Social Treatment Opportunity Programs – Tacoma Address, Location and Contact Information
The facility address is 4301 South Pine Street, Tacoma, Washington, 98409. The city lies within Pierce County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

Social Treatment Opportunity Programs – Tacoma Reviews and Ratings
Reviews of Social Treatment Opportunity Programs help in two directions. Reading them helps you prepare questions for the admissions team, and writing one, if you have been a patient, helps the next family prepare theirs.
I’m posting this review in hopes that the owner or someone in upper management will contact me regarding a recent interaction I had with one of the counselors in this program. I asked for clarification about the “giving… back” portion of my DV counseling assignment because the written instructions I was provided did not state that the activity had to be unpaid volunteer work. Instead of simply clarifying the requirement, the conversation became unnecessarily defensive and escalated to comments about whether I was “making progress” in the program. I was also told, “I’m trying to be nice,” during an exchange where I was simply asking questions about requirements that I could not find anywhere in the written materials. What concerns me even more is that the communication style used toward me felt inconsistent with what we are actually being taught in this program about healthy communication, managing conflict, and responding appropriately when there is disagreement or frustration. It was surprising to experience communication from a counselor that, in my opinion, reflected some of the exact types of responses we are being taught to avoid. As someone participating in a court-related DV program, I believe I should be able to respectfully ask questions about assignments and expectations without having my overall progress called into question because I asked for clarification. I have screenshots of the entire exchange and am including them because I think the context speaks for itself. My concern is not that I was given an answer I disagreed with — it is the manner in which my questions were handled, the escalation in tone, and the decision to bring my overall progress in the program into the conversation. I have already attempted to contact a supervisor regarding this. I would really appreciate it if the owner or someone in upper management could reach out to me directly so this interaction can be reviewed.
I wanted to give thanks for this program and especially my counselor Leanna W. She has been very understanding with no judgement. Leanna takes the time to listen and gives great feedback. She tells us that we can call… her if we’re in need of someone to talk to. She’s a great counselor and I really enjoy coming to her class I know that she truly cares about her clients
Counselor Stephanie Brooks is the most amazing counselor that I’ve ever had at a program. Have a wonderful day.
I paid $150 for online class. I join meeting on zoom but I didn’t anybody there. I called them and they keep transfer me to another line. I can’t take the class and lost my money.
Absolutely the worst state funded agency I have ever seen. They do not care about men. I understand there are situations where women are mistreated. However in this state of Washington it seems no matter circumstances… the man is always wrong. Stop definitively makes you feel that way. If you are getting divorced, or being accused by some crazy woman make sure you do not sign on for any dv class!!!! Please find somewhere else to go
While dealing with the chaos and paying for the mistakes I've made, having a counselor like Pam who is easy to come to and understanding of each and everyone's situation makes being in treatment easier to want to come… to and stay on top of my responsibilities and expectations.
Love Pam! If you follow the rules and do what you need to do- staying compliant. She is the sweetest! She’s to the point and treats all her clients like responsible adults. Love that about her! Actually all the staff at… Tacoma Stop are amazing!! Thanks guys!
This place is really helpful! They a lot of programs and classes. Their scheduling I feel like works with everyone schedules.
Really great place to go if you have a DUI, very friendly and easy to get along with councilors.
Mrs. Pam is great in every way! And the front office staff is fantastic too!!
Great sessions n great counselors
I came to S.T.O.P in Tacoma on my own while dealing with pending legal issues (which were later dropped). My experience raised several concerns. They were able to schedule me very quickly compared to other places I… contacted, which initially seemed helpful but later felt like a red flag. When I arrived, I was made to wait while another person repeatedly cut ahead of me and had a prolonged personal conversation with the front desk staff. Despite acknowledging my wait, the staff continued the conversation before assisting me. I was charged $50 just to receive paperwork, which was difficult to complete comfortably due to the limited space in the office. I then paid $150 for the assessment, which I completed on February 13th. I was told results would take up to three weeks, still haven't received results to my email like I requested 4-8 During the assessment, I felt pressured and uncomfortable, and the interaction felt more like being pushed to admit fault rather than being evaluated in a neutral, professional manner. Leaving my assessment i was recommended two more classes that cost money, which i thought was helpful and cool. But now I think it was just predatory and unprofessional, if that same person never sent me the eval they did on me.!
