat in-network copay, the same at an outpatient hospital, a specialist’s office or by telehealth. Out of network the member pays 30% for office or hospital visits, and telehealth is in network only, so Medicare outpatient rehab programs check status first.

Part B, the floor for every Humana Medicare plan, covers outpatient therapy, counseling, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, family counseling and partial hospitalization. TRICARE covers TRICARE IOP programs and partial hospitalization, and TRICARE Prime generally needs no referral or pre-authorization for outpatient mental health visits by non-active-duty beneficiaries, such as spouses and retirees.

Does Humana Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Mississippi?

Yes. Humana Medicare Advantage plan documents list opioid treatment program services as covered, and TRICARE covers medication-assisted treatment, office-based opioid treatment and opioid treatment programs. Part D plans, including Humana’s, must cover antidepressants, anticonvulsants and antipsychotics with limited exceptions, which matters for medications for opioid use alongside other prescriptions a person in recovery may take.

Does Humana cover methadone?

Yes. Methadone for opioid use disorder is delivered through opioid treatment programs, which Humana lists as a covered service on its Medicare Advantage documents and which TRICARE covers. Medicare’s own benefit also pays for counseling and drug testing at Medicare MAT programs enrolled with Medicare, which is the program type Humana plans follow.

Does Humana cover Suboxone?

Yes. Medicare covers buprenorphine for opioid use disorder through opioid treatment programs, and Part D may also cover some of these drugs, subject to each Humana plan’s drug list. TRICARE beneficiaries in Mississippi can use office-based opioid treatment, which brings TRICARE Suboxone treatment into a regular clinic visit rather than a daily dosing program.

Does Humana cover naltrexone?

Yes, through the same channels. Medicare covers naltrexone, alongside methadone and buprenorphine, for opioid use disorder at enrolled opioid treatment programs, and TRICARE’s medication-assisted treatment benefit applies in the East Region. A Humana member asks whether naltrexone treatment programs bill the medical or the drug benefit before starting.

Humana Rehab Centers on the Gulf Coast, in the Pine Belt Forests and by Lakes

Mississippi has no mountains or desert, so the settings worth naming are its Gulf beaches, the pine forests of the south and the reservoirs of the central and northern hills. For Humana Medicare members the question is whether the county sits in the plan’s service area; for TRICARE members it is the East Region network.

Humana rehab on the Gulf Coast

Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties, from Bay St. Louis to Pascagoula, all fall inside the 2026 HumanaChoice H5216-136 service area, as do George and Stone counties just inland. Gulf beach rehab programs near Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi may also see TRICARE patients through Humana Military, which runs a separate authorization process.

Humana rehab near the De Soto National Forest

The De Soto National Forest spreads across Forrest, Perry, Stone, Greene and Wayne counties north of the coast, every one of them in the 2026 HumanaChoice area. Rehabs near national forests in the Pine Belt, including around Camp Shelby south of Hattiesburg, follow the same plan rules and copays as coastal ones.

Humana rehab by lakes

Madison and Rankin counties, which share the Ross Barnett Reservoir, are inside the HumanaChoice service area, as are Panola, Yalobusha and Grenada around the Sardis, Enid and Grenada lakes. Lake-area recovery programs that are out of network still get paid on this PPO, at the higher out-of-network share rather than being refused.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Humana in Mississippi?

Browse the listings on this page. Each one shows the facility’s phone number and levels of care, and filters narrow them by Medicare or TRICARE acceptance, with Medicare rehab listings and TRICARE rehab listings gathered on their own pages. The program then confirms it takes the specific Humana plan.

Admission for Humana Medicare members runs through the plan’s prior authorization rules; members call Humana Medicare Customer Care at 800-457-4708, and people not yet enrolled call 800-833-2364. TRICARE beneficiaries in the East Region call Humana Military at 800-444-5445. The table shows which metro counties the 2026 HumanaChoice H5216-136 plan covers.

Humana rehab in Jackson and the capital counties

Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties are all in the HumanaChoice H5216-136 service area, so a Medicare member in Jackson, Ridgeland or Pearl can use this PPO in or out of network. The plan’s in-network copays apply at Fondren treatment programs and Pearl rehab centers alike, with the higher out-of-network share applying elsewhere.

Humana rehab in Meridian and east Mississippi

Lauderdale County, home to Meridian and Naval Air Station Meridian, is in the 2026 HumanaChoice area, as are Clarke, Newton, Kemper and Neshoba around it. Military families there use TRICARE through Humana Military, and Meridian addiction treatment programs bill whichever Humana line, Medicare or TRICARE, the member’s card shows.

Humana rehab in Oxford and Southaven

Lafayette and DeSoto counties are both in the HumanaChoice H5216-136 area, along with Marshall, Tate, Panola and Tunica in the northwest. Members in Oxford rehab programs or Southaven can use the PPO’s out-of-network benefit, so a program across the state line in Memphis can also be paid at the out-of-network level.

Humana rehab in Tupelo and Columbus

Lee and Lowndes counties are outside the 2026 HumanaChoice H5216-136 area, so Tupelo and Columbus Medicare members ask Humana which of its plans, if any, is sold in their ZIP code. Columbus Air Force Base families use TRICARE, which does not depend on county, at Columbus treatment centers and in Starkville.

Can a Mississippi member use Humana for rehab in another state?

On a PPO, yes, at the out-of-network share: HumanaChoice H5216-136 pays 30% of the cost for out-of-network inpatient and outpatient behavioral care. TRICARE East Region covers 24 states and Washington, D.C., through Humana Military, and Mississippi stayed in the East when six states moved to the West Region on January 1, 2025.

How much does rehab cost with Humana?

Humana Medicare Advantage plans mostly use flat copays per visit and per-day copays for the first days of an inpatient stay, with an annual in-network out-of-pocket maximum. On HumanaChoice H5216-136 in 2026 that means a daily copay for days one to five of a psychiatric stay, then nothing through day 90.

Humana announced 2027 plans in about 2,600 counties across 45 states and Washington, D.C., and some members got exit notices for 2027, so Mississippi members read their Annual Notice of Change each fall. People without Humana coverage can find sliding scale treatment programs and state funded care among the listings here.
