About Community Medical Services – Fargo

Community Medical Services operates from 901 28th Street South in Fargo. The site sits in Cass County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Briarwood, Frontier and North River. North Dakota draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, an opioid treatment program and telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Community Medical Services

Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and methadone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

I couldn't be more grateful for the services they offer and even moreso for the staff. They all show how much they care and make you feel comfortable to talk with them about your struggles. Especially the manager Morgan… ;) Thanks CMS!

I have gone to the methadone clinic twice now— twice because of a relapse. The staff there is wonderful they will be there to help you, but they won't carry you the whole way you have to want it as well. The building is… a good location for its purposes. I hope people who need it will take it in consideration.

I have been to a few treatment centers in my life, but CMS has the best employees, counselors, nurses I have ever known. They become friends and guides in a situation that can be scary and incredibly hard The ACTUALLY… care about your wellbeing. This is the best place in North Dakota to recieve help for drug addiction. The best. The people work here are so empathetic, and they care about your whole life.

I've been with CMS for over a year now and have had no problems with any of the Employees or the services they provide, they have went above and beyond any other M.A.T program i have worked with to assist me in my time… of need, especially today Morgan and Lexi came in clutch. Patty, Wendy, honestly every employee there deserves a shout out. I just dont remember everyones names at this time. If i could give more than 5 stars i would :) I would Highly Recommend anyone struggling at the moment in need of MAT Sevices to give them a call. 10/10

This place definitely allows you to get your life on track and hold down a job. As far as the medication itself, I have nothing but positive feedback except for a few minor side effects. The issue for most is the… service. It’s not so client friendly anymore. They are also having staffing issues so be prepared to change up your morning schedule. They have made me miss my bus to work plenty of times in the morning when I left myself plenty of leeway as far as time is concerned. I also think that they would greatly benefit from opening a second location in South Moorehead, just my opinion.

This place was actually helpful to me but some of the staff are very rude and have no compassion. I was only 1 minute late to get my weekend dose and they pushed me away causing me to cry and have a mental breakdown. As… I had to get a ride to even get there. They only care about their salaries.

Very judgemental staff, they all gossip about patients and one staff member is even addicted to the same drugs they try to treat. Very unprofessional

My boyfriend and my other roommate go to CMS every morning. I have heard nothing about bad things about this place when he comes home in the morning or I see him in the afternoon. Some of the staff there are rude and… not understanding whatsoever. They lack in getting back to people about questions. They are unorganized and quite frankly unprofessional. Sometimes it sounds like they have no idea what they are doing and are only there to collect a paycheck. The things they tell their patients in meeting is completely out of line and disrespectful. I am going to be so happy when they both don’t have to go to CMS anymore!

I have been to 4 other clinics because we move around a whole lot and this is my favorite one by far. I’ve only been to one I didn’t like & I left the same week and found another place. The nurse practitioner is very… professional and down to earth. She made me feel at ease. My counselor is wonderful and down to earth as well. Then there is another counselor that you can meet up with anytime she’s free. She is the sweetest. She does arts and crafts and whatever you wanna do to help you feel better. I was surprised in a great way,l, that’s a great idea! Then the last person you go to at the end of intake is so so sweet and helpful. They didn’t take long to do my intake either. They do not make you feel judged & that’s very important when you go through this, the last thing you need is to get pushed away from people who say theyre there to help you. It’s a nice clean place also. Very friendly staff and nurses. Love it!

I been going here over a year and i went from 145mgs of methadone to 112 as we speak. I am going down with the help if the staff that are WONDERFUL! Misty is an angel. The nurses are sweet and caring and Wendy is so… funny and understanding and awesome! The people there are very sweet and caring! I have had no problems except for the restrooms They are so nasty and need to be cleaned daily! Also we need to control the long lines and waiting out in the cold for 20 min on Saturdays! Ticket taker? Or something to keep it under control please!
