Treatment Centers in Mississippi That Accept Cigna

Cigna Healthcare pays for drug and alcohol rehab in Mississippi through employer plans and, for 2026 only, through Cigna Connect individual and family plans sold in selected counties. Evernorth Behavioral Health, Cigna’s sister company, manages the behavioral health benefit, including authorization for inpatient and residential treatment.

For every program listed here you will see a phone number, the levels of care offered and any accreditation, all drawn from government treatment registers and Mississippi licensing records. Browse them below, filter by detox, residential, outpatient or medication treatment, and use the Cigna card’s behavioral health number to check network status before admission.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Cigna Cover Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. Cigna Healthcare covers inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment with follow-up case management on its employer plans, and its 2026 Connect individual plans list inpatient mental health and substance use care as a covered benefit. In Mississippi, both lines reach addiction treatment in Mississippi through the Evernorth behavioral network.

Cigna’s Mississippi coverage comes in two forms. Employers buy or self-fund Cigna Healthcare plans, and individuals in selected counties could buy Connect plans for 2026, a line Cigna is ending after December 2026. Cigna no longer sells Medicare Advantage, which became HealthSpring in 2026, and it is not among the MississippiCAN Medicaid plans.

Does Cigna Cover Inpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. Evernorth Behavioral Health’s authorization grid covers substance use inpatient rehabilitation, dual diagnosis inpatient care and residential treatment, and every one of them needs authorization first. Cigna’s own treatment guide describes inpatient rehab care after detox and inpatient residential stays as distinct levels within its substance use benefit, each with its own authorization request.

How long does Cigna cover a residential stay?

Cigna decides the length of each covered stay through authorization and review rather than a set day count. Evernorth uses The ASAM Criteria for substance use medical necessity, so a stay at residential addiction programs continues while the assessment supports that level, and the facility updates the reviewer as treatment goes on.

Does Cigna need prior authorization for rehab?

Yes, for inpatient care, inpatient detox and residential treatment. Authorization starts with a face-to-face assessment by the facility, whose staff then send clinical information to the number on the back of the ID card. One Tennessee small-group Cigna document from 2025 requires pre-authorization on every inpatient admission, a neighboring-state example rather than a Mississippi rule.

Does Cigna Cover Detox in Mississippi?

Yes. Cigna describes two detox levels: ambulatory detox, and inpatient detox with 24-hour medical care. Evernorth lists ambulatory detoxification among services that need no authorization, while inpatient detoxification at medical detox with insurance requires it, so the program calls Evernorth before admission whenever an overnight medical stay is planned.

Does Cigna Cover Outpatient Rehab in Mississippi?

Yes. Outpatient psychotherapy, family and group therapy, diagnostic evaluations and medication management visits need no authorization under Evernorth’s grid. Cigna’s network includes psychologists, family therapists, social workers, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists and addiction medicine doctors, so outpatient counseling programs can usually start with a phone call and an intake appointment.

Cigna describes IOP rehab with insurance as three to five days a week, three to four hours a day, and partial hospitalization as five to seven days a week, six to eight hours a day. Whether either needs authorization is a question the facility puts to Evernorth, because the answer depends on the customer’s plan.

Does Cigna Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Mississippi?

Yes. Cigna’s Standard 3-Tier drug list places generic buprenorphine-naloxone and acamprosate on Tier 1, Zubsolv and Lucemyra on Tier 2, and brand Suboxone on Tier 3, with pharmacy run by Express Scripts. Employer plans can choose other lists, so buprenorphine programs with insurance check the plan’s own formulary and any quantity limit before the first fill.

Does Cigna cover Suboxone?

Yes. Generic buprenorphine-naloxone sits on Tier 1 with no prior authorization flag on the Standard list, and Evernorth lists Suboxone induction as an outpatient service that needs no authorization. Cigna ended prior authorization for buprenorphine medications on commercial plans in October 2016, and Suboxone treatment programs still bill each plan’s tier.

Does Cigna cover methadone?

Yes. Methadone given as a provider-administered outpatient service appears on Evernorth’s grid as covered without authorization, and Cigna’s employer programs include opioid disorder management and narcotics therapy management. Methadone maintenance programs bill the member’s medical benefit, so the deductible and coinsurance follow that plan’s design, as with other outpatient care.

Does Cigna cover Vivitrol and alcohol use medications?

Yes. Acamprosate sits on Tier 1 of Cigna’s Standard 3-Tier list, and Vivitrol and naltrexone kept their places on Cigna’s 2026 drug list with no changes. Brand Narcan moved to Tier 3 from July 1, 2026, with generic naloxone named as the lower-cost choice, and Vivitrol programs with insurance confirm the tier.

