About CHD – West Springfield

CHD is located at 246 Park Street in West Springfield, within 4.3 miles of Agawam and Springfield. Agawam, Springfield, Longmeadow and Chicopee all sit within 7 miles of the door. West Springfield sits in Hampden County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

The facility runs intensive outpatient and outpatient care. CHD is federally registered and licensed by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Buprenorphine, methadone or naltrexone can be prescribed alongside therapy. Substance use and mental health are treated together rather than in sequence. Video appointments are an option here. Trauma-focused work forms part of the approach.

this place is HORRIBLE! they make people in CRISIS wait instead of helping them solve the problem and they make you wait for your prescription when you need it!! i’m so done once i find a new place im gone i never had… to deal with this they make you feel like your a problem instead of helping you feel like your not the problem!! how can they even be in a mental health flaccidity!!

This location is absolutely terrible at medication refills. Every month I have to call at least twice to get a refill sent to the pharmacy. The desk clerks seem to have an issue with getting notes to the nurses who push… the refills. This month- we waited 7 business days only to be told the first request "must have been forgotten" and was never even sent. Dont even bother with the answering service dedicated to refills as it apparently "isnt always monitored." This is the only clinic Ive ever had issues with. Terrible customer service.

They screwed my boyfriend over and then the one worker tried telling me to go to ymca and tell them my boyfriend was beating on me to get into a place to live. This program isnt no type of help at all.

Really enjoyed my provider but the communication of this company (not just this location) is horrific. It was continuously difficult to get necessary prescriptions and the needed care throughout my time here. It felt… dangerous how they operated. I would seek other options and come here only as a last resort. Again my provider was wonderful that is the only reason it’s not 1 star.

Back in December, Christina calabrese my therapist told me she was going on another leave. This time it was 12 weeks she was going to let me know when the time was closer. On February 11th, at 2:14pm she said "oh I… forgot to tell you, this is our last appointment til I come back, I'm starting my 12 week leave". I said "ok" I said "who will reach out to me so we can continue therapy"? She said "most likely CHD because they will know before I do if I'm coming back or not" I said "ok" no one ever mentioned about a temp therapist til then and what she said didn't seem right. On Feb 17th, I went in to talk with them because something wasn't right. I was told that I was dumped by my therapist and that is there a 6 month to a year wait. NO ONE TOLD ME ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. I found out by asking. According to Christina calabrie's boss, she said the primary care doctor's office Amber and Amanda were training me on how to handle transitioning into a new therapist and that was never true and they said that Christina calabrese was talking to me every therapy session about transitioning into new therapy and that was not true. So I filed a complaint with headquarters in Springfield, It seems like they are all covering up for one another and covering up the lies that are being told. Then they had me section 12 because I refuse to take my pills that had to do with my tourette's my high blood pressure. Would there were thoughts of harm just thoughts no action Christina has absolutely done nothing about getting extra help or support. This is not a therapist and a therapy place that anybody should be dealing with. And then I have pulled my records on some of the summaries that she writes about our sessions and a lot of what she puts in there is untrue and I brought that to her boss and her boss says she's allowed to say whatever she wants if it's true or not. And then I was called a liar by the story that I'm sticking to. CHD headquarters in Springfield has absolutely done nothing they say they've done an investigation but I think there's also a cover-up there. The mental health and CHD is a broken system and a broken place. I think investigations by the state or whoever should be taking on what's going on and how CHD is treating their clients. It just a fair warning Don't do your primary care doctor at CHD where you go for therapy because they all talk about you behind your back there is definitely HIPAA laws that I see that are broken. Having your therapist and your doctor's office in the same building should be conflict of interest and should be part of HIPAA violation. I will still continue to do my due diligence to not let this go cuz I want justice for what was done to me and all the lies that are being told The state needs to know that there is a cover up. Also they wanted me to come in every week for high blood pressure checks where my blood pressure was under control but they just wanted extra income so they used me and my blood pressure just to get the extra money a week so I was going there twice a week one for therapy and one full blood pressure check. Absolutely unacceptable that the insurance was paying for these appointments for nothing. Also when I stated to the old lady that runs CHD on why is my therapy sessions being shared with people and she says well we can do what we want. Be careful of the woman who runs the place.

The prescriber is good. The prescription refill process is long and involved and always takes forever. It's never just a quick phone call. The service is somewhat insulting. There are data breeches. This makes the… entire experience unpleasant and unproductive. Yuck. Go somewhere else, if you can.
