Methamphetamine Rehab Centers in Mississippi

Methamphetamine treatment in Mississippi is listed mostly outside the big cities. Half of the mapped programs that list stimulant care sit in towns and 44 percent in rural areas. They stretch from Byram and Canton near Jackson, north to Oxford and Greenwood, and east to Meridian. Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International is the closest airport for half of them, and the nearest airport sits a median of 19.3 miles away.

RehabSeekers.com builds these listings from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings, and details sent in by the providers themselves. You can compare levels of care, payment options and services here. Then call a program and ask how its staff work with methamphetamine and other stimulant use.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Common questions about Meth Rehab

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Mississippi cities have meth rehabs?

Meth rehab listings in Mississippi cluster in Beechwood, Oxford, Canton, Greenwood and Meridian, in that order. Larger cities nearby include Jackson, Oxford and Vicksburg, so families searching from those areas can compare programs across more than one community, looking at level of care, payment routes and how far the trip from home would be.

Rehab Centers in Oxfordhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/mississippi/oxford-ms/
Can I use Mississippi Medicaid for meth rehab?

Molina Healthcare, Magnolia Health and TrueCare are MississippiCAN plans under Mississippi Medicaid, and a chart revised September 25, 2025 shows behavioral health services covered. Most of the meth rehabs in Mississippi record accepting Mississippi Medicaid.

Coverage runs through whichever plan a member is enrolled in, so confirming that specific plan with admissions staff before intake avoids billing surprises later on.

Rehab Centers in Mississippi That Accept Mississippi Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/mississippi/mississippi-medicaid/
Are there meth rehabs near a river in Mississippi?

Most of the meth rehabs in Mississippi sit within 25 miles of a river, with a median of about 11.2 miles from listed facilities to the nearest river. The most-named rivers near the listed facilities in Mississippi are the Tippah River, Browns Old River and Strong River.

What does treatment for meth use look like in Mississippi?

Treatment for methamphetamine use disorder is mostly counseling and behavioral therapy. It can take place in outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization or residential settings.

Federal research and clinical guidance on stimulants describe several approaches that programs use:

Contingency management gives small rewards, such as vouchers, for drug-free test results. Cognitive behavioral therapy and the community reinforcement approach are also common. The Matrix Model is a structured outpatient program that combines counseling, family education and group work. Peer and family support round out the list.

A clinical assessment decides the level of care, not the drug alone. Many people start in outpatient care or an IOP. Residential care is one option among several, often considered when home is unstable, other conditions are present, or outpatient care hasn’t been enough. The Mississippi Department of Mental Health certifies substance use programs. Regional community mental health centers serve much of the Delta and the rural east.

Level of careWhat it usually involves
OutpatientCounseling or group sessions a few times a week
Intensive outpatient (IOP)Several hours a day, several days a week, living at home
Partial hospitalization (PHP)Day-long programming, home at night
ResidentialLive-in care for days to weeks
Withdrawal managementMonitoring in the first days, often when alcohol or opioids are also used
TelehealthVideo sessions; Mississippi Medicaid counts the member’s home as a telehealth site

Is there a medication for meth addiction?

The FDA has not approved any medication for methamphetamine use disorder. Programs may still prescribe medication for conditions that often come with stimulant use, such as depression, anxiety or trouble sleeping. Mississippi programs that treat mental health and stimulant use together are listed under dual diagnosis rehab.

What happens when someone stops using meth, and when is it an emergency?

Stopping methamphetamine usually brings a crash: deep fatigue, low mood, long sleep and a bigger appetite. Weeks of low energy and cravings can follow. Meth withdrawal does not usually carry the medical risks of alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal. Even so, the low mood can become serious.

Call 911 for any of these:

Chest pain, a very high body temperature, a seizure, or psychosis that puts someone at risk, such as severe paranoia or hearing voices.

For suicidal thoughts, call or text 988. You can also reach the national treatment referral line at 1-800-662-4357 or the Mississippi Department of Mental Health Helpline at 1-877-210-8513. Both answer around the clock.

Opioids, alcohol and fentanyl

Using meth with opioids or alcohol changes the risks. Withdrawal from those substances can need medical care, so tell intake staff about everything you use.

Fentanyl has been found mixed into stimulants sold as meth. A statewide standing order from the State Health Officer lets Mississippi pharmacists dispense naloxone to anyone, regardless of age.

Mississippi’s Good Samaritan law also protects people who call for help. If you seek medical help in good faith for someone who is overdosing, you can’t be arrested, charged or prosecuted for a drug violation.

Programs that handle both stimulant and opioid use are listed under opioid rehab in Mississippi.

Do programs in Mississippi offer contingency management?

Some Mississippi programs may offer contingency management, but listings don’t always say so. The surest way to know is to ask. Useful questions include whether the program rewards negative tests, uses the Matrix Model, or runs a group just for stimulant use.

We found no published Mississippi Medicaid or state grant rule that names contingency management as a paid service. The opioid response and settlement grants run by the Department of Mental Health focus on opioid treatment and recovery supports.

Three in four listed stimulant programs sit within 25 miles of a river, a median of 11.2 miles away. The Tippah, Strong and Browns Old rivers are named most often. Thacker Mountain and the Bienville National Forest are among the named landmarks near some listings.

Listings also show accreditation, languages spoken and the groups a program serves, such as women, veterans or teens.

How do I pay for meth treatment in Mississippi?

Mississippi Medicaid, run by the Division of Medicaid, covers behavioral health services. Many members get care through MississippiCAN plans: Magnolia Health, Molina Healthcare and TrueCare.

Mississippi has not adopted the federal adult Medicaid expansion. As a result, many working-age adults don’t qualify unless they fall into a covered group, such as pregnant women or people with a disability. Payment details are on the Medicaid rehab page.

State-funded treatment is run by the Department of Mental Health’s Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Services, which publishes a directory of alcohol and drug services. Programs offering this route are listed under state-funded rehab in Mississippi.