Cigna Rehab Centers on the Gulf Coast, Near National Forests and by Rivers

Mississippi has no mountains or deserts, but Cigna members can look at programs near the Gulf of Mexico, in the state’s national forests or along its rivers. On a Connect plan the county matters, because Cigna sold individual plans only in listed counties for 2026; on an employer plan, the network on the card applies anywhere.

Cigna rehab on the Gulf Coast

Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties, home to Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi and Pascagoula, were all in Cigna’s 2026 individual plan area, along with George and Stone counties inland. Coastal rehab centers accept Connect plans only in network, since those plans pay for out-of-network care only in an emergency, wherever the program sits.

Cigna rehab near the De Soto and Tombigbee forests

Forrest, Perry, Stone and Greene counties surround the De Soto National Forest, and all four were Cigna individual plan counties for 2026. In the northeast, the Tombigbee National Forest lies near Chickasaw and Pontotoc counties, also on the list. Forest-area treatment programs use the same Evernorth authorization rules as city programs.

Cigna rehab along the Mississippi and Pearl rivers

Warren County, where Vicksburg sits on the Mississippi River, was a 2026 Cigna individual plan county, as were Hinds, Rankin and Madison along the Pearl River. Adams County at Natchez and Washington County at Greenville were not, so riverside rehab programs there take Cigna only through employer coverage, not through a Connect plan.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Cigna in Mississippi?

Browse the listings on this page. Each one carries the facility’s phone number, levels of care and accreditation, and the program can tell a caller whether it contracts with Evernorth Behavioral Health, the network Cigna members use for behavioral care. For members who want to compare, a separate page lists Evernorth behavioral health providers.

Admission for inpatient, detox and residential care then runs through authorization. The facility assesses the person and calls the number on the card, or the member can call Cigna’s behavioral health benefits line, 1 (800) 433-5768, open 24 hours. Existing individual plan customers use 1 (877) 484-5966. The table shows 2026 Connect counties by metro.

Cigna rehab in Jackson and the metro counties

Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties were all in Cigna’s 2026 individual plan area, so a Jackson, Ridgeland or Brandon resident could hold either a Connect plan or employer coverage. Connect plans include MDLIVE’s virtual behavioral network, and rehab programs in Jackson and Brandon addiction services say whether they are in the Evernorth network.

Cigna rehab in Gulfport, Biloxi and Pascagoula

Coastal Connect members were limited to network programs, because Cigna’s individual plans do not cover out-of-network services except emergencies. Outpatient mental health and substance use visits on those plans are usually a copay with the deductible waived, while inpatient care uses coinsurance after the deductible at Biloxi rehab facilities and nearby programs.

Cigna rehab in Tupelo and Columbus

Lee and Lowndes counties were 2026 Connect counties, as were Itawamba, Monroe, Pontotoc and Union around them. Employers in northeast Mississippi that use Trustmark’s small-business plans may run on the Cigna PPO network, so Tupelo treatment centers and Columbus rehab options check which network the member’s card names before an intake date is set.

Cigna rehab in Oxford, Meridian and areas without Connect plans

Lafayette, Lauderdale and Oktibbeha counties were not in Cigna’s 2026 individual plan area, so Cigna members in Oxford, Meridian or Starkville hold employer coverage. Allegiance Benefit Plan Management, a Cigna subsidiary, also administers self-funded employer plans in Mississippi, and Oxford recovery programs bill whichever Cigna or Allegiance plan the card shows.

Can a Mississippi member use Cigna for rehab in another state?

On most employer plans, yes. Open Access Plus and PPO plans use Cigna’s large national network and include out-of-network coverage, while SureFit plans do not cover out-of-network care. Connect individual plans pay out-of-network only for emergencies, so a Mississippi Connect member traveling to a Memphis or Mobile program needs that program in network.

How much does rehab cost with Cigna?

Cigna employer plans have no separate behavioral health deductible; the medical deductible applies. Across Cigna plan documents, outpatient therapy visits usually carry a flat copay outside the deductible, while inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and IOP care fall under coinsurance after the deductible. Exact amounts depend on the plan and metal tier.

Cigna announced on April 30, 2026 that it will not offer individual and family medical plans for 2027, and members qualify for a special enrollment period to choose new coverage. Employer coverage continues. For people between plans, listings also show sliding scale outpatient rehab and state funded programs in Mississippi.
