Care has gone downhill so much since 2025. This used to be the best VA system. Every complaint i ever heard about the VA never applied to this VA. Now I've had 5 PCM's in the last year, I've only met one. My… appointments, that I wait months for, are canceled day of because the person left and no one bothers to tell you beforehand, so you have to reschedule, wait more months, get canceled day of, reschedule wait more months, get canceled, reschedule, rinse and repeat. Every treatment i used to get at the facility is now on the economy and with it, dealing with the American Healthcare System, when it used to just be centralized. If you need something, Downtown tells you to go to Uptown. Uptown tells you to go to Downtown. If you get upset over this, YOU'RE problem and get treated as such. Its a shame we treat our veterans like this. I don't even care about me. There are people that are way worse off than me navigating this BS that deserve better than this.
Went to try and get a walker fixed for my friend went into the prosthetic dept bc thts where he sent me. There was a middle aged black man at the desk on a lengthy personal phone call. He made me wait while he continued… convo.. he was very unprofessional… VA do better about who you hire…
SUCKS! Go anywhere else if you can.
Would not recommend. Does not act with any type of urgency when it comes to a critically ill patient. Stay away!!! Take your loved ones to a different facility!!!
No one really loves going to the dentist. Amber and Dr. Pugh were amazing. They were fast, thorough, and very pleasant. I look forward to seeing them again
Amazing staff. Yes, they are over worked and short staffed (thanks to that stupid Elon). But you can visibly see the effort they put in every day. Getting appointed can take time, because they are short staffed. Once… you get rolling with a department, you are good to go. It’s a matter of them starting you in their system that takes time, as it is with most government agencies. The people are the friendly and professional, even to vets that show up and are clearly intoxicated (that was a sight).
I would like to express my deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Brenda (Shari) Williams, VA Nurse Navigator for Pain Management, and Lisa Parker, VA Nurse Practitioner and Lead for Pain Management, for the… extraordinary care, dedication, and persistence they showed on my behalf. As well as, Ryan Kalkbrenner, who introduced them to “Walkasins”! They truly went above and beyond every expectation. When others may have stopped trying, they refused to give up on a veteran who desperately needed help. Because of severe Peripheral Neuropathy, I had lost the ability to properly feel my feet, which caused me to experience many falls over the past five years. Through their determination, compassion, and willingness to go through every possible avenue, they “cracked the code” and helped me obtain “Walkasins”. Thanks to their efforts, I can now feel my feet as I walk. The improvement has been nothing short of life-changing. This has truly been a miracle and an incredible blessing. Their commitment to helping veterans, their professionalism, and their genuine compassion are an inspiration. Brenda (Shari) Williams and Lisa Parker exemplify the very best of the VA, and I will always be grateful for the difference they have made in my life. Please recognize them for their outstanding service and unwavering dedication to all of our veterans. They have made a profound impact on my safety, independence, and quality of life.
The VA hospitals and clinics are above par. I would rather be seen by the VA than a private practice firm.
Charlie Norwood VA has for the last 11 years taking great care of me
I am disappointed with my experience at the VA. On two separate occasions I received another patients medical information including lab and mammogram results. This is a serious privacy concern and raises questions about… how patient records are being handled. Veterans deserve better.
Very helpful staff, interactions are always pleasent
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I would like to recognize Anna from VA Nurse Team B for the exceptional care and assistance she provided. Anna went above and beyond to help us secure an earlier Primary Care appointment for my husband so he could… be evaluated for Walkasins due to his severe neuropathy. She listened to our concerns, understood the urgency of the situation, and worked diligently to help expedite his care. My husband is 100% Disabled and he continues to trip over his feet and experiences frequent falls, making timely evaluation and treatment extremely important. Anna’s compassion, professionalism, and willingness to advocate for him made a significant difference during a stressful time. We are very grateful for her dedication and outstanding service. She is a true asset to the VA team! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 service!!
You can tell no one is worried about losing their jobs anymore. The VA is back to it's old self. All I've seen is staff and employees standing in the hallways talking. I've seen several waiting rooms with people in them… just waiting and the people they are waiting for just talking about the weekend. I just watched it happen. The labs still don't care if they are quick and efficient or slow and carefree. When you don't have to worry about losing your job no matter what you do, or do not do, then there's no motivation to get things done. Pretty heartbreaking. I'm not saying all of the VA hospital, but if everyone from the top to the bottom wasn't buddy buddy, then maybe someone would actually have consequences for their actions or inactions. Maybe the managers can step out of their offices or stop chatting with their friends and start managing.
I've been treated very well at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. They are extremely kind, thoughtful and professional. In fact, they seem much more concerned about the vets' well being than most of the Healthcare… providers I've been to through community care. I've had five major surgeries there and I couldn't be more pleased with the care and respect and outcomes I've gotten there.
2nd interaction with VA. Still not satisfied. No excuses for concerns. Process is slooooow. Can't deal with it and won't. I hope not to have to be subjected to VA hospital again.
My rating is actually 0 (zero) stars. Absolutely by far the WORST V.A. Health Care facility, including the Downtown division as well, that I haev ever been to. You are talked down to and treated with no dignity or… respect at all, unless you are "friends" with that staff member; I currently am registered in TN which has ALWAYS been repsectful to me and actually talks to me like I am a human being and listens to what I am saying and describing. The Augusta V.A. system just recently took 30+ days to electronically send a request for Services to my PCP, which resulted in a gap in treatment. That is just for starters, the entire Georgia V.A. health care system needs a full and thorough overhaul. You need people who see Vets as people and not just another time slot/number on a sheet of paper.
Visiting Veterans from Maine. Unless you’re being seen in the ED you will need to be added to the local VA system and you will need a referral from your PCP. Disappointed that our records are not readily accessible so… we could make an appointment to see an audiologist for a problem with my hearing aids. The appointment wait time is several weeks and there is not a hearing aid clinic for quick fix for issues.
WHOEVER IS PUTTING 5 STARTS IS LYING only leaving one star because you cannot leave 0 i was put on hold for and hour and 30 mins just to be disconnected and whoever is at the front desk has HORRIBLE phone customer… service
They don’t help veterans. They don’t give veterans proper treatment for ptsd. Long wait times.
First visit, a 9:30 appt. Arrived at 8:50, found a parking spot no problem! Went inside and asked the receptionist where I need to go , she pointed me in the right direction.upon reaching the clinic I checked in with… the receptionist, sat down and was called back at 9:20, ten minutes early!! Was examined by a Nurse named Brenda, super nice, professional and knowledgeable, then sent back to see the doctor, she examined me and set up all future appointments and meds needed, blood work done right there on site.reading some of the negative comments in the reviews had me concerned, but today I give all involved my sincere thanks and a perfect review....
Very good with Veterans
No wait for my visit. My clinic was on schedule. Recieved the good service that I normally receive here.
I love going to this VA the ppl there are very nice
I was called to reschedule an Endocrinologist appointment from Nov to Jan. Thankfully I spoke with Mr. Glover in the 4D clinic. His professionalism was unmatched. I've been a patient for over 7 years and have NEVER… spoke with someone with this most kindness and patience. Mr. Glover needs to give a customer service call to all who answers the telephone. I'm so thankful to have spoken with him. Again, thank you Mr. Glover.
