It’s was ok but hold people against her will shouldn’t be aloud if someone asks to go home they should be aloud but other then it was great
At first it was little Rocky with talking to nurse about my daughter but they helped her a lot k am thankful there is place for kids with mental health issues
If you're suicidal or in need of help worst place possible for professional help. Their egos are more important.
Genuinely the best facility ive EVER stayed at. Staff were always so calm and caring
I feel a lot better now, thank you. Miss Jackie was my fav
Sub Standard care
It was very eye opening and gave me a new outlook on how to handle my depression and problems. The staff and medical, and professional employees were excellent.
If you are a parent that loves your child and wants them to get better, do not send your child here. I was admitted here 2 years ago in a unit for 4 months, and to this day I am recovering from unprocessed trauma that… was kindly given to me during my stay here. Larinda, the unit manager, had 0 empathy for me and the other children there who were abused and neglected before admitted there and therefore their behaviors were different from her absolutely absurd “standards” for how teenage girls ages 12-17 should act. Even as I recovered throughout my stay, there was not a night where I didn’t pray to not wake up the next morning. Being there as a child because of circumstances a million miles out of my control and feeling like I’m being punished everyday felt like being in the the deepest pits of hell. I beg you, don’t send your child here.
Please do not send your child here, Lincoln trail should be shut down. I was seventeen when I was told from my CDW worker that the louts program was a two month stay, it was four. It may not seem like a long time, but… it is when you are treated so poorly. Yes some of the staff had good hearts, and made it livable but overall it made things much worse for me. soon as you walk in you get a book of rules thrown at you, biggest one that stood out to me was you couldn’t speak. and i honestly just couldn’t believe that they could have that much control over me. followed by much worse rules. the whole stay will be traumatic for any young girl. At seventeen i watched a girl break a marker and try and stab her self in the neck in front of eleven other girls in the group room. please do not send your loved ones here. believe it.
Staff were awesome! I was very happy and blessed to have the care and support I did. The little things that were done for my care was such a blessing. I am forever grateful for there help and support during a very scary… and difficult situation. Thank them all so very much!
If this place wanted to help they would. But all they want is money. A friend was there everything was good..as soon as they release her, no longer would do anything and because they didn't give her a release to work… note she lost her job..its all about money and they don't care what they cost you..never go to this place
My experience at Lincoln Trail was truly the most traumatic thing I’ve ever been through in my life. There was 2 units, a kids unit and an adult unit. There was no separation by severity of mental health. We were forced… to be around people who were livid screaming and cussing at themselves 24/7. There was no where to go to escape the chaos and traumatic things you’d see around you, especially since they would lock you out of your room for 6 hours a day you were forced to face everything with no support but them trying to medicate you to calm down. I have never experienced the kind of anxiety and panic that I had there. I had a 6 hour panic attack on my second day that no one could calm me down from. I was practically on my knees begging to go home since the day I got there. I feared for my own safety, there were people who were clearly out of their minds and threatening to stab people. I wasn’t able to eat anything my second day there. Not to mention the fact that they refused to give me the medicine I had been on for months and started experiencing withdrawal. I can safely say I left that place one million times worse than when I got there. I now need additional help and therapy from the trauma I experienced, and have talked to others there who have said the same. I’m no longer comfortable for asking for help even when I really need it out of fear of going back there. Me and my physiatrist have talked about the possibility of starting a legal investigation on how they’re running things. If I can take away one thing it’s to hopefully prevent anyone else from having to experience the same thing I did.
They have helped my daughter with resources for therapy and coping skills. All staff have been sincere and kind. My daughter felt comfortable during her stay.
was treated well, with dignity and respect. My opinions were included in my treatment plan. Additional resources were offered. The staff was knowledgeable and supportive. I would recommend to family and friends.

Ok, I'm here for all the other parents who are nervous about placing their children in one of these facilities. I just want to say, my daughter came home so much happier than when she left! The therapist was awesome and… just there for everyone involved. My daughter (who's shy and autistic) actually did well and felt safe here. I just want to reassure any parent that this is a good place for your child. THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF MY DAUGHTER! AND HELPING US!!
Been here 6 time in the adolescence girls unit mags for things ranging from SI to self harm to eating disorders some staff was kind and others well… nurse Peggy when I was there was rude refused as needed meds when… needed and when I complained that my self inflicted injuries might have been getting infected I sat at the nurses station for about two hours before being told to go to bed without them ever being looked at or anything but some staff went above and beyond miss amanda was an absolute god send all in all I would find another place but if your in a tuff spot this place is not so bad definitely got me out of a few tuff spots
I was at this place for 4 months. And I wanted to say that there was good and bad. Im going to touch on the bad first the unit manager was disrespectful and some felt like she had favorites. The level system wasn't very… good either, you would have a lot of peaurse on it and it was very overwhelming for a child with mental health because of the expectations. The staff were very disrespectful and they would talk about other staff and peers in a negative way in front of the children on the unit. Some of the therapy groups felt like they were just trying to start drama but most of them were decent and I got a message out of it. I think the groups were good and they do a good job explaining and teaching DBT skills. And the food was REALLY good (most of it) they did do a good job on holidays. By making us happy knowing we werent home. I feel like this place mainly helped me with my behavior problems and not really my mental health. I do not recommend this place personally but if you go it might be good it is different for everyone just like any hospital.
If you're military and genuinely need behavioral health support, this was not a good experience for me. During my stay, therapy felt extremely limited. Individual sessions with therapists were often only a couple of… minutes, psychiatrist visits felt rushed, and many psychotherapy groups were led by nurses instead of licensed therapists. The nurses did seem to care, but overall the program felt more focused on processing patients quickly than providing meaningful treatment. For a mandatory two-week stay, Tricare was billed around $32,000, yet the conditions felt closer to a low-budget hotel experience. The beds were uncomfortable, the food was poor, and there was very little actual therapeutic engagement outside of basic group activities. The arts and crafts were honestly one of the few positive parts. One thing that stood out to me was how little patients felt heard during the intake and treatment process. Once admitted, it felt like your concerns and opinions carried very little weight. My personal experience was that medication management seemed prioritized over genuine therapy and long-term coping strategies. If you’re military and looking for help, I strongly encourage researching all available options and support groups before committing to this facility. This was my personal experience, and others may feel differently.
I was in and out of this place since I was 10 to 14, this place was like a safe haven for me. Away from my awful mom who always played the “victim” act but the staff that were there back then, I will forever remember… them. They did so much for me, I can’t count how many times I’ve been there, and they always cared. Especially a staff member named Amy, and a nurse named Mrs Mary’s but this was years ago back in the 2010s
Opaque policies, failed to meet an agreement. Confiscation of personal property. Also you don't get help with your major issues here. Just cookie cutter classes about general well being. Highly recommend you choose… another facility.
Caring staff, took good care of my granddaughter.
All the staff here treat me like I was family from the time I walked into the day I was discharged I did have an incident where I got attacked but it was taken care of right away I would definitely recommend this place… for anybody having mental issue
I just left here about 7 hours ago. The staff on 2 East were Amazing. They were at a very high census 28 and I NEVER felt rushed when talking with a nurse, mental health technician or floor manager. The only thing that… I can think of that needs to be addressed is updating the facility.
I have heard nothing but good things about LTBHS. I don’t have first-hand experience but I have friends who have told me how good they were treated while there. If you go or know someone going, tell them to find the… tech Emily W, she’s a great person to have around!
My wife came out worse than she was before she went in. Cannot believe she was discharged without further treatment!!!