Pam was very rude and had a disgusting attitude on the phone. I had VIP class paid for, the day before and asked to do zoom and called today because there was no host and was told they weren’t informed. It’s the staff… jobs to communicate effectively. It shouldn’t be my job to figure out why I was misinformed. Getting a refund ASAP. Don’t recommend.
Horrible place don’t ever expect to get better. You will get harassed by ‘counselers’ and constantly go to court and get warrants because they don’t do their jobs.
So this is how the scam works. You get hit with a low level bogus charge you get conned into taking a deal on, and in turn referred to these clowns for an "evaluation ". Of course it's rigged, and no matter what they… recommend classes, which you will inevitably be found out of compliance at some point by someone, which will then tack on more classes, costing more, and keeping you here for five years until you just move away. Oh, and they'll try to mentally diagnose you with multiple choice BS sheets, over charge for unskilled counselors, and play all the games mentioned above. This should be criminal, it's very obvious the system has no true care for victims at all and it's all just an agenda. Great job, now the true victims aren't taken seriously.
Hi just wanted to mention good customer service it is really rare to find. I was calling to found about services provided by STOP. Jade answered all of my questions and provided me with the information to make an… informed decision. Thank you Jade
I have been with STOP Tacoma for a little over a year now since getting my DUI. At first it was a hard pill to swallow, but I am so grateful for my counselor Tiffani who has given me the support and guidance I need to… be successful. She has a heart of gold and always goes above and beyond. It feels good to know you have someone in your corner. This has been such a transformative journey that I never would have considered otherwise. Being sober is actually really nice! Sometimes life has it's way of showing us a different path, and I'm grateful it landed at STOP.
I’m not the one to leave reviews but Tiffany deserves it! I have had many councilors in my lifetime but not like her. Tiffany will always have a place in my heart. If you want someone real, understanding and someone you… can always count on, ask for her.
I have so much gratitude for STOP in Tacoma and their substance abuse program as well as their staff; personally this has been a life-changing and life-saving experience. The staff are welcoming, compassionate, and… understanding. The staff, especially Pam, are one of a kind, they love what they do and provide personalized care and support every step of the way - even if you’re stubborn like me and it takes a few attempts to grasp new concepts. Everything from the assessment, to treatment plans, programs, etc., are fantastic and tailored to individual and group needs. Really can’t thank them enough for giving me the tools and confidence to live a healthy, meaningful life. I 100% recommend STOP to anyone seeking recovery.
The friendly staff at this STOP Tacoma location will provide you with as much support as however much effort you put in. The humanity in the work they put in shows when they know you’re going through a difficult time,… and show they want you to succeed in whichever treatment plan you are in. Thank you, STOP! -Samuel Seth Cowden
They have been very helpful and patient.
Very caring and helpful, with my recovery. Always a phone call away
Stop is amazing! All the staff here is really great! They make each session knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoy every group and every one on one session. Pam is a great counselor and she is will help you with staying on… the straight and narrow. They are a great foundation to start and stay on the sober path. Social treatment opportunity program is definitely a 10/10
I really enjoy being there I think Pam is great and the staff is amazing.
Amazing place which has an amazing CEO who hired my mother and got me out of my drug addiction when we were in the gutter
Thank you Jeff for saving my life and thank you Andrew for working with me through my financial hardships! Im sober now for 2 years and finally out of the court system. I almost gave up many times but you saw me through… it! God bless you guys!!
I had the pleasure of completing my treatment with Tiffani C. She made group welcoming and comfortable to speak. She is always willing to go the extra mile for her clients. You can tell she really cares about her job… and enjoys helping others. She always has the biggest caseload and groups she deserves a raise!
Owners only care about money, and the staff will not handle your private information with care. Please go somewhere else that will help with your rehabilitation.
